Barnacle 1028 Square foot house, comfortably accommodate 8 guests. This property is a terrific size and layout for a family or group of friends escaping to the beach. Resembling a Cape Cod-style cottage, this quaint home features beautiful open beam ceilings, cozy furnishings, and big windows to enjoy the gulf views. Fully equipped kitchen with dining table, dishwasher, microwave and drip coffee maker.

Walk to the Beach -This house is located 2nd house from beach front.

All the amenities you need to feel relaxed during your stay are here, including Cable TV/DVD, Central A/C & Heat and Wireless Internet.
House also comes with beach toys, chairs and umbrellas for you to enjoy at the beach!
The Sea Isle subdivision amenities include restaurant, bar, and marina store. Pickleball court, playground, fishing pier and swimming pool for an additional fee.

Beautiful Location

We loved our stay!! A washer & dryer would have been nice to have, and the internet is not reliable, but these two things did not greatly impact our stay. It was still wonderful and we would certainly stay again!

Best Vacation Rental!

My family had the best time at this home. It was so cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. The beach was a 3 minute walk away, which was so helpful with a 2 year old and 5 year old. The beach area was private and clean as well. Definitely will be coming back!

Nice views

Location was great . In no way does the front home block your view. House is set up nicely. Stickers in yard do need removing & maybe fix broken outside shower or close it up. Other than that it was perfect for our family. Loved it.

Barnacle Stay Experience

Although there is a home that was built in front of the barnacle, the location was great and is still beach side front. Enjoyed the stay and home. Some complaints: - For the price paid, i'd expect a washer and dryer - Very minimal hand soap (mainly was old containers with soap mixed with water) - The internet was not maintenance and the bill was past due and i did not have wifi (no service at the home at all) - no hot water for the down stairs showers - had two towels for the whole house A note from one of the vrbo reviews: The AC unit can go under 72 degrees! It was very cold and comfortable inside the barnacle. ALSO!! The property managers clutched it out for me and I would recommend renting via Wolverton management. They make life easy and get to business. 5/5 for them!!! Thank you again!

Overall a great beach house

Overall the Barnacle was a great place to stay! It does have a new beach house located directly in front of it but there is still a view of the beach from the porch (and inside the house) and below the house. It basically sits on the beach. The inside of the house is cozy. It's small but had plenty of room even for 8 people. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware (but bring your own cooking essentials like salt and oil). The bedroom with the queen was actually more like a king size bed and it was very soft. The loft had two comfortable twins with comfortable trundles. The two main issues we had with the house were that: 1. The air conditioning unit is SUPER loud and shakes the house when it's on and 2. The two twin beds downstairs are very hard and therefore very uncomfortable.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We reserved and paid for a front row beach house. We like to sit on the porch to watch and listen to the waves. We like to wake up to the sound of the ocean. We were so excited! Weeks after we made and paid for our reservation, we were told that there was a lot that was just starting construction right in front of the house we had reserved, but that shouldn't obstruct the view. They have to start with the foundation and stilts before they really start building and framing. We were reassured that it was quiet and that that they weren't actively doing active construction. We tried looking for another property just in case they started working on it again, but all the front row houses were already taken by this point. When we arrived we found a nearly finished huge house completely blocking (75%) our view to the ocean. I talked to the new home's owner, he said they started construction 8 months ago. The property and property management company has been charging for and advertising this house deceitfully as a front row for 8 months! They did try to make small concessions by refunding us $67 on a 5 night stay. Only after I expressed frustration to the management company, did the homeowner say they would discount one night of our stay (which I never ended up actually getting). That doesn't make deceit and misrepresentation right or ok... FOR 8 MONTHS worth of guests!! We woke up to saws, nail guns and generators at 7am. Another thing that isn't disclosed is that this home is RIGHT on the main road that runs down the length of the island, so we also heard cars & loud music through the night, then paving and big construction vehicles from early morning through 5:30pm. I know they may not have been aware that the city was also going to lay asphalt on the driveway blocking us in. They also couldn't have known that there would be barking dogs next door either. I am still hoping to hear from Joel, the property manager to make things right. I'm happy to update this review then.

Great Family House on the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great house right on the beach! Much better than the pictures on the listing. We had 8 people and were very comfortable. There is a 1/2 bath and 2 showers downstairs that are not mentioned in the listing and were a great help for 8 people! There are also toys, chairs and umbrellas in the storage room to use at the beach. The beach is a very short walk from the house. The only complaints are that the A/C cannot be turned below 72 and that made it pretty warm for sleeping. Also the chairs op the balcony are the same height as the railing, so it completely blocks your view of the water. I would recommend some bar height chairs so you can enjoy the view! Would absolutely stay here again.

This was a very quaint cabin. Very charming. It had all that we needed. We have stayed beachfront before and it’s the only way to go. It’s close to a restaurant and two conviene stores… if you forget anything(which you will). Downside, it is right on the road and the master is on that side, and no washer dryer( but one across the street). Bring earplugs. Wish I had. Overall, the stay was great. We were the first beach fun, surf fishing and town shopping. The road near my room didn’t effect that. We love Galveston on the beachfront.

Weekend Getaway

Just got home form this cute cottage. It was perfect for our family of 4. Home was clean and cool when we arrived. The house has everything you need. It comes with linens, dishes, dish detergent, small travel shampoo/conditioner and hand soap. Each bed had a set of towels. Only downside was that the upstairs blankets smelled used. It could be that they have been sitting in that closet. The AC is set to 75 and my kids and I were very cold at night and the blankets smelled so we had to cover up with our towels. On a good note, the sheets smelled cleaned and fresh. The internet would cut off, but then again my cell phone service wasn't that great either. It's ok because you are there to unwind. The home has a very convenient shower downstairs as well as a very well stocked storage with a new bb grill, beach chairs, beach toys, shovels, umbrellas, and a toilet in case you need to go and not go back upstairs. We loved how close it was to the beach. I felt safe with my 7 and 3 year old kids running around the beach. Didn't have to worry about cars driving on the beach. No big crowds or drunk people around. It was all perfect for a family. I will say the rules say no loud music, but the people next door blasted music until after 1030pm. Overall, we really enjoyed it. Property managers are just a few miles away and they were very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.

Great Value and Comfort

Great value for beach front property and Gulf view. Master bed soft and comfy. The twin beds were more firm, but the kids didn't complain. Love the open kitchen/living space. Extra bath and showers down stairs were a great bonus.

Cute but Not worth the $

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I could certainly appreciate the decor in this cute little house. However for the $200+ a night, the house was certainly not worth the price tag. The tub in the very tiny bathroom had a ring of mold around it. The shower curtain was disgusting and the shower curtain continuously kept coming down and was very frustrating. Pots and pans musts have come from a yard sale. This house is only good for shorts stays as it does not have a washer & dryer. We had several days of rainy weather that came straight off the gulf. As a result we had to use a lot of towels to wipe up the hardwood floors at the only door off the gulf side porch. We had no way of drying all these towels. $200 a night I expect some high end finishes. Master closet was small & 1/2 full of dry cleaning.

Short but sweet getaway

This house was great for the 4 of us. Great location on the beach. It stated TV in loft, but there is not one. No big deal, but would have been nice. A fan up there would be great too. Couple things: front door handle could be replaced and a little deeper dusting (especially on vents). Overall, great place to spend a few days.

Great house......but...

The house is super cute. Great location. All in all it was a great stay. Beware, there were survey flags on the empty lot between the house and the beach. Looks like someone may build back there. If so, the view will be blocked. You may want to ask about that. The cons are really more personal preference but I thought I'd give this honestly. The master stayed much hotter than the rest of the house even with the door open and fan on. Also, I had to sleep on the couch since the bed is so soft. We did have some ants inside but it wasn't that big of a deal. The coffee pot was broke upon arrival, but property manager fixed that super fast. Great customer service. We really had a great time !!!
