Waterfront cottage 3bdrm


This cottage is on the water, overlooking beautiful Sturgeon Bay. Perfect place for fishing, kayaking, bonfires, biking... One block from Otumba Park's tennis, basketball, volleyball courts, playground, and a public beach. gorgeous walk to downtown Sturgeon Bay. The 3 bedrooms in the cottage hold a King, Queen, and a Full bed. Additional Queen and Full sized hide-a-beds are available so we can now accommodate up to 10 guests. Full kitchen dining room for dinner parties with lots of indoor/outdoor space for family cookouts, reunions, or weddings. Musical instruments, vinyl records, movies, games, and books can entertain if the weather keeps you indoors. 2000' waterfront sundeck and 5' fire ring. 84'' dock (June 15th until Sept 15),
I have built/rebuilt it with friends over the years with what I like to call "a hodgepodge collection of my emerging (and emergency) carpentry skills". My 12 year old son and I call Door County home year round and love to travel as much as possible during our guest stays. We hope that you will enjoy the cottage as much as we do. Guests of ALL AGES are ENCOURAGED to play the instruments in the music room. We love to hear it! In fact, feel free to use anything you find in and around the cabin: from tools, appliances, utensils, to the fire pit, and outdoor grills, or even the row boat or kayaks(at your own risk (during the day (and use life vests!))). We are not your typical waterfront rental.

There were a few things missing that were on the list. No Kurig, no hot pads and the boat lift not functional.

Thank you for the heads up. Sorry for any inconveniences. I replaced the Kurig with a regular coffee maker 3 years ago. The boat lift has not been functional since the big storm of Sept 29, 2011 (when I lost my boat). I rebuilt the 88’ marina grade dock about 5 years ago. I don’t think I’ve ever advertised the lift as an amenity. The hot pads are in the drawer next to the stove.

The a/c didn’t work. The place was ok. It was super hot all night. Only one fan. Beautiful view. It was ok.

Fair. I am so sorry I did not turn the AC on before your stay. It’s the time of the year in Door County that could be hot or cold and we hadn’t needed AC while cleaning the cottage, but it must have got warm later in the evening and it Is slow to cool from scratch. I will make sure the tempeture is set for future guests. Let me know about this incident if you ever decIde to stay with us again and I will try to make it up to you.

My friend's and I loved staying at this scenic waterfront cottage! The views were fantastic and the cottage provided a great space to hangout and relax both indoors and outdoors. Highly recommend!

Charming Cottage

The cottage was charming and very clean. Yes, as I read in other reviews it may be a bit dated, but that’s part of the charm. Would definitely stay there again.

Very pretty view of Sturgeon Bay. The big wide porch is a perfect spot to view boats and see the bridge and museum light up at night. There is a great vinyl collection in the living room if you want to play records too.The master bedroom has a big window also looking out over the bay, the other rooms are compact but the beds are very nice and comfortable.Only one bathroom and it doesn't have a fan, but it is a fairly decent size & the shower has a tub base. The kitchen is very spacious and has all types of cooking necesities.The music room was locked when we stayed which is a bummer, but they had guitars and a drum set and it looks like a lot of fun to jam.Great place to stay in Sturgeon Bay! Would highly recommend.

Our stay

We just want to say thank you so much!! We had an amazing time!!! there were plenty ofthings to do there, The property was clean and cozy felt like home away from home, and even brought happy child hood memories back! We definitely recommend!!! And we cannot wait to come back and make more memories!! Thank you so much our family had a great time!

Very family friendly. The old games and musical instruments were a hit with my grandkids. The owner had the pullout beds made up and ready which was a plus. The only negative was 7 people in one bathroom but we were fully aware of that going in.

Born and raised in Sturgeon Bay. I am a working singer songwriter. I have written many songs on steelbridgeradio.com ( a free online radio station that boasts over 2000 songs written and recorded here in Sturgeon Bay). I am also an on call wedding bartender. I imagine you get a pretty good idea of who we are when you stay here. We're living' the dream! I bought half of this cottage from my sister in 2008 after my father passed, and again from my ex-wife in 2011. We are hoping this new venture takes some of the burden off our monthly mortgage, utility, and maintenance expenses as well as giving us an opportunity to upgrade appliances and furnishings (and the roof). Thank you again for choosing to stay with us!!

My father was a teacher (like me) and bought this little fishing cottage in 1986 to dock his fishing boat and rented it to sailors, painters, ship builders, and working musicians for many years until he moved here in his retirement. He was also a charter fishing captain and restaurant owner. The cottage sometimes serves as a recording studio. Many local. regional, and national musicians have stayed here. The property has lots of local lore.
