A song should be composed for this delightful cottage.All aspects of our stay were excellent. AC worked wonderfully in high heat and humidity periods. When we thought we needed something we opened a cupboard or closet and there it was. My daily walk was from the cottage to the St Marys waterfront and back.

A great place for our short get-away

This nice home in a quiet neighborhood was just what we needed for our get-away less than an hour from home. From Mermaid Cottage we explored Cumberland Island and St. Mary's and had a comfortable place to return to each evening.

Returning to childhood

The property is lovely. Perfect for a landing pad while exploring the area. The house is clean, well appointed and was quite relaxing. It is all you need for a weekend get away. We had no problems getting in, directions were spot on and everything was easy to find. St. Mary’s has not changed much in the last 40 years, and I love it even more.

Mermaid paradise!

Super cute house! Loved the location, was able to take my dogs on a great walk and had room in the backyard for the them to relax. Contact with host was quick and prompt if needed. Had everything you may have needed for my fur babies which I appreciated so much.

Nice getaway in an amazing area

Very nice small cottage to get away for a long weekend in a truly ideal setting. St Mary's is a place where time stopped and the natural beauty is amazing

Perfect mini vacation

This cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The decor was lovely and it was located in a quiet neighborhood with downtown very closeby. We visited Apr 30 thru May 4th 2025 and the weather was delightful. The ferry to Cumberland was another wonderful day 9am- 3:30 pm departing downtown. Went to Local Dockside steak and seafood sitting outside with a waterview for dinner and we had the best shrimp ever so had to stop for lunch before diving home. Our host also was kind enough to allow us an early check in and noon check out. She also treated us to see a production at the Theater by the Trax. I wouldn't stay anywhere else if we can return to the area.

Great Place to stay.

I really liked my stay at The Mermaid Cottage. Its well decorated. And is in close proximity to a few fun places for dinner, and shopping. St Marys was a fun quite town.

Mermaid cottage

The cottage had a strong smell of cleaning solution. Even when we got home our bags smelled. When we got there the grass was tall leading the the door Fairly clean except the bathroom shower was not maintained. Did not appear clean around the floor and caulking. The shower was very small We don’t feel that it was price appropriate. There also added charges. Would not recommend this place to stay I did not take pictures. I am already home. We left early

My wife and I always enjoy the stay at The Mermaid Cottage, Barbara is extremely polite and accommodating. The place is always clean and extremely inviting. We will be back soon!

The sweetest lil get away spot

This was one of nicest verb's to stay at. The place was bigger than expected and was super comfortable. The hospitality was amazing, and we look forward to staying there again!

Nice place to stay.

Cottage was adorable!! Very clean, plenty of stuff in the kitchen to cook with, walking distance to shops and restaurants! Great little family neighborhood,we will definitely be back.

Very nice place

This is a very nice little house - clean, cute, and very nicely decorated. We wish we could have stayed longer - maybe next time. Also, the town is great, with good food.

Quick Getaway

Publisher of St. Marys Magazine, Barbara Ryan has been in love with St. Marys since she moved here in 2004. She is the founder and director of St. Marys Little Theatre and writes many of the plays performed at Theatre by the Trax just 4 blocks from the Merry Mermaid Cottage.
