SOUTH RIVER GUEST HOUSE
The perfect place for a medium to large family getaway!

South River Guest House is located in the South River Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just minutes from Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, VA. The entire Guest House has been freshly renovated, refurnished and expanded while maintaining its original country charm.
South River Guest House has a full width front porch with bench swing and rocking chairs looking out over the pasture to the South River to compliment incredible mountain views from nearly every window.
This property features four bedrooms and four baths:
• First floor bedroom with ensuite; king bed
• Second floor south-side bedroom with ensuite: queen bed
• Second floor north-side bedroom with ensuite: queen bed
• Second floor north-side bedroom: 2 twin beds
We have expanded the family room to include the large kitchen and a formal dining room!
• Kitchen features a breakfast bar island & granite counters, gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, dishwasher, & French door refrigerator over freezer drawer
• Formal dining room next to Great Room; seats eight; outstanding view of the mountains
• Great Room contains couch, love seat, arm chair, sitting area near window, 60" flat screen Dish TV - online streaming services available
The Guest House also features:
• Side by side washer/dryer units in utility room off of the kitchen
• Free Wi-Fi access, contact hosts for password
• Plenty of towels, bed sheets, soap, and toilet paper
• Safety equipment including a fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a first aid kit

South River Guest House is attached to the owners' main house but is separated by a locked connecting hallway. It is a complete home unto itself with its own entrances. We totally respect your privacy but will always be available for your questions or conversation about things to do in the area.

Adorable farmhouse stay

The location and views of this farmhouse were incredible. We stayed here for a wedding at early mountain vineyard which was a short 15 minute ride down the road. Everything was as listed and had everything we needed for our short weekend. The owners also left a dozen eggs from their farm in the fridge for our arrival which was a thoughtful touch.

Charming, cozy and peaceful.

We loved staying here while in town with family for a wedding. The home was set on a beautiful farm with lovely landscaping and views. We enjoyed the big dining room which featured a huge window overlooking the property. We appreciated the comfortable, clean linens on the beds well as ample, fresh towels. There was plenty of space to spread out an hang with our family. It is an old home which has its quirkiness but also lots of charm. Thanks for the hospitality. We may be back when we return to Virginia.

Wonderful mountain views at and comfortable home

We enjoyed a family gathering for 2 nights. Everyone enjoyed the front porch, large dining table, cozy beds, and the walk down the long driveway with beautiful mountain views. We hope to be able to stay again!

Vacation stay

We stayed here on the last leg of our vacation and we loved it. The house was very peaceful and welcoming and we loved our visit with Ollie. If we are back in the area, we would definitely stay here again!

Perfect home base for exploring Shenandoah National Park

Really enjoyed staying here with friends to hike in Shenandoah and hunker down for NFL playoffs at night. This farm house has character, comfort, amenities, and is located in a beautiful environment. I look forward to coming back.

Virginia Get Away

We enjoyed the peace and beauty of the property. This was our second visit and we hope to visit again. The house has farm house charm with updated kitchen appliances and bathrooms. The view from the front porch is beautiful! Highly recommend!

Fantastic!

This property is adorable, cozy, and comfortable. We stayed for the weekend to celebrate a friend's wedding at Lydia Mountain Lodge, which was a quick 15 min trip. Judy was very accommodating and easy to communicate with, and we really enjoyed our stay. I would 100% recommend this property to others and I hope to be able to visit again in the future!

Beautiful weekend!

This was our third visit to South River Farm, it’s one of our favorite destinations for a family getaway! The space is clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. The farm is beautiful and provides a peaceful backdrop. We will definitely be back again!

Awesome Girls Trip!

This is an AMAZING property! The house is beautiful and very well stocked! The beds were so comfortable and we all raved about them! Getting up in the morning, we enjoyed having coffee on the porch and listing to the cows speak to each other. This is a very special piece of property and to have all of the bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing! We had such a wonderful time and look forward to staying again in the future!!

Relaxing on a farm

Beautiful house…very cozy and comfortable! Nice amenities! Great space for 5 adults on a wine weekend! Loved waking up to the cows mooing and coffee on the porch! Would stay her again for sure!!

Perfect Place to Stay

Can’t say enough. It was exactly as described and then some. Beautiful property, amazing views. The space was perfect for three adult couples. We had the best time and enjoyed all the different areas to socialize. We loved the large table overlooking the mountains, the front porch views, and the back patio too. Bedrooms were spacious and beds extremely comfortable. We will be back and share this place with others too.

Spacious, charming home in bucolic setting

8 adults enjoyed this beautiful, comfortable home for a wedding weekend at a nearby winery. The home exceeded our expectations with spacious living area, comfortable beds, plush towels and magnificent views. We all commented on how relaxed the peaceful farm setting made us feel and watching the sunset over the spectacular blue ridge mountains from the porch was an unexpected treat. The host was responsive and gracious, providing delicious fresh eggs and banana chip bread. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing property with stunning views

We came into town for a wedding at Early mountain winery. Place was super close and perfect. We needed three full bathrooms for our group of six. We were surprised with the eggs and banana bread waiting for us. Was nice to have breakfast food available as we got in very late and no time to get provisions on our way from airport. Judy also brought us more eggs and hangers to use for hanging out wedding attire. Views from front porch were stunning this time of year. We would visit again in a heartbeat!! Ollie the farm pup is adorable and fun to play ball with.
