Información de la propiedad

Clean, full kitchen, stand alone cabin

Get out of town! 200,000 acres of public land. Over 60,000 acres of water. Cabin 1 has a nice neutral paint scheme rather than the rustic wood paneling of our other cabins. Clean and comfortable is our highest goal and this cabin will not disappoint. Perfect home base for outdoor adventure. Two twin beds in each room. This cabin also features a full kitchen. Just across the street from Lake Barkley, the property joins Lake Barkley State Park. Less than a mile from Boots Randolph Golf Course, and five miles from Land Between the Lakes. Small convenience store on site sells Hunt Brothers pizza, deli sandwiches, bait, gas, ice, beer, etc. Tony & Karen (Owners) live on the property and strive to make sure your stay is perfect. Our area offers a wide range of outdoor activities, food, and shopping. We grew up here! We hunt, fish, hike, golf, mountain bike, dirt bike, kayak, and boat. We've been taking our children to The Elk and Bison Prairie, Planetarium, Home Place, Nature Center, Turkey Bay and others for years. We know the area! Our decades of experience will help you plan your next adventure! Pet friendly with a $25 pet fee. NO SMOKING.

Property was very clean. Right size for several people to share. Saw deer and wild turkey right in front of the cabin. It is right next to the entrance leading to Lake Barkley Resort where the restaurants, marina, indoor pool and swim beach are located.

Fishing getaway

Location is excellent, communication with the owner is excellent. Cabin is clean, neat with few amenities. Utensils, plates, bowls, cups etc. you'd better bring your own, but it's perfect for a place to lay your head after a day on Lake Barkley. Price is appropriate and reasonable. Planning a fishing trip with the guys? I'd highly recommend it.

Peaceful relaxing stay

Cabins are a bit dated but I knew that from the pictures. Little store at the entrance had food so I didn't have to ride to town to get anything, although it was only a 15 minute ride if I had needed to. One A/C unit in the cabin but since it was just me I shut the bedroom doors and slept on the couch. The bedrooms didn't seem to get real cool but it was 95degrees outside. There is Wifi but it is about as slow as dial up. That would have to be my only complaint if you want to call it one. Cell service was fine in the cabin for calls and messaging but I had to step outside occasionally to get better reception for social media (att).. All in all it was a relaxing stay and close to the activities that I was attending.

Barkley fishing trip

Cabin is clean, everything is in working order and as advertised. Don't expect to find dishes or silverware. There is however a couple pots and pans. Communication with the owner is fantastic as they live on the property.

Holiday Thanksgiving Cheer!

Enjoyed our stay. Two things were inadequate. Could use a chair in each bedroom and a better heating source. Otherwise it was great! Our needs were met. Beds were comfy. Shower was great. Lighting wasn’t too good in front room but okay overall. Would we stay there again? Yes we would!! And we will recommend it to friends and family!!!

Worked

Probably a better choice for four guys going fishing on the lake than a 70 year old adventurous female wanting a place to stay rather than a hotel room so I could spend a day exploring Land Between the Lakes. It worked.

Fish Island Resort

My daughter and I had a blast staying at Fish Island Resort for the first time! The cabin was cute and quaint. It had two bedrooms and a kitchen area to meet our needs. We were even able to watch the Olympics on television during our stay! The cabin is less than two miles from the public beach at Lake Barkley and only 15 minutes from Land Between the Lakes. We were even able to drive to Patti's 1880s Settlement for a nice lunch! I thought we were going to end our trip on a bad note with a flat tire, but even that ended up as a good experience! Would highly recommend! We are thinking it may become an annual getaway for us!

Acerca del anfitrión

Anfitrión: Tony Nolcox

Foto de perfil del anfitrión
My name is Tony Nolcox. My wife, Karen, and I live on the property. I have spent a lifetime in this area hunting, guiding, fishing, hiking, and camping. We raised our two sons in Cadiz and this is home. We both have degrees in agriculture from Murray State University and Karen teaches agriculture at Trigg Co. High School. Right now kayak fishing is probably my favorite way to enjoy the outdoors with an occasional elk hunt thrown in.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

I saw this property was formerly a local icon that had fallen into disrepair. I'm big on being a part of the community and this is an opportunity to make something really nice again. Something that would add to the community. I also really enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. I love to hear stories about hunting and fishing trips or any outdoor adventure. This property is everything in one.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Fish Island Resort is located perfectly in the middle of Land Between the Lakes and right on top of Barkley Lake and the state park. There are so many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors from this location. I knew it was perfect. With the new four lane road coming through which will include hiking and biking lanes all the way across Land Between the Lakes, I really think this is THE place! Easy travel from I24 to our resort yet when you are here you are in a truly rural setting with wildlife all around.
