Perfect place for absolute relaxation! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and rocking and listening to the Ellijay River and ate all of our meals on the screened in porch and watched the deer multiple times a day! Comfortable bed too. The little added pet amenities for sweet as well.

This cute little cabin on the river was the cleanest pet friendly stay. Our adult family had fun in the river with our granddog. The hot tub was clean. Will definitely be planning a return visit soon.

They are very helpful on booking the rental and answering any questions. We will definitely be back.

Enjoyable Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Cherokee Shoals. Our first time traveling with our dog, but it was so nice. Only two things to point out, some of the slats on the porch were a bit wide, our dog's head fit thru some of them, a small dog could definitely get thru and fall. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub was not hot on our first night. While I appreciate that the water is changed between guests, and sometimes scheduling will affect when the wate is changed, it was disappointing that the first night it felt more like a warm bath than a "hot tub". The 2nd night was great!

Great cabin. Loved having a fence for our like dogs. Cabin was immaculate and well maintained. Kitchen was abundantly furnished. A definite stay again place.

The toilets are very low to the ground and hard to get up for older people.

Prime Riverfront Location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was on a beautiful stretch of the Ellijay river. We loved just relaxing on the porch, listening to the sounds of the river and abundant wildlife. The cabin had very easy access to the river making it a breeze for our puppy to romp around in the water. The fenced in yard off the side porch was great for puppy playtime, too! The cabin was clean and comfortable for my family with a beautiful fire pit area. We got to see deer every single day during our stay as they visited the side yard for their breakfast and dinner. This is our second stay with Sliding Rock Cabins, and we loved it just as much as the first time!

Great stay!

The house was perfect for a group of four. We also had our four small dogs (note the front porch railing slots were wide enough that a small dog could fit through.) Very comfortable beds, clean and well stocked. We had a few issues with the hot tub jets and temps but still a lovely place.

Cherokee Shoals – A Wonderful Riverside Getaway!

Reviewer Comments: We've been renting cabins through Sliding Rock Cabins for close to 20 years, and Cherokee Shoals has definitely become one of our favorites!What makes this cabin truly special is its location on the river. Not only is it right on the water, but it's situated along a stretch where you can actually hear the beautiful sound of the flowing river 24/7. That's a huge plus for us! We've stayed at other riverside cabins where the water moves so slowly you can barely hear it. There's nothing quite like sitting on the porch, listening to the river, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.The cabin was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our weeklong stay. The beds and couches were comfortable, making it easy to feel right at home.The outdoor spaces were fantastic! The open back porch has four rocking chairs and two small tables overlooking the river. This was our favorite spot, and we spent countless hours relaxing there. The spacious screened-in side porch was another great feature, with a large dining table and four chairs, plus additional seating, a loveseat, and a smaller table.The fenced yard isn't particularly large, but it was clean and well-maintained. For some reason, our dogs weren't interested in going out there! That was fine with us since we enjoy walking them anyway, which we did a couple of times each day.We always look forward to our trips to the Ellijay area and try to visit at least once a year. Cherokee Shoals offered everything we love about a mountain getaway: comfort, relaxation, beautiful surroundings, and that wonderful sound of the river.We're already hoping Cherokee Shoals will be available when we book next year's trip. We would absolutely stay here again!Thank you, Sliding Rock Cabins, for another memorable stay!

Excellent Getaway

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. It was nice being secluded without being too far away from civilization. The drive to get to the cabin was a little daunting at first, but we got used to it. The nearby town of Ellijay has a very active downtown area filled with restaurants and small shops. We would definitely visit again.

Everything from sending you your paperwork to using all amenities was so user friendly.

The cleaning crew had everything set up so lovely for us, all amenities were so easy to use and they had a book that covered any question you could have. We enjoyed our 43 anniversary at the beautiful place right on the river.
