Great location,3 miles off I-75 , Exit # 414. 10 minutes from Itchetucknee Springs and many other springs close by. Surrounded in park like setting , fully equipped kitchen, laundry room,BBQ grill, picnic table and camp fire pit. Convenient to down town High Springs, Ft. White and Lake City and Gainesville. There are many state parks within the area for fishing, swimming, tubing, kayaking, hiking , race tracks, dirt tracks.

Kitchen and bathroom amenities are supplied as well as laundry detergent and charcoal. Fully equipped kitchen.

You Get BLUEBERRIES With Your Pancakes

The place was just as advertised. My two older daughters fell in love with the morning light in the bedroom and didn't want to leave. My youngest daughter really loved the toys!! The blueberry bushes were a nice treat. Thank you!

Relaxing Getaway

This was a great place to get away from it all. Nice property to walk around - a fire pit is available for s'mores or just enjoying. It is far enough from town to be relaxing, but close enough to be convenient. I loved that our host provided many of the things like dishwashing soap, little samples of soap and toothpaste, salt & pepper, coffee, tea, etc. Many places do not, so this was very nice. The only thing I don't think I was aware of was that there was no internet (which was surprising because there was cable TV. This WOULD have been OK, but my daughter had to do an online school assignment by midnight Saturday night. Fortunately, her car had wifi, so she went out to the car to do the assignments! There were two bedrooms and a fold-out sofa. Everything was very nice, clean, and very comfortable. We had a fabulous time and hope to come again. Thank you!

Circumstances that couldn't be helped...

We chose not to check in on the first day and I let the owner know. On the second day we arrived at the residence. The weather had been bad the day before and that day too. Due to the weather some furnishing did not work such as the oven and washer/ dryer. Speaking on the phone with the owner she was aware of the issue but wouldn't be able to fix it that evening. My kids and I left after 20 minutes of staying there because I needed a way to wash my daughters softball gear which is one of the reasons I rented a home with such furnishings. I let the owner know we left and would not return and let her know she could cancel the rest of the stay. This is a place to get away from the busy life and enjoy nature, it just wasn't what me and my family needed. I wish some of the money would have been returned because of the stay not being fully what was in the description.

peaceful hideaway

Easy to get to, convenient location in a very quiet area down a dirt road, with quick access to stores, gas stations, restaurants and the interstate. Has basic essentials, needed a computer to access Starlink, if you want more than basic tv. We enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch.

Ichetucknee Springs kayaking

No nice and quiet at this property. Completely enjoyed the birds and nature from the front porch. We would stay there again.

Cute cottage

We used cottage and played softball in Newberry! About 30 min drive but definitely worth the space and washer and dryer for ball uniforms! Very comfortable

Perfect dive stay (especially during Covid)

close to dive sites and shops, we cooked all of our meals in the very well appointed kitchen - and such a pretty cottage and peaceful area!

Quiet and comfy

This lovely cottage was better than described. Clean and well stocked. Althea is a wonderful host and responded to inquiries timely timely. It has everything you and your family needs for a quiet and comfy getaway. Highly recommended!!

Off the beaten path

The Ole' Butterfly cottage was off the beaten path, but a great place to get away from it all . We had friends rent the adjacent property (Ole' Ladybug cottage) so we had the property to ourselves. Great times around the campfire and letting the kiddos unplug and run around enjoying nature. The stars were bright and spirits were high. The home itself was roomy and clean. Drawers and amenities were well labeled and we didn't feel at a loss for anything from grill supplies to band aids! You will not regret staying here to take a break from life!

Great place

My only complaint is no wifi, which I don't recall seeing listed before I booked the listing. At least it should be more clear. And there is no seating around the fire pit. Other than that it was such a lovely stay! There were little soaps and shampoos, the pillows were very comfortable and so were the beds. The couch is not so much, so I wouldn't plan on anyone sleeping on it, but it was serviceable for what time we spent in the living room.

Great little place to get away

A short drive to Ichetucknee Springs or Ginnie Springs. Would stay there again. Much better than a hotel, or camping in the 90+ degree Summertime heat! We really enjoyed our stay and the beautiful property! Thank you!!

Peaceful retreat!

This is a great place to stay! Peaceful and quiet, and only about 20 minutes away from 3 great places to visit (that we know of!). Kayaking Itchetucknee Springs was the highlight of our trip, followed closely by our scrumptious dinner at Marion Street Bistro and Brewhouse in Lake City! We loved dinner so much we wanted to go back and were sad to learn they are closed on Sundays! High Springs had the cutest little town, with all sorts of unique shops to visit. We received amazing pedicures there, also. Although the beds are only full size, I believe my daughter and I would be comfortable in one bed and could give my overgrown son the other! We didn’t have time to enjoy the grill and picnic area, but it looks like it would be a great idea for my next visit, so quaint! I did enjoy sipping my tea on the screened in porch in the peace and quiet of the morning!

Super cute!

We stayed here to float the river at Ichetucknee Springs State Park. The grounds were beautiful and beds are comfortable. The host provided many sweet amenities to make the stay great like coal for the grill, wood for the firepit, and toys for the kids.

Springs

Felt like I could’ve used a little more information about the area and actual location of the house. It was very dark when I got in and I had no idea where to go or park or anything so that was disappointing also not having WiFi was a little rough to research the area.

Peaceful Getaway

Our family of four (boys are 8 and 6) spent the weekend, and loved every minute! Native Floridians, but had never visited the springs, and this was the perfect retreat. Cottage was clean, comfortable, and peaceful, with plenty of space outside for the boys to run and play. Close to kayaking, state parks, and springs. Owner is extremely thoughtful, and made our boys' evening with a fun Easter surprise! Cottage is well-equipped with anything and everything you'd need. We can't wait to return!
