We've tried to make this cottage just like we would want for a vacation stay. We've taken our experience with vacation rentals and learned. Much time and love has gone into making sure all the little things are just right for your visit. 1.25 acres of historical peaceful charm. Walk the grounds or enjoy the golf hole designed, built, and played on by Harvie Ward himself. He was an amazing amateur golfer who won US, British, and Canadian Opens. Harvie's distinguished playing career was followed by coaching his star pupil Payne Stewart.
The Cottage is 900 square feet and is practically laid out to seem very spacious. Recently updated with all new amenities. The perfect place to sit and read "The Match", which was written about Harvie and the day the game of golf changed forever. There's also golf, tennis, horses, history, and great food and drink nearby.
Great, almost unbelievable location....The Village is a very short walk.

Pinehurst #2

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cottage, centrally located, quaint and quiet. Pete was a perfect host and the cottage was just as described. I am already planning a trip back in early spring.

Pinehurst Hidden Gem!

What a peaceful retreat! This place was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. Most everything we wanted to do was within a short walking distance of the cottage. The porch offered a stunning view of the yard and was the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee. As a bonus, the golf hole was unique and lots of fun. What a wonderful place to call home while visiting Pinehurst. Thank you Pete and Fran!

Not 10.0 Exceptional

This is somewhat difficult to write, as the owners were very nice and quick to respond. However, the condition and lack of cleanliness to the bathroom was inexcusable. The bathroom ceiling is falling apart, there was mold, mildew on the shower curtain liner which should have been replaced long ago and the tub was not cleaned. The toilet paper holder looks like someone urinated on it. The vents looked very dusty and I'm not so sure the smoke alarm has been checked to see if it is working. In addition, this cute little cottage had a broken window, as well as the windows needing cleaning. Unfortunately, this property does not meet a 10 exceptional. With some clean up, I'm sure it will be wonderful again.

Idyllic cottage in the pines

This is a wonderful property, a cottage in oriental style outside and very comfy inside. Clean and nicely presented just a half mile outside the Pinehurst Village center. Deer welcomed us each evening when we came in from our wanderings. Great golf, spa and more at Pinehurst resort without paying the big rates for the stay. Terrific.

Cute and quiet

Very lovely, well kept cottage on quiet property. The golf hole is just a little bonus. Very close for walking on the am. Nice front porch for having morning coffee and listening to the birds.

Awesome cottage in Pinehurst

This was our second visit to Pete' cottage in Pinehurst, and it was very clean, comfortable, quiet, peaceful and a short walk to restaurants and activities. Highly recommended!

Perfect getaway

Pete and Fran were incredible hosts and the property was secluded and peaceful! The house was in great condition with all the essentials for our stay. Perfect location and is close to dozens of golf courses inland is a few blocks away from Pinehurst #2!

Secret Pinehurst Cottage w/ chipping area

Once again I had an amazing time at the cottage, the location to Pinehurst #2/Thistle Dhu/Cradle is unbelievable. Having your own private golf hole to practice chipping or with your hickory sticks is next level.

Peaceful Pinehurst

My husband and I decided to go to Pinehurst for a long weekend. We so enjoyed this cottege! The main room was flanked by window making it bright and airy. Fresh flowers were a treat. I also loved the throw blankets. The kitchen sits at one end of the living space seperated by a long table. A two seat table sits in the windowed corner of the room making it a lovely place to sit and eat or play a game. The bed was soooo comfortable that I woke up without any aches or pains (I am going to contact the owner to inquire!) The bathroom was spacious. We so enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the front porch. My husband practiced gold on the little golf hole on the property. What really added to our trip was the history of the cabin. We started to read The Match before we came and finished while at the property. The cabin sits on a corner and the main road has some traffic but not enough to take away from the many peaceful times cars are not around. We enjoyed the town! BBQ festival, the resort's new putting course and the wondeful restaurant at the resort, The Duece. Do your back and soul a favor and book today!

Perfect little Pinehurst get away

The stay was for our child's caddie for the Teen World Championship. It was so close to the Carolina and the clubhouse so was a perfect stay. Pete was so responsive and accommodating, always checking in to ensure the experience was just perfect. Thank you!

A Slice of Heaven

This lovely home was even more than I expected. I bragged about it to all of my friends who stayed in traditional hotel rooms during the Sandhills Motoring Festival last weekend. I wouldn’t hesitate to return again in the future. I loved it. My hosts were excellent!

Perfect!

Provided a great base to access the town, golf courses, friends. Enjoyed the history of Old Town Pinehurst! Watching the deer. The accommodation and amenities were everything we needed, bed comfortable, hosts accessible and welcoming, great little kitchen and outside porch, very private. Don't believe that it's a par 2 hole on site! Lots of fun.

Perfect for a golf getaway

We played a round at Mid Pines and a round at Southern Pines. The cottage was the perfect location. The Harris Teeter that's about 5 minutes from the cottage is superb. Wonderful prepared foods! Pete is a great communicator. We hope to be back again!

A paradise in Pinehurst

This cottage is so lovely that I could write so many adjectives like quaint, very clean, outdoor spaces beyond belief and so very private in a very busy town with lots to do. This is our third time staying in the cottage and we are already looking forward to May to go again.

Cozy cottage with great location.

We were greeted with a perfectly clean cottage with fresh flowers. Just right for two adults. Great visit with our grandson who works at Pinehurst golf resort. Enjoyed the golf and outstanding restaurants. Would recommend the Pinehurst area and this cottage for lodging.
