Rum Island Cabin on the Santa Fe River

The beautiful Santa Fe River and its many pristine springs are at your doorstep from this tiny, well equipped cabin in the woods. Relax in a peaceful, private, low tech environment surrounded by Mother Nature. The town of High Springs with antiques, gift shops, and restaurants is 6 miles away; Gainesville (and the UF Gators) is 30 miles away. Beautiful parks and spring fed rivers and hiking / biking trails are close by. Cave divers and snorkeling at world renowned Ginnie Springs is 1 mile upriver. Canoe/kayak/float/swim/relax in the river and springs 100 feet from the cabin door.
The cabin is fully equipped with AC/heat, fridge, microwave and hotplate, all utensils and linens provided. The bathroom has toilet and shower. We have a comfy full size bed, DVD player, dvd's, games and books. Outside you will find a screened porch to watch the wildlife and birds. We have a bar-b-que and a fire pit. The hammock swings between two shady trees.
The gate from the cabin leads to a small, pristine spring right on the Santa Fe River.

Loved it.

We loved our stay here. The whole environment was so peaceful. Just what we needed. The place is very clean and the space heater provided was a welcomed addition, as it fit really cold a couple of the nights. Definitely going to come back again.

Beautiful place!

We loved the location—a short walk to the river and springs. The cabin was a little small for two adults and two dogs but it was clean and snug on the unusually cold nights we were there. MaryAnn and Dave were welcoming hosts.

Great little getaway!

This cabin was all that was described! It was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. Very peaceful and serene location. A great place to relax.

Our 3 nite stay at the perfect time of the year in my opinion

The cabin is just what you see on the listing. Small for sure but meets all your needs. Do I wish the bed was bigger, absolutely lol. Environment/ Location just beautiful. I liked it being cooler because we fully enjoyed the fire pit and the gorgeous nite sky with a million visible stars. Our little corgi's enjoyed it just as much as we did. The host were so nice and helpful yet left you to your privacy. I can not say enough about the them. We will definitely be going back.

End of summer

Very nice property. It is a private quiet little get away ..just a short hike to a beautiful spring . We enjoyed our selves by relaxing down by the spring and we tubed down to big Rum , a nice short walk back .

Wild&Cozy

This cabin is fantastic. Beautiful deer are walking around, and a lovely private spring is a minute's walk from the cabin. The hosts are amiable and respond quickly. The cabin is in the middle of the forest, and they are not close neighbors, which is very cool. I would stay here again. Thank you.

Magical woodland adventure

Our hosts, Dave and Maryanne were so thoughtful and easy to work with. They provided us with complete up to date information and instructions so we were fully prepared to settle in without a hitch. They gladly answered questions and corresponded in advance, giving us a warm welcome on arrival. The accomodations were lovely, the home was adorable, neat and tidy with all the comforts of home. The surrounding area was heavenly, with a wooded path leading to a small secluded spring and the Santa Fe river practically outside the door. There were trails leading to Rum Island and there were plenty of activities to keep us occupied all day and into the evening. Plenty of space for parking, outdoor seating around a firepit and a grill for cooking. Truly paradise!arrived.

Great Location and Beautiful Place for Rest and Relaxation

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the little cabin in the woods. The location was fantastic, a short walk to Mermaid Spring and Rum Island. We were able to paddle board from the cabin to Gilchrist Blue Spring. Dave and Maryann were very friendly and welcoming hosts. We are so thankful to them for sharing their little piece of paradise with others.

Relaxing paradise cabin

Went for a anniversary trip, the cabin is very nice with everything you need and lots of privacy, just down a trail a small but refreshing spring on the Sante Fe River, excellent hosts, hope to return every chance we have.

Peaceful and quiet

Very beautiful location just steps from the Santa Fe river and Rum Island park. The Cabin was just perfect for my wife and l. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful location to unwind for a few days.
