The Hanalei Valley Lookout is just a half-mile from Princeville. After you've caught a glimpse of the emerald valley and its bay, keep driving on that same highway to Hanalei Town. For a bit of history, visit the Waioli Mission House, built by missionaries in 1837, and check your watch against a wall clock that has been keeping time since 1866. The adjacent church dates to 1834. The bay itself is a half-moon of warm sand offering a safe place to snorkel. Hanalei Bay is also the starting point for kayaking tours to the remote Na Pali Coast.
