This rustic beach cottage is situated at Sakonnet Point primo location with panoramic ocean and harbor views and fabulous rising and setting sunsets . This is the best LC location with its private beach and evening campfires . You are only a stone throw from the ocean . The best accessible and dog-friendly beach in Little Compton is only a five-minute walk away.
The house is open breezy like living on a boat yet better with kitchen, dining, and living room in one large open space with fabulous views. Great porch for cooking, entertaining, relaxing with your favorite drink.
You will really enjoy your time if you accept that this is "no Hampton's rental " but a weather beaten 45 year old Ocean front beach house living with all the nuisances There are so many things to do in Little Compton but the best is to relax and enjoy the view. Just get a pot of salt water and cook your lobsters on the beach or porch and try some Sakonnet wine.
Also, play at the world-famous private Donald Ross Sakonnet Golf Course as my paying quest or go to the exclusive best Private mile-long Lloyds beach a few hundred yards from the house with my permission. You can even take your dogs with you ! Most Guest remark”stunning location , cute beach in front” “stunning for sunsets and sunrises “ “view panoramic gets 12, out of 10 “ private beach and Loyds a gem”” so serene and relaxing especially with a cozy fire” “our dog had a great time too!!! “ “getting to play the famous Donald Ross ( he summered in L C ) Sakonnet Golf Course was a dream come true” “ if your are nitpicky or a complainer about amenities this isn’t your place. But if you love a quiet spot on the ocean in a charming house , this is perfect “.” FYI No gas stations in Little Compton and locally few eating facilities but plenty ten minutes away in Tiverton and Westport

We spent a lovely week in Little Compton enjoying the terrific views. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed warm days on the pebble beach, paddleboard and kayak adventures, and cocktails on the deck. The house had everything we needed, although a bit seasoned with some updates likely needed. The RI coast is fun to explore and Little Compton was quaint and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider a return.

Definitely bed situation is for two couples. One sleep area extremely small. To get to one of bathroom have to go through another bedroom. Basement needs work. Window air conditioner are noisy.

Wonderful location for traveling with children! Bikes, kayaks, beach chairs and paddle boards were included. Dog friendly beach was great and a very easy walk from the cottage. Suggest you come prepared with all the food/snacks you may want it is a drive to the closest store. Try Greenwood Chicken, yum. Heads up the twin on the first floor is a trundle, a bit tight. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

terrific views, but early morning noise from the lobster operation across the street. this house should not be on VRBO. the owner does not keep it up. we lost water pressure for half a day while the basement flooded, the outside shower did not work, the grill stopped working, the disposal did not work, guest bedroom AC stopped working, dishwasher kept falling out when trays were opened, windows in master bath and guest bedroom were broken and inoperable, master tub drain didn't work, no screens on half the windows, no screens on any doors, many windows fogged up because of broken seals, kitchen cabinet doors don't close, world's cheapest plastic mini blinds (many broken) etc. etc. house needs major investment and it does not speak well to VRBO.

This is a 2 1/4 bedroom house, not 4 bedrooms as pictured and advertised. Sleeping arrangements were not adequate for 4 adults and two children under 5. The basement level which has a separate back entrance, had experienced a recent flood - was moldy, crowded with old furniture and games and unusable. Ants in the upstairs kitchen and ant traps everywhere. Towels and linens old and permanently stained. But the location and view was amazing!

This was a perfect vacation! The view is stunning. We got to watch the fishing boats and lobster boats leave the harbor, lots of sailboats/ kayakers too. Nothing was better than to wake up, make some tea and sit out on the deck and watch the boats. The house was spotless and very, very comfortable. The host was wonderful and fun to talk to. It was a very quiet and relaxing place, but if you wanted excitement, Newport/ Portsmouth was under an hour away. There was a lobster pound walking distance so we had to get lobster a few nights. The public beach was a very short walk away. Our dog was able to go with us! Our boys loved the beaches and walking around the surrounding area, but stayed at the house mostly to enjoy the house and the view. Very peaceful place. One of our favorite places to go! Thank you for letting stay at your house! It was perfect!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The views of the water, particularly in the living/dining room and main bedroom, are incredible. The home is a beach house – it is casual and comfortable. You can truly relax there as you look at the water and hear the waves on the rocks. You can see water in all directions and the mansions of Newport are visible in the far distance. The kitchen has everything you need, and we appreciated the small touches throughout the house. We also appreciated the small marina nearby – it was great to see the fishing boats leaving and returning each day. We were there in late April and the neighborhood was very peaceful. We were fortunate with the milder and sunny weather on most days. Lloyd’s beach is terrific and easily walkable. Our dog really enjoyed being there too. We were glad we stayed there for our first vacation on the Rhode Island coast.

Thank you for the great review. It was a nice break after the worse blizzard of the century - hurricane II winds and luckly The house survived almost all intact .

Another wonderful stay! You cannot beat the location of this home, we absolutely love it. Having the ocean steps outside the back of the house and our own beach is priceless. My fiancé spends hours picking up sea glass on the private beach, and I enjoy a fire on the beach each year. We look forward to next year’s visit!

Delightful beach house

This home was exactly what we were looking for in a quiet off season beach retreat. The ocean views, sunsets and access to so many spectacular beaches was perfect. The house had many kayaks, bikes and games for use, kitchen was fully functional and stocked with all the things needed to cook for the family. The homeowner checked in with us regularly and we had a great time speaking with him and hearing the history of the area. Will definitely go back!

Sisters Weekend away!

The fantastic setting of this house and the gorgeous views were absolutely the highlight of our weekend away visiting Newport. At first we thought the drive over to Newport would be a drag but it turned out the be a huge benefit. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Little Compton and getting the real feel of small town New England. The house is small but very comfortable for 4 to 6 people. Our host was very accommodating and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous

The location and beaches were stunning, both for sunsets and sunrises. The house was comfortable and cheerful and we enjoyed being there. Owner was extremely accommodating and helped us arrange a golf outing and provided wood for a cozy fire on the rainy day. Our dog had a great time too!

Lived my whole life here ( 9 the generation you'll see a lot of inbreeding LOL)

If you're obsessive/compulsive with severe anxieties, this perfect location will not make you feel better or relaxed. It will not be the perfect place for you !!!
Yes, the ocean, walking on the beach with your dog, and enjoying nature is the best therapy for vacationers or escapers. You have to allow yourself to enjoy the ambiance of sand, sun, and sea. Little Compton is blessed as Rhode Islands' only best small-town escapee by National Geographic. There is this scenic beauty of open space with stone walls going to the sea and plenty of ocean-front beaches. Also noted for great walks and bicycling.
Psychiatrists say it takes two weeks of vacation to come home really relaxed and worry-free. Long vacations near the Sea and in the Sun cures most problems !!! You don't need a doctor to tell you that!
