Family Favorite 'Walker House' in Grayton Beach-Private Pool

Come relax and enjoy a quiet getaway in this charming three-bedroom/two-bath beach house located on a private street in Grayton Beach. UNIQUE comes to mind when considering staying at the Walker House. Still owned & managed by the original homeowner, this cozy cottage has become a niche among the very large homes that are now in Grayton Beach. This home offers an option for small family gatherings at affordable rates near the beach. It sleeps 8 with 1 king, 2 queens & queen sofa sleeper.


Walker House has a newly (2019) surfaced 12 x 29' private gunite pool with pebble tex finish & built-in seating bench. An additional highlight is the new furniture around the pool including Adirondack chairs & lounge chairs for relaxing. Pool can be heated off season for an additional charge per week. It is complete with natural gas grill & a Weber kettle charcoal grill, tropical landscaping, night lighting, & market umbrella . The pool is located on the south side (beachside) of the home to capture the gulf breezes while cooking outdoors with family & friends. The west side (rear of the home) features a 10x16 open deck beyond the 10x40 covered/screened porch with a table, 4 chairs, & more Adirondacks for reading & relaxing.

The house features Travertine stone and hardwood floors throughout. The common area interior walls are constructed of v-groove white washed pine combined with numerous original artworks, help add to its character. It has a spacious kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an open family area. Family Room & all bedrooms are furnished with flat panel televisions. WIFI is provided (DSL) & TV is Mediacom/cable.

The master bedroom and bath are located upstairs with a private balcony overlooking the pool and also offering limited views of the gulf . The master bath features a large stone and glass tile walk in shower, modern style cabinet with two sinks and glass tile backsplash and a granite countertop.

It is approximately 100 yards to the beach, and the dune walkover is conveniently located 65 yards from the front steps. A wagon is provided for carrying items to the beach, along with chairs & various beach toys. Ample parking...small cars can park underneath in the house.

Saturday to Saturday. Weekly only preferred March thru October (nightly considered - on individual basis with owner approval).

The many outdoor spaces were a highlight. Follow the sun, or the shade to the screened in porch, open porch or pool. Nice location to the beach and to the restos in downtown Graytoh. The house has character and charm, reflecting the fact that it is an older, but nicely kept, actual beach house. We loved it.

We had a wonderful week. Great location and super quick walk to beach either direction. Uncrowded beaches. Really nice back yard pool that we enjoyed. We had our own gear but Beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, wagons available to use.

My family had a wonderful stay at the Walker House. It was a perfect location with a heated pool for our little ones to splash in after trips to the beach around the corner. It had everything we needed and was so peaceful. We can't wait to come back!

This is the perfect little beach cottage for a family! So close to all the amenities in Grayton and so close to the beach! Pool is wonderful for the kids too! Definitely will be back

Wonderful stay at the Walker House!

We had a great time staying at the Walker Beach house. They had everything we needed. The pool was great and had some nice shade in the afternoon. A very short walk to the boardwalk to the beach made it easy to go to and from the beach all day. Wayne was very responsive to our needs and was an exceptional host! We would love to stay here again next year.

Wonderful stay and wonderful host!

We loved staying at the Walker House! Stay here when I was a child in the 80s, and coming back in my 40s brought back so many wonderful memories. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable, pool was refreshing after a day at the beach, and Wayne was a wonderful host and was very responsive when I messaged him. Would definitely rent this place again!

Family Vacation Trip

The Walker house was amazing for me and my wife, our 2 daughters, and my parents. The location was incredible - very short walk to the beach and very short car or golf cart ride to all the best restaurants in Grayton or Watercolor. Wayne was an amazing host who always responded quickly via text and had great suggestions for things to do while we were there. The house was very nice with a great pool in the side yard area and large patios. Would absolutely recommend for a family trip!

Fall Trip

This was our third stay at Walker House. We love the mix of older and newer homes in the area. After years of staying in a much more crowded spot close by we really enjoy Grayton. The beach access is a short walk and there is never a crowd on the beach. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance. The owner, Wayne, is very responsive and provides great information if you are unfamiliar with the area.

Great trip to Grayton Beach

We had a great trip to Grayton Beach and enjoyed Walker house very much. The pool was great alternative to the beach that was a short walk away. Owners were great to work with. 5th star was withheld as all the towels and sheets had the strong smell of cigarette smoke that required immediate washing when we arrived. We would stay again assuming the cigarette smoke issue can be corrected.

We are in our 50's and have one son. We love relaxing at the beach and sunsets with friends. We also love art...collecting and painting even though we have no real talent. Some of our best memories are from times spent at Grayton Beach.

We both grew up in northwest Florida and began spending time at Grayton Beach in 1981. It was our dream to own property there and we bought a lot and built our first home in 1986. We have seen a lot of changes in the area over the years and remember the slower paced days we used to have just sipping coffee and chatting with neighbors in the mornings.

Our many years of renting our home has helped us put our guests' comforts in line with their expectations. We love the pool and pool area that we added a few years ago. The proximity to the beach, restaurants, bike paths, etc makes our home a great vacation choice.
