The house was as described and looked like the pictures. The living room was roomy and we were able to see the ocean. The kitchen had everything you could use and more. Sets of dishes, pots and pans, cutting boards, glasses, and serving platters. The rooms were all clean and had plenty of pillows, towels, and room for personal items. The host was very helpful and the office was easy to find.

Excellent home with spectacular ocean views throughout the home. A great deck with super comfortable furniture on the top level. Beds are very comfortable. When you walk into the house, you know you’re in for a treat with those ocean views. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need.

The views were some of the best we’ve ever had of the Cambria coastline, and we love the proximity to Fiscalini and all of our favorite spots. The kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy family meals, and the kids enjoyed the private loft and fun board games. Scenic Coast Rentals does an amazing job - we won’t rent from anyone else.

I’ll start off by saying how nice this property is. House was clean comfortable and very relaxing. Close to great hikes but far enough away from town that you didn’t feel you were stuck with a lot of tourist attractions. Just a short drive to great restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend this place. Spectacular ocean views with comfortable furniture indoors and on decks for relaxing. Great selection of books to read and enjoy. Decor was classy and well thought out. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house did not disappoint. Looks just like the pictures and delivers on ambiance. It was clean and tidy, with lots of throw blankets to cuddle up under. Great for families or couples. The only thing we missed was shampoo and conditioner - we were told they would be there, but we couldn't find any. Also, very short driveway, so be aware.

Well the property was amazingly roomy for 6 people, very clean and well kept. The ocean view was fantastic.

The house is comfortable, nicely layed out, with awesome views of the ocean from most every room. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck. The location is great, in a quirt neighborhood, near the trails and close to downtown Cambria. Enjoyed our time in this house immensely; we will try to reserve "Whale Watchers" again next Summer.

This was our second stay in the same year. This house has everything we need. It’s the perfect getaway. Just booked another stay for May 2023. Cannot wait!

The headline is the family room/dining area/kitchen, which connects seamlessly to a great deck with views of the ocean. The comfortable furniture inside and out was of a good quality that never felt cheap. The house, in general, felt that way. Clean and well appointed, including the kitchen. The house felt loved by its owners and as a result, we felt welcomed and appreciated as renters. I could tell items noted by previous renters were taken care of and no longer an issue. The neighborhood was great and perfect for walking to the water or to Fiscalini park. We will very likely return for future rentals.One small item that is easily fixed: there were some screws in that great deck that need tightening. They’re poking up and I was concerned someone might injure a foot out there. Otherwise, thanks to the owners for your part in a wonderful stay!

Christmas at Cambria

We loved this house based on its location and view of the ocean. The kitchen especially is generously supplied with high end cooking equipment in addition to generous supplies provided - towels, blankets, fans, pillows, paper goods and condiments including crushed ice and coffee.The home is decorated beautifully with whale/ocean theme decor.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent fabulous week in this house with family from the midwest. The kitchen is well-equipped and the house is clean and comfortable. We spent many hours out on the deck enjoying the fantastic view and beautiful weather. We even watched a Spacex launch. The only downsides are a double bed rather than a queen in one of the bedrooms and very limited parking. We’ve already planned two more stays at this beautiful house for 2026.

Fantastic balcony and views

The house was as described - great views, well stocked kitchen, and lots of room in the main part of the house. For those that want to know, the main bedroom has a king bed, the other two rooms have full/double beds. I wish they would have put that in the description. There was no way to reach out to the management company within the VRBO App before booking which is a negative, but other than that, the house was clean, the location great, the views spectacular! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our stay at the Whale Watcher

We found the property clean and well stocked for our needs. The house is very comfortable with a beautiful view. How ever the garage was too small for our ford F150 and it barely fit length wise in the driveway. It would have been helpful to know that it was more suited for a smaller vehicle. when the garage door quit working the management addressed it in a timely manner. Overall, we would recommend this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is so well-kept and beautifully appointed and decorated. The view is gorgeous. Only slight disadvantage is the lack of parking (the garage is small and the driveway is short; don't bring a large vehicle if you can help it; there is roadside parking about 3 house lengths away). Having the bedrooms all downstairs allows family "vacation mess" to be contained and the main floor and loft to feel company ready and serene with three different conversation or get-away areas all with a spectacular ocean view! Thank you to our wonderful "host-ghosts"! Your TLC was noticed.

Relaxing Vacation

We even got to see a launch from Vandenburg. The kitchen has everything we need and the natural gas barbecue is a plus. The bedrooms are nice. We have already reserved this house for our next trip. Only a couple downsides. Parking is very limited. The queen bedroom could use a new mattress. The third bedroom is only a double bed.

Whale watching and comfort

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very cozy and perfectly positioned house, perfect for a couple or, large enough for 6 adults. The house is furnished very comfortably with a large sectional couch in the living room (in front of the large fireplace) and, upstairs in the TV loft - two couches and an armchair. Perfect for a night in to watch a film. Outside on the deck are two swivel rocking chairs and a large sofa. Thick outdoor cushions are provided for those. The kitchen is incredibly well appointed with enough pots and pans to cook just about anything. There is plenty of everything in that kitchen. We loved the open concept of the living spaces. Dining table is large too. Downstairs are three cozy bedrooms. All rooms have smart TV’s, and comfortable beds. There is a shaded deck off the master bathroom and one of the guest rooms. The owner provided plenty of plush towels. A washer and dryer is conveniently located in the guest bathroom. We loved this home with its vast views of the ocean. The whales put on quite a show! We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely house. The house has been very well maintained and was immaculate. Would highly recommend this house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Whale Watcher many times over the last few years. We love the house. The owners might want to be aware that the sink in the secondary bathroom has a stopper that needs repair. Also, the floor mat in the master bath is missing. It's difficult to step out onto a cold, hard tile floor after a shower. The dishwasher is unbalanced in its space making it hard to turn it on. These are minor but we thought it might be something the owners would want to know about.
