The Beekeeper s Cottage is a short term/vacation rental. Located beside the main home the beekeeper s cottage has friendly, happy bees to right of driveway that provide fresh honey. We have 2 sweet white small ducks that enjoy the back-yard pond/water-fall area. We also have a 12-year old black manx kitty names Gideon, and a small indoor dog named Daisy plus a sweet bunny named Newman.
In summer we have a beautiful garden and a wonderful back-yard and relaxing hammock.
The cottage is decorated in a beekeepers style, with an antique white iron bed with a new mattress. A small kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower.
This property is also ideal for traveling professionals on an out of state project, locals needing a residence while their home is under construction, traveling nurses, graduate college students, people moving into the state and looking for a place to stay while they house shop.

This beekeeper s cottage is an easy drive to Tacoma, Bremerton, Seattle, Bellevue, Mt. Rainier and the rainforests of the Olympic Mountain range.
But first make sure you partake in everything Gig Harbor and nearby areas have to offer. After you've strolled through the quaint downtown and shopped the boutiques and antique stores take your pick from any of the great restaurants and cafes. Seafood is always on the menu.
From the ever popular Tides Tavern for casual waterfront dining to Anthony s where the views are as fabulous as the food. You won t be disappointed by the wide variety of culinary choices.
Gig Harbor is surrounded by water so you can take your pick of activities. Go whale watching with Destiny Tours, check out the History Museum to learn about Gig Harbor s nautical past, pack a picnic and head to one of the many great state parks for a day of sun and sand.
Paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, shopping, restaurants and coffee shops abound within blocks.
Double check the address we are on 64th Ave but Google maps sometimes send people to 86th for some unknown reason.

This property was amazing!! I told the host it should be featured in Better Home and Gardens magazine! The cottage and grounds were lovely. Their 2 cats, dog and ducks were a delight to have around the yard, and well mannered. The host was very kind, friendly and attentive! Thank you for everything. We really enjoyed our stay!!!

Perfect Weekend Stay

The Beekeepers Cottage was perfect for the weekend while attending my class reunion. Close enough to my events, but far away enough from the noises of being directly in town. It is comfortable with a modern cottage look and feel to it. The hot tub was a great bonus just outside the cottage and a part of their beautiful backyard garden space. The owners are wonderful people who obviously care about their guests and the accommodations they provide. Along with getting to know both Nina and Brent, I enjoyed my daily greeting with their beautiful fluffy dog and cats along with their pair of ducks. Everything was great! Thanks so much!

Beautiful garden retreat

Thank you Nina, for the best vacation rental experience we've had! This was our first time renting a property where the host is also in residence and we were uncertain of how it would go; it turned out to be delightfully easy! Nina made us feel completely welcomed and at home, as did her adorable menagerie of sweet animals (hi River, we miss you already!!). Having the option to relax in the gorgeous backyard/garden or make the short drive to charming downtown Gig Harbor gave us the best of both worlds. We're so glad we found Beekeeper's Cottage and can't wait to go back again.

Extended weekend to chill

The place was so lovely and had just the amenities so we didn't have to run to the store for this or that. We felt welcome and loved the ducks! See ya again.

River Oasis

As soon as I started to drive down their road, I became relaxed. Upon arriving, Nina greeted me, introducing herself and showing me amenities of the property. The Beehive Cottage is adorable. Professionally decorated and with all the extras of a five star room. Like cooking appliances, dishware, bottle of wine, fresh honey, toilet paper with handfolded flowers decorating every roll. Plus a week of delicious snacks. The yard had two quiet and clean ducks. Best of all was Nina and River's, her dog, mien of friendliness which greeted me every time I saw them. I travel alot, and the Beehive Cottage is the best place I have stayed at.

Cozy, private cottage with easy commute to nearby holiday family gatherings.

Mostly stayed here to rest, explore Gig Harbor, and use as a convenient launch pad for commuting to family holiday events. Perfect for all of this, and the cottage also provided a cozy space with welcoming holiday decorations. Loved strolling along the waterfront area with a gorgeous decorated tree, reading local historical signs posted here and there, plus eating delicious “from scratch” meals at quaint local diners along the historic pathways.

Nina has thought of every little detail possible to make the Beekeeper’s Cottage a perfect place to stay! We enjoyed our 2 nights so much that we have already confirmed our stay for next Thanksgiving as well. Super clean, inviting, cute Honey Bee decor, and very welcoming. We felt right at home and slept like babies. Although it is small, the space has everything you could need! The hot tub, the furry and feathered friends solidified our decision to come back. Thank you so much.

What a delightful gem!

I was in town to see family and saw this property. The pictures do not do justice. Its is beautiful in a quiet neighborhood. I loved it. The hosts were so kind. I thoroughly loved it and hope to come back again next year.

The little paradise in Gig Harbor

My stay at the Beekeeper’s Cottage was entirely delightful. Nina is a wonderful host and a lovely human being. She and her husband were so welcoming and thoughtful. The cottage was perfect: clean and comfortable and very pretty. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was sorry to have to leave!

Tranquil escape

We were looking for a place to decompress after some hectic work weeks and this cottage was perfect. It's a little off-the-beaten track in a residential area about 12-15 minutes drive from Gig Harbor but the second you walk through the back gate you feel the stress drain from your shoulders. The grounds are kept immaculately and we loved sitting on the porch of the cottage with a glass of wine taking in the surroundings. The cottage is tiny but adorable and kept spotlessly clean. If you're looking for a place to clear your head and get out of the rat-race for a while this cottage is for you.

Cottage Oasis

If I could give 12 stars if 10, I would. Nina and her sweet animals were perfectly hospitable hosts. The cottage had every amenity we could ask for and more. The sounds of the birds and water fountain in the sunny yard space was a true oasis on our slow Sunday morning. Nina recommended a wonderful restaurant where we had brunch, and suggested some shops to stop into. I highly recommend this stay in Gig Harbor and would be happy to stay again. A true gem !

GEM OF THE PNW

I have stayed at over 200 vacation rentals over the years for work and personal travel, this was in the top three hands down. Yes, Gig Harbor is beautiful which is undeniable but the cottage is so much more than just a cute place to stay in a beautiful town. Every touch is personalized; I don't want to give away surprises but you will be amazed at the level of detail that Nina and Brent have put into this. I truly will treasure my time here forever.

Restful Cottage

I stayed here while commuting into Tacoma for some dates and it was so very relaxing to come back to each day! The backyard was a garden oasis (with a guard duck 😂). It was great to do morning yoga on the front porch and then wind down in the evening. Would highly recommend staying here!

Home away from home

I don’t recall seeing so much detail and effort put into a property as Nina did for the Beekeepers Cottage. The whole experience flowed so smoothly. From the warm and welcoming smell of candles to the cleanliness of the cottage itself, I couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable stay. The attention to detail is beyond anything that I’ve ever seen and I would hands down recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life to stay at this wonderful place. 10/10

My name is nina, I started saving for this property when I was 11 years old. I bought the property right out of High School. In 1991 the house was purchased from Tacoma and moved onto the property. It was originally built in 1940. In 2016 the Beekeepers Cottage moved onto the property.

I fell in love with this property when I was 18yrs old. I just love the big trees and all the birds and wildlife. The property is very close to the water and to beautiful Gig Harbor.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The cottage is located in a beautiful garden with a waterfall and a large open patio. There is a wonderful hot tub that makes star gazing and relaxing a year round event. In the summer there is a big Hammock for taking a afternoon nap. The two adirondack chairs on the porch is a perfect place to share a fresh brewed pot of coffee. From the deck you have a perfect view for watching the ducks play in the pond. The Harbor is just 7 minutes away, making grabbing a bite to eat and a movie a easy task.
