Cedar Bluff Cabin in May in Old Town Bluffton on the river

The Cedar Bluff Cottage is located on the beautiful May River in old town Bluffton. The cottage is situated within close walking distance from Calhoun street and the Promenade area where there are several shops, restaurants, art galleries, etc. There is also another house on the property.

One bedroom with a king-sized bed. There is a single pull-out sofa in the living room. We are an adult-only property and allow a maximum of 3 guests.

Guests will have access to the cottage, the property private residence dock, backyard patio and backyard

**We have 3 kayaks that are available for use at your leisure.

The kitchen has everything except for an oven, but all other kitchen appliances are included, as well as an oversized microwave oven that can cook casseroles and other larger items.

Our stay at the Cedar Bluff house was everything we could have hoped for. The entire property is absolutely stunning. The cottage where we stayed had everything we needed. We went kayaking on the river with the kayaks providedone morning which was definitely a highlight! The short walk to town is lovely. We got to meet and chat with our host Joe and loved learning about the history of the property. We will definitely be back!

We totally loved staying here. It was beautifully decorated, the property was exceptionally maintained, and the location was perfect. An easy walk to town to shops and dining. We highly recommend staying in this cottage. The host was very accommodating as well. We will be back again!!

Paradise found in the Elysian fields of Historic Bluffton. Thoughtfully crafted, craftsman built cottage on beautifully cultivated gardens with gorgeous hardscaping to a strong, safe, stable, and inviting dock.A beautifully manicured and sculpted brick pathway leads you from the cottage, around the main house, and through gorgeous thick grass to a solid wide bridge over a beach bed of oyster shells and then leads you to the covered dock of dreams!Great thought was put into every detail to create a safe, comfortable, and luxurious experience. From the bed with starched sheets to the antique cast iron tub to the well appointed dock, we feel welcome and spoiled by the ultimate historic river experience.So close to downtown historic Bluffton and all of the great attractions,shops, and restaurants. Kelsey, our host was delightful.We witnessed an otter catch and enjoy a zebra fish, dolphins swimming in the surf, turtles bathing on the beach, fish swimming in schools, eel hunting prey, lizards guarding the castle, butterflies, and song birds building nests.The location is truly private and special, and so close to historic downtown.The tide may ebb and flow but our heart will forever rest upon this location as a dear favorite.We feel very blessed to have stayed here and we hope to return again soon.

Cedar Bluff cottage

This is an amazing low country cottage on the grounds of the historic Cedar Bluff property in Bluffton, SC on the banks of the May River. It is the most comfortable and cozy cottage one could ever hope to find on VRBO. Please book a stay; you won't regret it!!

What a wonderful cottage, was way more beautiful than I expected!

The grounds are superb as is the pier-I saw so many dolphins! My hosts were great and told me about lots of great places to go...and I could walk into town in 10 minutes. Couldn’t be happier.

We stayed here for our wedding! It is the most gourgus property we’ve stayed at in so long, and we are locals to Hilton head!! I was able to come get ready here for my wedding, which was nextdoor at the oyster park, and have my bridal portraits taken in the backyard as well. The property was so stunning that all the photos turned out so amazing. The home is the perfect size for us and it felt so big with the high ceilings. The bathroom is amazing and the bed was so comfortable after a long night of dancing. Thank you for an amazing stay!!

Amazing

The home was fanatastic and beyond our expectations. Just a short walk to Bluffton's main area. The host was very hospitable. Could not have asked for a more memorable experience.

Perfect getaway

Our week could not have been better. The goal was a relaxing getaway… mission accomplished, expectations exceeded! We explored the area but always looked forward to getting back ‘home’. The cottage was exceedingly clean and well appointed, the grounds were beautiful, within walking distance to all things Bluffton, and so on. Highly recommend this spot. We certainly want to get back as soon as possible. Thank you Kelsey for opening your home to us.

Slice of Heaven

The Cedar Bluff Cottage on the May River is so beautiful and peaceful--it truly is a slice of heaven! The cottage is comfortable and has everything you might need for a stay in Bluffton, SC. The private river dock and river views are breathtaking, the landscaping on the property is meticulously maintained, and the short walk into Old Town Bluffton makes this the perfect location for a small town getaway. Kelsey is a joy to work with, as well. I would highly recommend this property and I hope to be back in the near future! Once word gets out about this hidden gem it will be booked months in advance!

Lovely place and warm hospitality

Rather than stay at a Hilton Head hotel, we spent five days here instead. We made the right decision! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Bluff Cottage. It is located on a historic property with a beautiful view of the May River. Joe, the owner, lives on the site and lovingly restored the original home and built the cottage as well as another building that serves a variety of purposes. (An article about the restoration was published in a local magazine.) The cottage is thoughtfully decorated to fit in with the setting and extremely well built too. Both houses included materials from the original home which also preserved the history of this site. We were invited to enjoy the view of the river from his yard, where I saw a school of dolphins, and use his kayaks and bicycles. We took him up on all of those activities as well as throwing tennis balls for Winston, a Bloodhound/Labrador who also resides on the premises. Kelsey, Joe's daughter, manages the property, and she did an excellent job communicating with us and working with our schedule. I have stayed at many VRBO/ AirB&B properties of the years, and this was the nicest one! Ellen O'Neill-Stephens

Amazing!!!

We had such a fun ladies' trip; staying at the Cedar Bluff Cottage was the best! The home is perfect - beautifully decorated and in such a great location. The Live Oak trees, dripping with Spanish Moss, set the stage for a true southern getaway. If you like birds, you will want to be out on the back porch at daybreak - so many species darting among the flowers and bushes. And best of all, you can spend your evening sitting dockside on the May River - we loved watching a dolphin chasing its dinner. Nestled in the heart of Bluffton, this cottage was one of the best VRBOs we've experienced. We can't wait to go back.

Fantastic stay in Bluffton

This property is in the perfect location for a weekend stay in Bluffton. Beautiful setting a short walk to Olde Town and all it has to offer. We enjoyed great meals at Farm and Pearl, but may have enjoyed relaxing around the property even more. Would Definitely come back again!

A slice of paradise!

Our two night stay was perfect! The cottage was incredible!! No detail overlooked! After we arrived, a light rain started and we simply enjoyed listening to the sound of rain on the metal roof back porch! The bed and linens were very comfortable - just like a luxury hotel! The grounds and landscaping on this property are amazing! It was also a treat to chat with the owner and hear some of the property’s history! We WILL return! Thank you, Kelsey!

Great Stay!

Cedar Bluff is an amazing Bluffton jewel! Extremely well designed, maintained and managed. It does not get better than this in Bluffton! Kelsey was a very responsive manager and the owners are delightful. We will definitely return!

We absolutely love staying at the beautiful Cedar Bluff cottage! Quiet, quaint, and cozy! It is definitely a “5 star” stay! Kelsey is so wonderful and helpful, too! Great location! We will be back!

Great for outdoors

Covid and a tropical storm impacted my stay. There is not flexibility but when there it is a good place for those who want to eat out and just hang outdoors. Kitchen is lacking as just wine cooler and there is no flexibility in bad weather conditions. So just make sure you can make it and want to eat out and don’t need any special requests. But amazing location.

Christine, sorry we were not able to accommodate a cancellation due to rain in the forecast. It did end up being a beautiful week! Our cancellation policy is clearly laid out for guests to see prior to booking. We have this policy in place because we reserve guest’s dates for them and if they are unable to attend at the last minute (due to something such as rain in forecast) then we cannot honor a cancellation since other guests could have booked these dates if they were available prior. Covid was never mentioned as one of your reasons for wanting to cancel. As far as the kitchen, I’m sorry it did not meet your expectations but it is included in our listing that we do not have a full-size kitchen in this cottage. We have a mini-fridge, microwave, full-size microwave oven, farm sink, 2 electric burners, dishwasher, kitchen island, utensils etc. the only thing the kitchen is lacking is an oven and a full-size refrigerator. Again, I’m sorry this didn’t meet your expectations but it is all laid out in the listing. Thanks for staying with us and take care.

Can we just live there?

Perfect stay. The Cottage was everything we hoped it would be and more. We hated leaving and already want to plan our next (longer) trip to Bluffton. Kelsey was fantastic to work with.

The cottage far exceeded our expectations. The photos are lovely but don’t capture the full beauty and grace of this property. This is a must stay for us.
