We loved being able to walk right out the door and down the path to the rocky shore and pebbly beach, especially at low tide when the birds and other creatures seemed to barely notice we were there. Little Compton town center is there if you need it and there are loads of nearby options for walking in natural areas. Looking forward to another visit.

While I selfishly don’t want to encourage people to stay here so that it doesn’t book up too quickly, I can’t overlook the benefits of spending a week at the maus haus. My wife and I don’t really do a lot, though there are many entertaining things one can do. I’m just happiest stretched out on the lawn with a good book and the beautiful view and sound of the ocean, knowing that I’ll be grilling something nice to eat for dinner. Many times we rise just before the sun is up and have coffee in the screened in porch. It’s peaceful and gorgeous. Doug is an easy going and terrific host

The first time I visited this property 4 years ago, I was floored by the beauty of this property on the ocean. I’ve just returned and feel exactly the same this year. Doug, the host , is attentive from afar, asking on my arrival if I had everything I needed. I loved my week …I’ll be back!

We loved our stay and Doug was a terrific host! The cottage was wonderful and everything was very organized. They really have thought of everything. We loved the screened porch and the front porch. The area was beautiful and great for walking and exploring. The beach was nice too and we found some great beach glass. We had a wonderful time and will be back. Thanks so much Doug! Highly recommended!!

The cottage is set very discretely in a meadow facing the ocean- the sound of the waves and the birdsong form the soundtrack. The space is clean, bright, and functional, and the screen porch provides relief on hot days (No AC). The outfitting is thoughtful and a bit spartan, but all promised elements are there, and generously supplied with paper goods, sheets and towels. etc.The bedroom is tight, and note that the loft with the extra full and single bed are accessed by a steep ladder- not for old creaky bones or tiny kids!The host is most gracious and responsive.

We keep coming back for a reason: it’s such a nice, peaceful place to spend a week. You can hear, see and smell the ocean from the porch and I love to stretch out on the front lawn with a book. The owners are terrific people, very accommodating and I’m sure we’ll back again.

Beautiful and Relaxing Stay

We really enjoyed our time in little Compton. Beautiful setting, house was clean and host was very responsive and helpful. We feel relaxed and recharged after our stay! We enjoyed exploring the shoreline with our dog :)

Rhode Island Getaway

Loved the privacy and closeness to the ocean. Really enjoyed having a nice yard and trees but only steps away from the water!

Beautiful spot by the ocean

We love our annual stay in Little Compton. We love to see, hear, and smell the ocean from our little cottage. The quiet area is perfect for walking, running, and biking. And there’s a farmers market and a winery nearby!

My daughter and I have been coming to the Cottage for several years and always look forward to our return. The Cottage is a lovely, peaceful spot. The owners are very pleasant and provide a lot of information about places to visit.

Ocean View and Sounds

This cottage is in a spectacular location. Beautiful view and the lovely sound of the ocean. The town itself is very sweet and everyone was exceptionally kind.
