Cute house, could use a little TLC. It is an older home, not too many updates. Location is great, quiet neighborhood and close to beach. Huge, well kept yard. Didn't realize there was no ac, but we managed to stay cool with fans and windows open.

Host was fantastic. Check in was a breeze. Host responded very quickly when I had a question during our stay. The location CANNOT be beat. Would def return!

Weekend retreat

We had a lovely stay. Cozy home, situated in a beautiful neighborhood walking distance to the beach. Wonderful sunrise! Easy communication, no issues at all, nice place.

First impression arriving saw part of garage door was pushed in. Owner communicated that door was on order and could be fixed during our stay. Garage was not useable throughout our stay. We asked to not have workers there during our stay for privacy reasons. Cottage has good location near 2 beaches and very nice neighborhood for walking. Cottage itself was run down, poorly maintained and not updated in kitchen, and two bathrooms. Throughout the cottage there was an intense mustiness, noticeable mildew stains and potentially mold. We were worried about healthiness of air in the cottage. Owner did come by and provide 8 canisters of varying design to put everywhere to respond to our concern about this. Curtains in kitchen were dirty. Rugs and shower curtain liners were old. Supplies left for the use of the cottage were adequate. Based on earlier reviews, we were greatly disappointed and surprised with the overall condition of the cottage.

Regarding the garage door, it was damaged by previous tenants and scheduled for replacement during your stay, but we postponed the work until after your departure per your request. As noted in the listing, garage access is not included with the rental, so this should not have impacted your stay. Thank you also for bringing the curtains and rugs to our attention. While we replace these items every spring, we appreciate the feedback and have had them thoroughly cleaned. Lastly, I am sorry to hear about the mustiness you experienced. The coastal location can get quite foggy, and the rain during your stay (several days) likely contributed to the humidity. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for staying with us. Best regards,

I enjoyed this comfortable cottage very much! Loved seeing & hearing the ocean every day. Short walk to the beach. Great farm store with a nice selection of foods close by too. The owners were very responsive to my question. Lovely quiet neighborhood. I hope to visit again near year.

This house was perfect for a girls' trip. Great location, beautiful views, charming decor. The beds were super comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. The house has a huge yard with an amazing view of the ocean. Norm was very quick in returning messages and he made everything so easy. We appreciated the local information on restaurants, etc. and we took them up on several. We loved all of them! Check-in and Check-out couldn't have been easier. Thank you for sharing this home with us!

Ocean getaway

We came back to this property and had another wonderful stay. The house is very comfortable and clean. It has everything: plenty of towels, even beach towels, three showers, including an outdoor shower. You can see the ocean from the yard and the windows. It's less than a mile from one of the most beautiful beaches in New England. You will love it here.

Everything was as advertised and Norm made himself immediately available if any issues should arise. None did. We will return to this property.

The cottage is cute and the view, while distant, is amazing. And dog friendly!

This cottage worked out great for us. We enjoyed the fireplace, but the house was toasty warm thanks to a new furnace. There were only two of us, but the house has plenty of space. We had just one issue with the TV and the caretaker helped us out immediately. Lots to see and do in the area even if the beaches weren't too inviting in March. A very positive experience!

great place to stay!!

property is a cute and cozy cottage with everything you need, close to the beach and just far enough away to be a nice quiet vacation. Newport is close by and a fun day trip as well as Massachusetts where I was able to catch up with family. it was wonderful to wake up and ride bikes to the beach , there are great restaurants nearby and the general store is a must see. local thrift shop was fun with a sweet couple running it. we love the property , it isn't the Ritz, but it is very clean, awesome location and comfortable. Norm was great , if we had any questions he answered promptly. We would love to go back again. thank you Norm!!!

Great Location

The house is small and quite cute. However, the house needs some serious maintenance. The garage door barely works & would not shut after a few days. The sliding doors leading to the patio are impossible to open/close if you are trying to carry food out. It is obvious that the Owners never visit the property. The property manager is very helpful & he lives very close by.

Thank you for letting us know about the sliding door. I checked it and it is heavy but slides well and we sprayed the track with silicone in addition . The garage has been closed for tenants use for years and we will put a lock on it so it can't be opened. Thanks again.

The house was just what we needed for the short week stay. No frills but clean and had what we needed. Clean beds, clean floors, nice towels, shampoo/soap, paper products and some pantry staples all provided. Fans were sufficient though it was still very stuffy on a few humid days. Very thankful they accept dogs. One star removed just for funky water smell in main bathroom and many screens with holes throughout making it hard to be bug free. Kitchen cooking utensils could use an upgrade and maybe another big bowl or two and a larger fry pan. Easy to figure out garbage/laundry and nice to be able to sit outside and grill as well. The large lawn is very nice. While we didn’t use south shore beach it’s a wonderful location for those who would and walking distance to a great market. I would definitely recommend this property and stay again.

Great location

The location is amazing- very quiet, safe streets with a view to the ocean and beach. The house is very comfortable- the primary bedroom especially. The owner/ manager lives very close and responded to a kitchen issue within an hour, and the problem was solved the next morning! It required a plumber. The lawn is great for kids to play. The internet was very spotty and sometimes didnt work at all, though ive heard thats common in this area. I did feel the house could use a bit more of an in depth cleaning- it was mostly fine but the tub and closets could use some attention. Still much better than other places we've stayed though!

Perfect Stay in Little Compton

We had an amazing week in Little Compton. This house is perfectly located in a neighborhood near the beach where we could take walks and our daughter could ride her bike. We loved the big yard and the outdoor shower!
