The Hillside House located 8 miles from west entrance to Glacier National Park

Hillside House is a bright, airy, and cheerful home located on 8 wooded acres and close to open meadows. The highway to Glacier Park less than two miles away via paved county road so you can enjoy Montana's quiet tranquility after a day of exploring. The home features a large kitchen/dining area, a living room with a gas fireplace, and a master suite with a large walk-in shower. There is a second bedroom with a queen bed and desk and the third bedroom features a bunk bed, XL single on the top and queen size on the bottom. The main bathroom has a shower and there is a powder room located off the laundry.

For the first time in serveral years, the Hillside House will be available for rent by the month from October through May. Take that break you have always dreamed of and spend a few months, or the whole winter, enmeshed in the tranquility of a Montana winter. Please send us an inquiry if interested in pursuing.

Girls Trip to Glacier

The house was perfect for our girls trip to Glacier. It was clean and well stocked with all that we would need to both enjoy staying at the house and exploring the area. Great location and easy to get to all the places we wanted to go. Thanks for a great experience.

Family trip end of May

The Hillside House was our home away from home for 5 days, 4 nights at the end of May. It had everything we needed and was close to the parks. The seclusion was delightful. We are so thankful to fit our family of 5 with plenty of room for everyone. Our 3 kids are now adults and we enjoyed our time together. Kate was very friendly and accommodating. Excellent place to stay!

Great home in a private setting

We loved staying here and enjoyed the serenity of the area. We even saw a black bear when we first arrived! The owners were very nice as well. Very close to the park as well. Would definitely recommend!

Location, location, location!

This is a very nice home just a short drive to the park. Kate is very responsive and available for any questions you might have. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of soaps, detergents, towels. We even saw a herd of elk nearby! We definitely recommend this place! Thanks Kate!

Great house in an amazing location

The property and house were beautiful and had everything we could need. Just eight miles outside of the west entrance of Glacier National Park, it was a great home base for visiting the park for a few days. Kate was a great host and had lots of recommendations for us. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic property!

Our family loved this beautiful home close to Glacier National Park. It is well maintained, very clean, and a joy to come "home" to each evening. The owner is very responsive and helpful. We could not have been more happy with our stay!

Beautiful home

Everything about our stay in this home was wonderful. Attention to details was amazing. My 4 sisters and I stayed 4 nights. Short drive to West entrance of Glacier National Park. Kate and her husband John were super hosts and very easy to contact. Made our stay a vacation to remember.

Hillside House near Glacier

This house was a perfect stay for our family trip to Glacier. The house looked exactly as pictured. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the quiet mornings and evenings. Even saw a doe and fawn and a hen turkey with her babies. The host, Kate, kept us well informed of the wildfires nearby.

Girls Trip

Kate’s house was perfect for our girls trip to Glacier National Park. SUPER close to park’s west entrance and the house had everything we needed. Enjoyed a lot of time out on the patio amongst the trees and the kitchen had all of right tools to cook dinner in every night. Bonus…great coffee and coffee maker! Really helped make our time in Montana memorable.

Very nice stay at Hillside House

Clean and big enough for us all to have enough space. Four adults and a child. Convenient to west entrance of Glacier. Kate was available as we needed to ask anything. Grateful for the bear spray to borrow. Loved the outdoor part of the property too. We really enjoyed our stay!

A quiet nature retreat

The quietest green space for a getaway. Down a country road, way off the beaten path. This is just what we needed to refresh. Beds were great, we slept like babies. It was so quiet and dark. We loved it. If we ever come back, will definitely stay again.

An Ideal Location for our Family

We loved our stay. We had four adults and a 20-month old baby and the house was spacious and comfortable. There were even toys and a child sized rocking chair for the baby - an unexpected bonus! The kitchen was very well stocked with condiments and all of the supplies we needed to prepare meals during our 3-night stay. Kate stopped by to make sure everything was going well and the check-in and check-out process were very easy. I would highly recommend this property.

Absolutely what the doctor ordered!

If you're looking for peace and tranquility yet being only a few minutes from town or Glacier National Park, this is the place! The kitchen had everything I could have possibly needed to prepare meals. The living room was ultra comfortable. My bedroom was perfect! Cleanliness was top-notch! There's also great outdoor seating areas (I'm a big fan) surrounded by huge pine trees. I spent a disproportionate amount of time sitting outside!! Kate, the host, was wonderful from the get-go. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone I know!

Great Glacier Vacation

The home had everything a traveler could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked, coffee, tea condiments, spices. Even had 1 bedroom set up with toys to keep a child entertained. Now let’s talk about location, literally 8 miles from the West Glacier entrance, doesn’t get much better than that. I could go on and on, bear spray, whistles, coolers, ice packs for the cooler, more linens than you could ever use, great stove, coffee maker, dishwasher and all top of the line appliances. A nice big screen TV to relax at the end of a busy day. Over the top in every way.

Heaven on Earth

What a gorgeous place!! Nestled in the trees with paths to walk on! Beautiful flowers and special touches everywhere! 2 stall garage was great to get the cars out of the sun. The house is so amazing! Beautifully decorated- so many special thoughtful things. Kitchen was well stocked- Brita pitcher in frig- water was great! Container of Assorted Candy on counter. Beds were comfortable- master bedroom was huge- large closet and walk in shower. 3 bathrooms! Massage chairs in living room with large tv. The deck was great! Chairs there and also off the deck a table with umbrella and chairs. Fire ring with wood provided. Such a lovely place we hated to leave! Kate was great to communicate with. Gave recommendations for directions and where to shop in area. Wonderful experience!!

Everything we hoped for at Hillside House!

My wife, son, and I travel with another family with 2 teenage kids. We chose Hillside House due to its location to Glacier National Park and the wonderful reviews. We could not have been more pleased with this great house, the owner who was super helpful, and the location. It was everything we hoped for. It was extremely clean and well kept inside and out. It had everything we needed and then some. We were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed parking the cars in the garage, making smores by the campfire, hiking the trails around the house and seeing the wildlife. The fireplace was nice on cool mornings. We enjoyed making our picnic lunches for the day and used coolers and ice packs that were available. Having so many things available for us to use in the house was a very nice and much appreciated touch. We loved the coffee maker that we set to start early each morning before we headed out to the park. The owner came out to welcome us and offered suggestions for our trip. If we return to the area we will definitely be looking to stay at Hillside House again. We could not have been more pleased!

Charming House - Solitude in the Woods

There is so much to love about the "Hillside House"! Clean and VERY quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with many extra plates, pots 'n pans, spices, coffee, utensils; excellent newer appliances. There was an great selection of almost new towels. The amazing gas fireplace in living room was so efficient we never used the house heat even when temps were in the 40°s outside. There are beautiful hardwood floors, pleasing decor, games, books, throw pillows. There is excellent internet service - no television but who comes to Montana to watch tv? The grounds were lovely and well maintained. The location, just 1.4 mi. off the main highway is about 10.5 mi. to the West Glacier NP entrance. There are nearby restaurants just east on the main highway and even a little grocery store just west. Our favorite nearby restaurant was Glacier Taphouse and Pizza. Super 1 Foods, a large, modern supermarket, is ~11 mi. west in Columbia Falls, and open 24/7 (thank you Kate!). Nearby towns such as Kalispell and Whitefish are fairly close if you're not exploring the parks. Whitefish has many restaurants and shops, and an iconic working rail depot and museum, plus live theater productions. If you're in Kalispell, we highly recommend touring the Conrad Mansion Museum. Lastly, our communication with our host, Kate, was fantastic! Before, during and at the end of our stay, she was always there for us, responsive, cordial and unobtrusive. Thank you Kate!

This house was an absolute gem! Close enough to be convenient to all the area offers but secluded enough to have a great sense of privacy.The house was immaculate and very well appointed. The communication with the host was flawless and the entire check-in and check-out process could not have been smoother.I highly recommend this place and will come back if we ever come to visit Glacier again
