A few steps down from the garden patio and yard is this unique space in the heart of Belmont/Hawthorne. A clean, modern place w/ 9' ceilings, solar energy and radiant floors--part of a beautifully renovated, 128 year old house. Easy to walk, hop a bus, or grab a Car-to-Go to get anywhere in Portland. Straight shot to downtown, bus stop half a block in either direction. Enjoy a short walk to Hawthorne's unique shops, or walk a few hundred meters to the Belmont Dairy Block where you find a new, soon to arrive grocery store, and a handful of popular, new restaurants. Food carts are sprinkled throughout this fun neighborhood! Division and the newly popular SE 28th St. restaurants are close by. Please note: this space is a bedroom and bathroom with it's own outdoor entrance off the stone patio.

We loved the Belmont house! It was really nice to have a little kitchen, and a little outdoor space for the kids to play! It felt really safe, and it was so fun to have shops and restaurants right there. Deb was wonderful, great at responding and was so understanding and kind. Highly recommend!

Staying at the Belmont/Hawthorne Urban Retreat was delightful! The space itself has high ceilings and a full kitchen. With all of the shops nearby we had all we needed for our stay. Deb was communicative and check in was a breeze. Overall I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone interested in staying in the Belmont/Hawthorne area.

Everything - from the positive interactions messaging Deb to the lush green property and charming basement apartment within walking distance of so much great shopping and eating - was the perfect way for my daughter and me to see Portland for the first time. We felt so cozy spending our down time here after lots of walking and rested well in the comfortable beds. So many cute and convenient features and accomodations. Thanks, Deb!

The apartment was cute and clean; it had everything we needed and very comfortable! The location is great, close to many shops and restaurants but tucked up on the hill where it's quiet and felt very safe! The hosts were great as well - we would stay again!

The 'small city, big town' aspect of Portland is what drew us to Portland 25 years ago. I'm a Montana girl who loves the vibrancy of an urban atmosphere and the culture of both the countryside and the town. My husband Chuck and I have partnered on many projects through the years. He currently lives on site, and I live a mile away. We continue to enjoy working together and have put a lot of love into the Portland Belmont House. We now enjoy sharing it with others.

We bought this property because of its location, bones and vibes! 128 years of stories to tell. A diamond in the rough with unique character and hidden elegance made it a place worth putting our heart and soul into renovating. Solar panels, stagger studded walls, and ample insulation look to the future while the main floor 8' pocket doors, original fir floors, and intricately carved wood work reveal the past. All new electric and plumbing, and sound absorption channels between floors, help remove the unnecessary aggravations of the past to better enjoy the beauty of the space. Reminder: it is a one house duplex, and the sounds of people above can be heard. Some guests hardly notice. For a guest who is bothered by hearing movement above, the soothing sounds of the small noise machine will help.

The Belmont House provides a quiet, comfortable home stay within a vibrant, fascinating part of Portland. We are 3 blocks from the famous Sunflower Intersection at SE 33rd and Yamhill, a uniquely Portland part of Portland. The house charms people. The great yard, patio, barbecue, (and fire pit too!) make a person feel out in the countryside, yet, only a block and a half away are the shops, world class, affordable restaurants, gourmet grocery stores, food carts galore. Public transportation is a stone's throw away. Drive down the street and you are in downtown Portland in 4 minutes. Everything you need right out your door.
