A few steps down from the garden patio and yard is this unique space in the heart of Belmont/Hawthorne. A clean, modern place w/ 9' ceilings, solar energy and radiant floors--part of a beautifully renovated, 128 year old house. Easy to walk, hop a bus, or grab a Car-to-Go to get anywhere in Portland. Straight shot to downtown, bus stop half a block in either direction. Enjoy a short walk to Hawthorne's unique shops, or walk a few hundred meters to the Belmont Dairy Block where you find a new, soon to arrive grocery store, and a handful of popular, new restaurants. Food carts are sprinkled throughout this fun neighborhood! Division and the newly popular SE 28th St. restaurants are close by. Please note: this space is a bedroom and bathroom with it's own outdoor entrance off the stone patio.

Great home base

Second time we stayed here while exploring Portland. Clean, comfortable and great location. Nice outside space and the neighborhood can’t be beat. Never an issue parking.

Weekend fun

The place itself was perfect for me and my two girls-the owners were fabulous and the studio setup was great-basically a full kitchen! The only drawback was that parking was on the street and not always close, which was a sight challenge with the kids. Most likely because I live in the countryside and we just aren’t used to it.

Deb is an amazing host!

Deb is hands down the best host. Kind, friendly, helpful. Was able to check in early without an issue. She gave us tons of food and drink recommendations, hikes and even thrift stores. House was immaculate. Centrally located. Will definitely be back.

Location could hardly be better

Came for a night to see a friend's art show and check out Winter Lights Festival. Great location, could even drop off leftovers before going to the next event. Comfortable space. Warm floors! Great host

Portland girls trip!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The accommodations were great, we felt very safe in the location. Beds comfortable, extra towels provided along with bathroom amenities, and a cute little kitchen with all the basics. Our first night we went on the Shanghai Underground Tour and had a late night Spanish Coffee and appetizers at Hubers. Very fun. Make sure to visit the little store that fronts this property, it’s great. Then you can head a few blocks East for more shopping and lots of food and beverage options. Our second night we chose Sugar Hill and had fun cocktails and an awesome burger and fries, super affordable during their happy hour. We saw many other places and things we want to do and look forward to coming back again.

Loved it here. Such a sweet little place to relax and hang out! It definitely feels like a sleepover when me and my friends were staying here. 100 for the water that heated up really quickly!!!

Fun weekend getaway

This was our first time spending our annual holiday shopping weekend in Portland and we will definitely be going back. Deb was a fantastic host and the apartment was super cozy and in a great location. We couldn't have asked for more, and at the price, it's an absolute steal!

Awesome little house!

This place was so cute! Two beds and a full kitchen but it didn’t feel cramped. Right next to some restaurants and close to downtown. Check-in was super easy and the host was very responsive. I’d definitely stay here again!

Fun and lively

This was the perfect spot. It is in an up and coming area with tons of cute shops and restaurants. I highly recommend daily fuel and planet . It was so yummy. Multnomah falls and the gorge were must see. Cannon beach was a long drive, but certainly worth it. Mt hood was beautiful and worth the drive as well. The beds were comfortable and deb was amazing. She even went outside and grabbed my wallet that i had dropped. She goes above and beyond for her guests. The whole area is cute and fun. There is also a market 2 blocks down that has everything you need and more. The food was so fresh everywhere. I would say all the restaurants in the area were amazing. I would also recommend washington park and the zoo. So fun. The shops were cool and they even had a little arcade movie place for kiddos. Would definitely stay again. There is a little bit of smoke smell in the neighborhood as pot is legal. Just a call out in case anyone forgets or is super sensitive like my sister. Also, be ready to parallel park. That was funny if you dont do it to often. Thanks deb for a great time. Slept well, eat a ton, and had a blast. foffornfood. Soo

Belmont Street Adventure.

We were visiting my son that lives in Portland. We are from South Louisiana and we are always amazed at the exponential growth of flora in Portland so we enjoyed walking parks, neighborhoods, restaurants and Belmont kept us entertained and fed well.

Quaint and Quiet

Our rental on Belmont Street was great. Cute basement level unit that was cute and cozy. Deb responded quickly to any questions and was there to greet us upon arrival. Lots of restaurant options nearby made it a great location as well:

Nice place in a great location

The apartment was spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed. There was a lovely outdoor space. The neighborhood had lots of great restaurants just steps away. The property owner was helpful and gave us some great suggestions for the area.

Cool basement!

Deb is an amazing, responsive host. When I had mixed up our travel dates, she met me with kindness and flexibility. Towels & pillows were generous, clean and fluffy. We were so happy to finally find a comfortably firm bed that doesn't engulf you with unnecessary pillow toppers. Also, super quiet; not a bump nor thump from upstairs guests. My spouse and I really look forward to returning here for a longer stay in this lovely walkable location.

Great stay on Belmont

We had a great stay at Deb's place. The place was clean, the beds were super comfy, and the location was convenient to all of Southeast Portland. We were always able to find street parking right in front of the place. We will look to stay here again the next time we visit Portland.

The 'small city, big town' aspect of Portland is what drew us to Portland 25 years ago. I'm a Montana girl who loves the vibrancy of an urban atmosphere and the culture of both the countryside and the town. My husband Chuck and I have partnered on many projects through the years. He currently lives on site, and I live a mile away. We continue to enjoy working together and have put a lot of love into the Portland Belmont House. We now enjoy sharing it with others.

We bought this property because of its location, bones and vibes! 128 years of stories to tell. A diamond in the rough with unique character and hidden elegance made it a place worth putting our heart and soul into renovating. Solar panels, stagger studded walls, and ample insulation look to the future while the main floor 8' pocket doors, original fir floors, and intricately carved wood work reveal the past. All new electric and plumbing, and sound absorption channels between floors, help remove the unnecessary aggravations of the past to better enjoy the beauty of the space. Reminder: it is a one house duplex, and the sounds of people above can be heard. Some guests hardly notice. For a guest who is bothered by hearing movement above, the soothing sounds of the small noise machine will help.

The Belmont House provides a quiet, comfortable home stay within a vibrant, fascinating part of Portland. We are 3 blocks from the famous Sunflower Intersection at SE 33rd and Yamhill, a uniquely Portland part of Portland. The house charms people. The great yard, patio, barbecue, (and fire pit too!) make a person feel out in the countryside, yet, only a block and a half away are the shops, world class, affordable restaurants, gourmet grocery stores, food carts galore. Public transportation is a stone's throw away. Drive down the street and you are in downtown Portland in 4 minutes. Everything you need right out your door.
