Located along the sugar white sands of West Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama, this single level, beach front vacation home provides an amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico! The fhouse has four bedrooms, two baths, and a great porch facing the Gulf with a covered portion for shade. Inside has an open floor plan blending the fully stocked kitchen, cozy dining, and comfortable living room areas into a great space for all your guests. The living room and all bedrooms also have a TV and internet is provided throughout the home as well. For more peace of mind and an additional fee, you can also bring your pet with you! The house is a short drive to downtown Gulf Shores with many activities to choose from like the Hangout, Waterville, The Zoo, Putt Putt, Go Karts, and many restaurants for dining as well as places to socialize and just have a great time. The Hideaway Beach House located down West Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores would be a great pick for your beach vacation!

Pictures were from several years ago before deferred maintenance. I should have gotten what I paid for or paid for what I got. On a positive note, AC, water pressure and pillows were good.
Advertised a screened in porch. Apparently they decided to tear it out. One reason I rented this house.
Both bathrooms had peeling and torn wallpaper. No TP holder in one. Sharp edge on one towel bar. And if it says it sleeps 12, give me 12 sets of towels, not 8.
Mold at AC. They need to insulate the unit, replace drywall. The kilzed over all the AC vents because of mold.
Rotten soffits and fascia.

Pictures and property details need to be updated to reflect current conditions. The deck is a major safety hazard that needs to be addressed.

Great location

This house is in a great location with easy access to the beach. Needs some major cosmetic fixes which I can get past but the deck is a little to look past. At the beach you are mainly barefoot. The boards are goi g bad and the nails are pushing up pretty bad. I wanted to book again for the same time next year but was concerned what condition the deck would be in by the, so I haven’t. We had a great time in the house and happy to have been able to use it though.

Beach hideaway

Back deck had nails coming out and wood coming up. Could use a little fixing up. House was clean. Reported a TV not working and response was fast but wasnt fixed before we left. Would stay again for location and price was not bad.

Not worth the money

While the inside of the house seemed pretty clean, this was not the case. The floors were very gritty and sandy when we checked in. All the cupboards in the kitchen were very sticky, and we seen cockroaches the size of silver dollars. The outside of the house is horrible. There is paint peeling everywhere, And the deck is in such horrible shape. You cannot walk on it with bare feet because there are nails sticking up everywhere and bad boards everywhere. The little bit of furniture they have on the deck is in terrible shape and very dirty. To say the very least, my wife and I were very disappointed in what we received for what we paid.We do not get to go on trips like this very often, so it was very disappointing

Beach Trip

Overall this property was nice. The location was amazing. Some things are a little outdated but overall we had a great stay. We were worried by reading recent reviews, but we did reach out to the property management and they informed us areas of concerns had been fixed. Some boards in the deck were old but a lot of new boards had been recently put down. The furniture in the living area is different from the photos, but the property management had also ensured me new furniture had been put in before our arrival. We were a group of 7 and we all slept comfortably and had no real complaints. Only suggestion I would make is to bring extra seating for the deck if you are a large group as there are not many chairs outside.

Glad it was switched

We arrives to this house on the ocean, and it was awful. We knew it needed some TLC bases on passed reviews but this was awful. Wood rotting, sticky surfaces, dirty furniture with rips in it. Boards up on the deck. Once I spoke with the property manager she switched us to a beautiful clean place down the road. She was by far the best, great to communicate for us and all the kids we needed to pack up. But the owner needs to demolish this place, it’s like a scary movie.

Great location, looked different than in photos

Overall our stay was okay, it was in rougher shape than what the photos showed. For example, knobs on the showers looked pretty gross (the older clear ish kind that looked to have black stuff in them). The shower curtain was speckled with what I assume was mildew and had some staining. The location was the saving grace, as far as the house itself I don’t think we would rebook. Would like something that felt cleaner.

Location is great!

The online depiction of this property is not what you will find upon arrival. There was peeling paint and rotten trim on the exterior, the deck had nails sticking up everywhere which posed a danger to small children as well as adults walking barefoot. There was black mold visible in the hallway and one of the bedrooms. The kitchen had some basic items for our use, if you stay here take inventory (pots/pans, etc.) of what is available prior to cooking. Maintenance was great and answered when you called and came out right away to address concerns other than mold. AC works great and there is plenty of room. The view is spectacular, and the beaches are amazing, you get what you expected there!

The location was perfect and communication was also amazing!

We showed up to a broken tv in one of the bedrooms and I messaged them late in the night to let them know. Almost immediately messaged me back letting me know that would get it taken care of. The next day they had a new one set up for us. The deck is horrible! Nails sticking up everywhere and boards not down. The first day my husband cut his foot pretty good on a nail which probably needed stitches. We couldn’t let our kids go out there without us holding them. Besides a couple of things it was a good place to stay.

The Hideaway

The location was excellent, the house was clean, the check in and communication was great. The floor plan was very good . The house needs major deck repair, and the kitchen cabinets are sticky (bad paint I’m guessing) which gives a gross feeling while cooking. I am not a snob by any means and don’t care about aesthetics as much as the functionality and cleanliness. Overall the rental company was great, I would stay again.

Great view … less than great house

Our stay started by pulling in and construction was being done on the deck railing. Obviously less than ideal when you’ve flown all day with two small children. Prickett Properties stated they thought the deck rail construction was already finished the week prior and since the railing on the entire deck was completely off, for safety reasons, we couldn’t stay there. The lady handling the situation from Prickett property was very nice, understood the frustration on our end and was quick to send us two alternative (and VERY much an upgrade) houses and it ended working out great. ** HOWEVER, while sitting at this particular property while things were figured out, we walked through the house and it would have been very much a let down. There are MANY updates and fixes that need to be done. It looked “clean” but we wouldnt have been comfortable being there all week so I’m so very thankful things ended up going how they did. Furniture is old and dingy, front door rusted, some very obvious water damage in an area of the hallway ceiling that looked extremely questionable (mold??). They were replacing the deck railing but idk why they wouldn’t just replace the entire deck…It’s old, lots of nails popping up, sliver galore for bare feet, the small area of enclosed porch had ripped screening. The view is spectacular but not enough to overshadow the poor condition of the house. Would NOT book this house or recommend anyone else to.

Needs a lot of maintenance.

Nails sticking up on deck boards and some unstable board with several railing slats missing. Screening on porch was ripped (same as the year before when previewed). Ceiling damage from leaking roof was a major concern and the possibility of mold. Not sure if it would pass a true building inspection. The location DID make up for the shabby house. Had one issue with kitchen sink disposal and maintenance repaired quickly.

Unsafe home on beach

The location in Gulf Shores on the beach was wonderful. Unfortunately this older home is in a sad state of repair with the deck about to fall down and unsafe.The stairs bannister was also unsafe. It appears the owners are waiting for it to fall down or be taken by a storm to rebuild on the lot. We would not return to this property.
