This property was wonderful!! Our family loved the beach, dog friendly and not very busy. Beautiful stretch of sand. The house was perfect for our 3 generation reunion. The owners were wonderful! So accommodating and very responsive. We hope to return!

This property was wonderful for a quick family getaway to Muskegon. Perfectly positioned for walks to the beach or nearby playgrounds. With easy access to most of the shoreline via a nice long walk or quick bike ride. Would highly recommend for families with active kids or pets who want a cozy place to wind down after a day of exploring.

Sunsets in Sherman was a fabulous place to stay for our summer family gathering (ages 3-77 yrs). The communication with Valerie was prompt and helpful. The place was well stocked with beach items, cooking/eating equipment, children’s toys/games, nice deck, comfy beds, and lots more. It was an easy walk…and not too many steps down…to the fabulous dog beach. One of the prettiest beaches we’d ever seen. There were wonderful boardwalk treks to exquisite overlooks, where the sunsets were awesome. The place was also close by great neighborhood parks that the young children loved, as well as Muskegon’s lighthouse, Monet’s Garden, and The Deck restaurant. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to enjoy our Lake Michigan family vacation!

Probably the most accomodating host we've ever experienced. Check-in was easy, questions were answered quickly and kindly. The house was very clean and the beds comfortable. Lots of items for families with kiddos to walk to the beach. We rented this place to accomodate adult family members visiting a nursing home resident in the area to celebrate a 90th birthday. The yard was beautiful and well maintained. I will say that for older adults ( we are in are 70's and 80's) a comfortable recliner would have been welcome. The furnishings available were fine - but old people need a little more comfort. Would we rent again, absolutely - great location and an easy walk to a beautiful beach. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The house was well stocked with all of the essentials in addition to all the 'extras' such as games, books, outdoor activities, beach towels and chairs, and a well stocked kitchen. It fit our family of 10 perfectly. I've stayed in a lot of rentals and this host had the best communication. The only reason this rental got a 4 on location was because I had envisioned a larger 'beach/water view'. The actual view is very limited through a distant treeline. The picture of the boardwalk was also a bit misleading as it was not available while we were there. Once it is completed I'm sure people will love it! My family could easily navigate the short walk to the beach and the stairs so in that respect the location worked out well. Overall my family enjoyed our stay and I would recommend.

It is disheartening that I was unable to receive a five-star review from our guests. I am proud of the host that I was for this family. I provided numerous exceptional services, including early check-in, a parking pass for a guest who was using crutches, researching motorized scooters for the beach, providing brand new beach rafts for the girls, texted lunch recommendations during my cleaning time, and sending follow-up texts to ensure their satisfaction. I also made a friendly gesture to help them obtain a paddleboard experience and sent them a thank-you note along with a gift to acknowledge their exceptional cleaning work. Regarding the boardwalk and our website pictures, I must clarify that the boardwalk pictures are entirely accurate. The construction of a new handicap-accessible ramp is currently underway at Krause Park and has not yet been photographed or mentioned on my website. I sincerely hope that all future guests will have the opportunity to experience what I believe is a five-star experience. Since that is what we strive for but sometimes disappointment hits and we fall short.

We loved this house. It was full of amenities. The hot tub and easy beach access were a huge bonus. The beds were super comfortable and we slept amazing!

Everything was clean and organized. We enjoyed the hot tub and the short distance to the beach was a huge plus. My family and I would definitely rent this home again. Great memories were made.

One of the best located vacation house

The home is located in an amazing neighborhood. The sunset views are the best I have seen in western Michigan! Very well-organized check-in process. Plenty of activities to do in the home and nearby. Will visit again!

Muskegon Family Vacation 2025

We had the most amazing time! Rental was everything we hoped for a more. Location was perfect, weather was beautiful, sunsets amazing, neighbors were awesome and plenty to do in the area. Also very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommend Sunsets on Sherman!

Wonderful home. Very well appointed. House was very clean, organized, easy to find cooking pans and utensils in the kitchen. Our group of 9 had only good to say about their stay!! We enjoyed the corn hole toss game, hot tub, beach chairs. Great location to the beach and quiet area! Thank you for a wonderful vacation place!!

Rare Find Near Dog Beach

Our family of five adults and two dogs had a great time at this home. The dog beach is a short walk down the dunes and we spent lots of time there. The house was very clean and the backyard was very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay.

Ideal Lake Michigan Location

This was our family’s second stay at Sunsets on Sherman and it was, again, a great vacation. The home has everything we needed and the location is just a short walk to Lake Michigan. The owners, Valerie and Sean, communicated with us well, and even made sure we knew about the local fireworks.

Great home and location! Right at Lake Michigan and Lake Muskegon. Beautiful beaches! Many things available to do nearby. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores! Love the yard at this home, and all the amenities by being stocked! Our family loved it there!❤️

Great location! Lots of room for our family. Great dog beach which is just a 5 minute walk away. Great communication from host. We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was a bit on the small side which it made meal prep challenging at times. It could have been a bit cleaner and need to invest in new mattresses. Overall, a good stay though. The weather was fabulous during our stay.

We’ve got two kitchens that are plenty big enough for you to cook up a storm and plan your meals. About those mattresses, we just got all new ones within the past five years of owning the house. But not everyone loves memory foam mattresses, so we totally get that. It would’ve been great if you could’ve been a bit more specific about how we could improve our cleaning standards. As a family, we take great pride in keeping our home spotless and sparkling clean. As we mentioned in our welcome message to all our guests, our goal is to be as kind and accommodating as possible. We delivered 14 washcloths, 6 hand towels, and 20 hangers via Insta Cart, so you wouldn’t have to worry about those. I know we can’t always get a 5-star review, even when that’s our goal. But we’ll keep trying our best and appreciate your feedback!

Beautiful lake house

The property was well maintained and stocked with "cottage" necessities. The location was nice and quiet yet close to Lake Michigan. The hosts were very accommodating and let us move back our check out time since the kids and grandkids had a later flight departure time. Had a great time and the weather was very cooperative.

Everything about this rental was 5 stars. The cleanliness of the home and property and the wonderful small touches all throughout the house. We loved the short walk to the beach with our dog so she could swim in the lake and we could watch the sunsets. We enjoyed using the hot tub each night as the temperature was cooler mid October. Valerie communicated with us to make sure everything we needed was available. Would love to come back with more family in the future.

Easy, just as expected

Clean and inviting. Included things like beach chairs and towels which was convenient. Simple stay instructions. Short, easy drive to stores. Didn’t need to think about anything too much which makes for a great stay.

Short but very sweet

We were in the area for a wedding but this home and location made it fun for all. Having access to the beach was awesome for all of us, especially the kids. The game closet was great, too. The adults got into the hot tub one evening. All in all a lovely stay.
