Appalachian Ski Mountain home located next to the slopes. This Swiss Mountain Tudor style home features a covered wrap around front porch and open rear deck with beautiful mountain views. This home features a glassed in den with wood stove next to the dining area and is very bright and cheerful. The upper level features four bedrooms with a master bath and hallway bath. Located 10 minutes away from both Blowing Rock and Boone, the home is convenient to all shopping, dining and entertainment. Completely renovated with all new kitchen, baths and beautiful wood floors. The ski resort often blows snow, an AWD vehicle is preferable in winter.

The house is very close to the slopes, making it a perfect spot. The location is stunning and inviting, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere. We had a wonderful time with family, making the most of the snowy scenery. We stayed from New Year's Eve to January 2nd, and the place was covered in with snow, adding to the charm.

New Year's snowboarding trip

We had a great stay at this property. The house was very clean, well stocked, and the owner was very responsive when we had questions. I recommend enjoying the gorgeous mountain views at sunrise from the dining table with a cup of coffee.

Great cottage cabin at App Ski

This was a great cottage/cabin located conveniently next to App Ski. Furnishings were great, exactly what we needed for a short weekend getaway. More than 2 chars would be a challenge from a parking perspective. Would stay again

Excellent host and property close to slopes

Host was excellent with communication and this property was super convenient for a ski weekend. Property was clean and well equipped for all of our needs. Great views from the dining room! Would not hesitate to rent again!

Great deck and views!

Loved a summer weekend in the mountains! Clean house, nice kitchen, comfy beds, but we spent all our time at the house on the deck. Beautiful sunrise, gas fire table. Easy drive to Boone & Blowing rock.

Ski trip

We had a wonderful stay. Woke up to Snow! It was from the Ski resort. Drove the 4x4 so no problems. Decently needed when snow making going on.

Mountain Views

We enjoyed the house, especially the spacious den and deck with wonderful views. The updated kitchen and baths were very nice. The road to the house needs repaving and the driveway is limited to two cars. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to potential vacationeers.

Worked for our family

We enjoyed our time in this home. It was very cold while we were there so we couldn’t really enjoy outside much. But the many windows allowed us to have a nice view from inside. All Four bedrooms are upstairs. One is perfect for a small child. It states two master bedrooms but only one has a bathroom in same room as bedroom. I consider it to be a master if it includes a bathroom. There is a full bath in hall upstairs & half bath downstairs.

Good house and location with caveats

This house was quite nice for our group of seven that stayed here for a weekend. View was beautiful from the dining and living room, as well as the kitchen. The rest of the house furniture wise was a little dated but comfortable. This house is about a 2 minute drive to the ski lodge at appalachian ski mountain where our children were taking ski lessons this weekend. Our main issue for the house was its exterior condition. This house is located close to the top of the Appalachian mountain Ski resort which is often blowing snow, and some of that snow may blow back on the property. In addition, it had snowed a few days prior. When we arrived, the driveway was not plowed, and with the temps jumping above and below 32 degrees it quickly became very slick. We could not pull one of our cars out of the driveway as a result, and the walkway to the entrance was also covered in snow and became pretty slick (one of our members slipped on the way in). The next day one of us had to shovel and salt the driveway ourself to give a chance for our subaru to make it out. On top of this, the thermostat was set to 50 degrees when we arrived, and took overnight to warm up the whole house to 70. We had to keep our 2, 4, and 6 year old in their jackets the rest of the evening to keep them warm. My father in law also tried calling the number provided for the owner but never received a call back. When I contacted the owner via the vrbo app they indicated that it is hard to keep up with the snow at all times, and so the driveway and walkway may not be cleaned. They also said that they control the heat remotely via wifi so that perhaps there was a connection issue. Regardless, for folks who are making decisions in the future on where to stay, just note that these may be things that you might have to deal with after arrival during the winter season. Had we known that we would have to clean the driveway, we would have saved the expense and just stayed in a hotel.
