The property is as advertised. The location is outstanding, the view is great and the private beach is a rare find. As some others have pointed out, it is an older property, and that might not be what some folks are looking for. The host is very responsive and helpful.

Our fifth stay at the Dolphin this year. Going back next month. Quaint house in an incredible location. Host Mike is responsive when needed. Been coming there for over 6 years

What a View!!! The home was very comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The host was responsive to our needs.

Beach access is excellent! Beds were comfortable. Water pressure for showers was excellent! Host was easily available and quickly solved an issue.

This is our first time staying at the frisky dolphin. Beautiful private beach setting and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Pet friendly a plus! The house is nicely kept with all the conveniences available. Lovely deck and screen porch. The beds were very comfortable too. Only thing I would suggest to change would be the living room furniture. It was a little uncomfortable to sit for a period of time. Other than that we really enjoyed our time there and looking forward to a return trip in the future.

Too much to list. If you want a worn out cabin along the Chesapeake Bay, this is for you. Safety issues... Gas grill on wood deck.. 8" space between horizontal rails ofdeck. This place is just worn out Look elsewhere .

We are sorry that the home was not the right fit for your preferences. This is a family home belonging to our 94-year-old grandmother, and while we clearly acknowledge that it is an older, more traditional home—not a newly constructed or recently renovated luxury property-we have had many guests and families throughout the years appreciate its breathtaking view, comfortable accommodations, and cozy simplicity. We take every guest’s comfort seriously and responded promptly to the concerns raised during your stay. When the indoor temperature reached 76 degrees while the outdoor temperature was unseasonably hot at nearly 100 degrees, we immediately sent HVAC technicians to the property and took every reasonable step to keep you comfortable. It is worth noting that our HVAC technicians were immediately uncomfortable due to the tone and language that was used during their efforts to help. We also take safety concerns seriously. The comments regarding the use of the grill on the deck were reviewed, and determined to be safe and within Virginia code. Although we regret that the home did not meet this guest’s expectations, we invite anyone seeking a comfortable, safe, and charming Chesapeake Bay stay to review the property description and photographs and consider booking with us. We will continue working hard to provide every guest with a welcoming and enjoyable experience. Let our hundreds of positive reviews and repeat clients guide you towards booking your stay with us.

The private beach is outstanding. Beds were comfortable but many outlets did not work, there was no light in the loft area, no working smoke detectors, and the Wi-Fi did not work. With some upgrades, it would make for a perfect beach getaway.

This truly was a paradise! The house is on a private beach and the people are very friendly! Being able to bring our dog along absolutely made this trip even more special! The deck overlooks the water and made a wonderful place to relax. Many golf courses nearby for the guys! The host was very friendly and communicative. Will book again!

I had a wonderful weekend getaway at the Frisky Dolphin! The house is so cozy; the view is fantastic; and the beach is wonderful! There were also accommodations (baby gates, toys, pack and play, high chair and more) for children which is so helpful; next time I’m bringing my grand babies! The host was very timely with communications!

The house was as shown on web page. Clean with a lot of extra amenities, small, unexpected things. Spices, laundry items, etc WouldBook again if traveling to this area.

That view!!! More than enough parking. Very friendly neighbors. We loved the room just inside of the front door in which we unpacked the car. The furniture in the sitting area is a little dated, but that view! If you're 5' 9", be careful of the kitchen cabinets in the dining area...but that view! Excellent hot water. And very comfortable beds. A little disappointed about the lack of a charcoal grill, the missing screen on the front deck and lack of lounge chairs on rear deck, but that view!!! The bay sounds and views make up for some minor inconveniences.

We enjoyed our stay at the Frisky Dolphin. The location at the beach made for a perfect weekend. Our dog, Daisy loved being able to explore the beach with it being so secluded on the private area. Rooms were large and open. Everything was clean and comfortable. Contact with the owner was easy and much appreciated. My wife and I come back to the area about 5 times a year to visit our grandchildren. We will definitely book again.
