Beautiful Cedar Home on N Lake Leelanau Shore in Leland, Mi

The house is a custom built cedar, two story walk-out, with the lower level walking out on the lake side. Each floor has a large, comfortable living area in the center, each with a beautiful view of the lake. The house has heating and airconditioning

The first floor has two bathrooms and a large master bedroom and den with a desk and bunkbeds. There is a large, comfortable living room with beautiful windows and a cedar vaulted ceiling. Also on this floor is a nice kitchen and dining area, opening up to an outdoor deck. The lower floor, contains a large living room, and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It opens out to a deck and walkway to the dock and lake.

Leland sits between Lake Michigan and North Lake Leelanau, a beautiful and large inland lake. Our home is in a private location on the west shore of North Lake Leelanau - great for swimming, boating, kayaking, or just sitting on the deck and enjoying the great water views. Leland and Lake Michigan are just a short walk from the house. Leelanau County, which is the 'little finger' of the lower peninsula of Michigan (in the northwest corner), is an exceptionally beautiful place and a wonderful place to visit. It is a mosaic of beautiful cherry farms, vineyards, wooded hillsides and spectacular Lake Michigan shoreline and beaches.

It is also the home of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which contains miles and miles of beautiful beaches and spectacular sand dunes. In Leland you can enjoy shops, many nice restaurants and historic Fishtown. From Fishtown there are charter fishing trips available, or a ferry service to two islands (The Manitous), part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. There are many other wonderful towns in Leelanau County to explore. There are 12 wineries in Leelanau County, and many more in the neighboring Old Mission Peninsula. Just south of Leelanau County is Traverse City, Michigan, home of the National Cherry Festival, the Traverse City Film Festival, and the Epicurean Classic. Overall, this is an amazing and unique place to visit.

What a wonderful rental on a beautiful lake! The house was so clean, kitchen well stocked, plenty of space for six adults (3 couples) to enjoy time together and have privacy. The house is 1 mile from historic Fishtown. Communication was great!

This home is all about the view, the dock, and proximity to Leland, and Suttons Bay. The house was fully stocked and very clean. Clearly it has some special family history given the pictures of generations throughout the house! Makes it feel cozy! We had only two couples but this house is perfect for a large group or family. It was equally nice for two couples too. It is a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk to downtown Leland and across the street from a golf course. Susan was great to work with! My wish? 4 comfy adirondacks on the dock!!!

The property is perfect for our group with regards to location, no of bedrooms and bathrooms Amenities were also very good. Well stocked kitchen with appropriate no of pans, utensils, serving pieces and dishware. Our host was very attentive. We appreciate the attention to detail, plan to return next year. Thank you!!

Everything was perfect with our stay. Place was very beautiful and had everything we needed and very clean. Location was perfect - walking distance to Fishtown and very close to an EV charger at the golf course and a small park on the beach. Highly recommend.

Perfect Leelanau Peninsula Getaway

Absolutely loved our stay! Perfectly located within walking distance to Fishtown and Leland shopping. Short drive to Suttons Bay, Northport, Traverse City, etc. The home is well stocked, very comfortable and has everything you could need or want to enjoy a family vacation.

Wonderful stay!

Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped home comfortable for 9 adults + 2 infants (and could have hosted more!) We loved the dock and ease to the water, the bonfire bit, many spots to hangout (deck, living room, patio downstairs). 2 separate living areas perfect for having infants.

Our family get-together was wonderful! The house was as described, with plenty of space for 11 people. The kitchen was well stocked and there were toys and books for the kids. The lake views were beautiful. The dock had lots of space for chairs, and the upper deck was roomy and comfortable. We could walk to downtown Leland. The dunes are beautiful. All in all, it was a great get-away.

Beautiful property super close to downtown Leland! This was a great, spacious place for two families to enjoy a long weekend together. There is a mini crib and a pack n'play as well as a baby gate for the top of the stairs and a closet with toys for kids of various ages. The host was accommodating and easy to communicate with. The kitchen was well-stocked. The view, the dock, the fire pit...all lovely! We had a fantastic trip and would love to return.

Beautiful lake front home

This home was perfect for our group of 6 mature adults. The setting is very pretty and close to shopping and restaurants. It is neat as a pin and very clean with a well-stocked kitchen. The owner was accessible and easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a home to gather with friends or family, this home is for you!

Although the weather was cold low to mid 60’s, we had a great time. We loved the view of Lake Leelanau from the back windows. The lake water is so clear. Also we enjoyed walking to Fish Town to shop and eat ice cream at the Harbor House. We visited Van’s Beach on Lake Michigan too. We walked the shores in search of the famous Petoskey rock. We found a couple of them plus some other interesting rocks. Thank you for a wonderful stay at your cottage!

Great home!

We rented this house for my daughter's wedding. We had 7 adults and we had plenty of room for everyone. The home was very clean. The owner was easy to communicate with and we had everything we needed. To make it even better we had beautiful weather for the wedding on the beach by Lake Michigan. I would highly recommend this rental.

Comfortable lake house

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the property. Typically, houses in wooded areas have some bugs or spider webs inside. I saw no evidence of this. The host takes pride in the property. Plenty of kitchen items, full size fridge, plenty of seating. We brought our own Keurig pod style coffee machine but there is a brewer there. Downstairs is cold, even in summer. I didn’t sleep downstairs but my family who did needed sweatshirts and extra blankets at night. Perhaps a space heater downstairs would solve the issue. All in all, a fabulous property. We’d stay again. Great location walking distance to town.

Great location…AMAZING PROPERTY W SPECTACULAR VIEWS…close to everything…kitchen was well stocked, had toys,cribs, high chair etc for little kids…owner is v prompt w communication and follows up. Can’t get any better at this price point for a large home w an incredible location.

We have visited Lake Leelanau for several years and this property was one of our favorites. Excellent location close to town with a shaded backyard and enough sun for those interested. With 5 bedrooms there was plenty of room for our extended family and grandkids. There was also plenty of space to spread out and relax with a nice fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked with two refrigerators. Also worth noting the boat lift was extremely convenient and we even caught a few fish.

Nice vacation home and location

The house and location worked very well for our group. The house is close to Leland, has lakefront access and is secluded from the neighboring houses by vegetation , even though they quite close on both sides. The property contact responded quickly to our few questions.

Perfect springtime trip

We had a wonderful trip to Leland - so lucky because the cherries and the trillium were blooming. House is very well equipped with everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and also cooking basics (always a bonus). We loved that Loftus cottage was clearly a family home. Location was excellent- easy walk into Leland. Communication with host was straightforward and speedy. Great vrbo

My parents built this waterfront home in the resort village of Leland in 1990 so that our family could have a place to gather in the summer. It is beloved by all members of our family as a relaxed and beautiful place to get together.
