Our go-to place when visiting Portland

We’ve stayed here twice and it’s our favorite place for a weekend in Portland. Centrally located in the Eastside neighborhoods and walking distance to innumerable shops and restaurants, plus several grocery stores. Unit is spacious, with a very well stocked kitchen and 2 full baths. We were able to entertain friends for dinner. Even though it’s an ADU, the layout is private and you feel like you have your own house. Recommended for anyone seeking a Portland getaway.

Great location; European styling

Residential neighborhood, clean and comfortable. Kitchen is great for breakfast and small gatherings. All the basics included. New bathrooms. Comfortable bed. Could use a few more mugs and a lighter weight blanket as an option. Whole house fan vibration takes some getting used to. Would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful Cottage!

We were in Portland for a 10 day trip to visit our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. We loved everything about this space and had a great experience! I would highly recommend to any traveler. Natalie was awesome to work with and quickly responded to questions. The cottage was spotless and well appointed. There is a lot of natural light and the whole space felt open, bright and airy. We instantly felt comfortable and at home. The king bed in the upstairs bedroom was super comfortable with plenty of pillows. We unpack when we travel and were delighted to have ample closet space and hangers. There were remote controls upstairs and downstairs that made it super easy to control the temperature. Natalie provided clear instructions in the cottage on how to use them. We loved having the washer/dryer available and it allowed us to pack much lighter than we normally would have. It was just the two of us but it was still really great to have two very nice bathrooms. My husband took the upstairs bathroom and I set myself up in the downstairs bathroom. One of my favorite things about the cottage was the heated bathroom floors. Such a treat! We visited in early November and had some cold and rainy days so we were not outdoors as much as we would have liked but the cottage is in a really great location for walking to restaurants and shops. We rented a car for this trip and had no trouble parking on the street right in front of the house. I worked remotely the second week we were there and the fiber optic high speed internet was reliable and plenty fast. Thanks Natalie! We will definitely stay here again!

Eastern Portland Fall Stay

This rental was perfect for us: walkable neighborhood with many choices for coffee shops, restaurants and access to western Portland as well. The house was clean, we could always find a parking spot right in front and a perfect size for the two of us. Highly recommend this little gem in Portland.

The house was amazing!

My husband and I loved our stay. It was, by far, our best away from home stay. The home was so spacious, well thought out and planned, loved the two walk-in showers, large bedroom, and very large kitchen. Absolutely beautiful home and so many amenities!!

If you’re tempted by this one, snag it! Immaculate, very cool interior, super comfortable and such a great neighborhood. Rode City Bikes all over town. Property owners super responsive, but not intrusive. Really, the pictures say it all.

Great location and clean home!

We absolutely adore the Hawthorne/Division area and this home was perfectly located between the two lively streets, just a block and a half away from yummy restaurants and cute shops. The home is immaculate and seems much more roomy than the pics even portray. We enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again!

Great locations

Well designed and well stocked property. Fabulous location. Parking is easy (I was worried about that). Easy communication with host. There are a few small things that need to be looked at. The upstairs shower drains slowly, which results in a dangerously slippery shower floor. It's amazingly quiet, but something beeps episodically. It was driving my husband and daughter crazy, but I couldn't hear it. The knob on the downstairs shower is loose and falls off. Otherwise, perfect.

We are a family of four with two elementary aged boys, and we've lived in the house next door since 2008. Justin is a high school science teacher and started a hands-on science program, complete with a farm, commercial kitchen and wood shop. Natalie is a local Realtor with Living Room Realty, and loves providing clients with upmost service and expertise in the local real estate market. We've lived in this neighborhood together since 2000, except for one year spent abroad in Switzerland, where we had our first born child. We love to travel to as many places as we can squeeze in each year, focusing on nature and cultural experiences for our kids. When we're home, we enjoy hiking, skiing, playing with our sweet golden doodle, and cooking from scratch with as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.

We built this house in 2016 when the City of Portland started to provide incentives for building mother-in-law types of units in the heart of the city. We fell in love with this idea and the potential rental benefit it offered in the short term and the opportunity of retiring in it full-time in the long term. We hired our friend and local architect who spent countless hours dreaming up a layout that is both functional and beautiful in 800 square feet. Click this link for more info on our process:

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

We went all out with the design and quality of this home when we built it. Every light switch, fixture, design element were thought of and executed by me and based on what I love about a house. The challenge was to design a home that flows well and is modern and luxurious, while remaining functional and comfortable: we did not want an overly cold, stiff and boxy new build. One of the most energy efficient houses in the neighborhood, the insulation is tight and the materials behind the walls are well above code. The single-wall kitchen features European high end appliances with every little detail thought of. The upstairs bedroom is a sanctuary, with high ceilings, a huge closet, a tiny balcony for light, and stained glass I designed to add color into the space. The bathrooms are luxurious, with heated tile, never ending hot water and great pressure in the showers.
