Max's Beach Retreat is a large luxury vacation rental 1.5 blocks from the sparkling waters and white sands of Cherry Grove Beach in North Myrtle Beach. The house was completely updated spring 2023. All new furniture throughout. Amazing "Backyard Oasis" Large pool, spa and grill/bar with plenty of outdoor space. The house is very spacious containing 2,300 sq ft of living space, 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths with a private pool. There is a huge outdoor patio and 3 decks! It has an open, modern floor plan with an updated kitchen. The house has brand new furniture and premium mattresses as of 2020 and has been completely updated and painted. We have installed new showers in two of the bathrooms in the fall of 2019. We have Wi-Fi and Direct TV with new flat screen TVs in all of the bedrooms and living room. Downstairs there is a large lounging area as your make your way to the salt water pool and relaxing under the house patio. Max's Beach Retreat sleeps up to 10 with a large master suite with king bed, second master bedroom with king bed, a third bedroom with a queen bed, and a fourth bedroom with 2 queen beds. The master suite bath has a Jacuzzi tub as well as a shower. Max's is dog friendly (it would have to be, it is named after our little buddy Max!) so bring the furry ones too! The house features key less entry with washer and dryer on the 2nd floor. One and 1/2 blocks from the beach and within walking to many restaurants and stores. The home was built in 2007 and the house, pool and deck area were completely updated and remodeled in 2019. A great place to relax with over 2,000 sq feet of outdoor living space. The cleaning fee includes a full linen package, we also have 4 beach chairs for your group to use at the beach! If you are looking at dates more than 6 months in the future please reach out for a quote. If you book with us (which we hope you do) we send our short term rental agreement to your email address via docusign, and will email you access instructions a day or two before your stay.

Max’s Brach Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The pool and hot tub were great and the walk to the beach very close! We could all sit together in the living room to talk, play games and enjoy each others company! There was one small issue with the pool and Jamie took care of it right away! We would definitely return another time!

Excellent Family Stay

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at this beach house over the week of the 4th of July. The house was very clean and had all that you could ask for. Two blocks from the beach and two blocks away from grocery store. Pet friendly and family friendly, great place to stay!

Humphreys 1st Family vacation

The property is exactly as listed and our adult family and dogs had a great time. It was a short walk to enjoy the beach. The pool was a great place for all of us to re-group at the end of the day. We would highly recommend this house for your stay.

All I can say is wow. This house was clean, well furnished, and in a great location. Everything was as promised. We even got to meet the owners and they were so nice. You can tell by the level of detail that they want a quality experience for their renters.

Beautiful Home

This was a perfect rental, they thought of everything. Kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfy. House was very clean. We loved the pool and hot tub. Beach was a quick walk and was beautiful. Hosts were very easy to reach if needed.

"Absolutely fantastic stay! The location was perfect, just a stone's throw from the ocean and conveniently close to grocery stores and amenities. The house comfortably fit our family of eight, providing ample space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The pool was also an A+ for our kids. We couldn't have asked for a better spot for our vacation. House was clean and well equipped. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of linens. Host was quick to answer any questions we had and help if needed. House was a very short walk to the beach and to the local grocery store. Plenty of room and outside seating.

Perfect for 3 or 4 couples

This is a great rental for larger groups. A large, well-equipped kitchen, table for 6, large living room, large bedrooms - 2 with an ensuite. A great outdoor space in the back yard. The neighbourhood is very quiet - but very close to the beach. It's in North Myrtle Beach so not right in Myrtle Beach. But still close to plenty of shopping and golf courses. Highly recommend.

Just Beautiful!

From the modern, bright, super clean house to the smallest details such as the complimentary canvas tote bag, this rental was such a pleasant surprise. Located in the heart of Cherry Grove and walking distance from the famous Boulineau's, this place has it all! Jamie is a great host who responds quickly and gives informative directives about the home and great suggestions for local eats and treats. With 2 homes to visit, we will definitely be back. Thank you Jamie!

Fabulous family time

We had so much fun! This house is the prettiest best kept one in the neighborhood. Very well kept and beautifully decorated. Our host was so responsive! The heated hot tub and pool in the lighted back yard werd such a treat, even just to look at! Great property and an experience that was magically enjoyable.

Quick get away

My family and I really enjoyed Max’s Retreat. Everything listed was very accurate. Any issues we encountered Jamie was quick to respond and try to fix the issue. Location was perfect and very convenient We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect Location

Spacious house within walking distance to groceries, bars, ice cream parlors and less than 2 minute walk to the beach. Our family had a great time and will keep it in mind for the future. Property manager was very responsive and helpful with everything too!

Relaxing stay after a very hectic summer

We had a very laid back relaxing week off after a summer filled with long work hours and many events. Weddings, gatherings, and many commitments in general. It was nice to just sit in the sun.

Great October Getwaway

The place was perfect for a getaway to see our new grandbaby and relax for a week. The weather turned a little cooler but that just meant we took advantage of laying on the beach and hopping in the whirlpool! Boulineau's Foods is close by for just about anything you want for eating in and there's of plenty of restaurants to select what level of dining that suits you.

Great property

We couldn’t have chosen nicer accommodations for our group of three couples for a late September week of golf and fun. Max’s retreat was just as advertised. The property was very clean, a kitchen very well stocked, nice linen and towels, nicely decorated and plenty of room to spread out and relax. The pool and spa were an additional plus with the warm temps. Easy walk to the beach and grocery store and a great location for golfers with a range of courses nearby. The property owner made contact with us upon arrival to ensure everything was ok and was readily available if needed. Highly recommend this vacation property. No second thoughts about returning here.

AWESOME BEACH HOUSE

This was by far the BEST beach house we have stayed at. I don't know where to begin. A hurricane brought in 2 feet of flooding two days before our stay. Yet the pool was ready for use when we arrived. There was a slight snafu with the hot tub because of the hurricane, but it was also fixed quickly. Everyone loved the pool (especially our grandson) and the hot tub. We could not get access to the speaker volume control because the garage was locked and Jamie showed up immediately to unlock the door. It was so enjoyable to have music to grill, eat and swim to. The outside areas were outstanding. Three decks afforded us time to be by ourselves or to gather together. The patio area included a spacious grill, table, chairs, stools and a refrigerator; all shaded. There was also a comfy shaded lounging area with a constant breeze. This house was IMMACULATE. The kitchen was well appointed, having everything you could possibly need; the pots and pan were a grade above standard cookware. There was no cutting corners, as this rental is super nice. The towels were plush, the bed linens could stand to be upgraded (this is the only imperfection I could find). The size of this house was very comfortable for 7 adults and one child. The beach is only 1.5 blocks to the public access. This is our first time to Cherry Grove, and we found the beach to be very clean. My husband and I like a low-key, relaxing beach and we were not disappointed. We can't wait to return to Max's Beach Retreat!!

Great House, Noisy Week

The house was wonderful. It was nicely decorated and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and everything you needed to cook. We did not realize that we needed to bring our own beach/pool towels, soap, toilet paper, garbage bags etc. Avoid the IGA around the corner. The prices were outrageous. Walmart or Publix is less than 10 minutes away by car. We really appreciated the three sofas in the family room which allowed us all to gather together to talk and play games. The bedrooms were a good size. Both kings and one queen bed were quite hard for us-which required a trip to Walmart to buy foam pads. Excellent outdoor space! Loved the outdoor kitchen. Our family enjoyed being able to cook, dine, and relax outside. The jacuzzi heated quickly and was used frequently in the cooler weather. The beach was about a 5 minute walk. The wagon came in handy to pull all the gear. CON: We had no idea that it was Motorcycle Week. I sure wish we had been warned as we would have chosen different dates. We loved the house, but nobody got a good night's sleep the entire vacation. There was very heavy motorcycle traffic and noise (revving of engines) at all hours of the night. If you are a light sleeper, or are looking for peace and quiet, I would recommend choosing a different week.

Thank you for considering Max's Beach Retreat, it is owned by Marla and Jamie. We live in Myrtle Beach as of 12/2020. We moved from Alexandria VA (a plan which was in the works for the last few years) and are really excited to be close to Max's!. Marla is an innovation expert for a large tech company and Jamie is a sales executive for a publishing company. Marla was born and raised in sunny South Florida and Jamie is from the cold, winter grey Detroit area. We met in Florida, moved to the DC area in 2004 and now are in Myrtle Beach, we love it here and love Cherry Grove!
