Private apartment in the mountains

Hummingbird Hill is located at 4000 feet in western Carolina mountains and is the perfect quiet mountain getaway. Your apartment has a private entrance and deck overlooking a pond. We are minutes from Lake Glenville and High Falls. Cashiers is just a 20 minute drive. It is a studio apartment with kitchen and bath with walk in shower. In addition to the king size bed if you are traveling with children we can provide a cot and portacrib.

Great Location

Debi, the hostess, is so very accommodating and thoughtful. Checking in and out was a breeze. Necessary items were thoughtfully placed in case something was forgotten. I think my favorite thing was walking my dog and hearing the birds sing.

Amazing Apartment

Absolutely charming suite in the mountains. One of the increasingly rare "original P2P Homestays", you could really feel the love Debi has for sharing her space and the location. Our two year old husky was very excited as well. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Wonderful Place

We loved to stay at Debi's apartment. She is a great host, very helpful and the place is comfortable and cozy. The setting is beautiful as the activities you can do around.

Quaint Mountain Retreat

Wonderful, relaxing cottage

My husband and I had a wonderful couple of days at Debi’s lovely mountain cottage and gardens. The pictures really do not do it justice and Debi was delightful to work with from the day we booked and throughout our stay. All the little extras she added for us were so appreciated and made us feel special. . Thank you so much, Debi!

Great Little Getaway with Beautiful Views!

Lovely spot in the mountains

Debi’s place was beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. The porch is amazing and the grounds are gorgeous. Debi is a lovely host and it’s clear she cares about her guests. I highly recommend her place!

Hummingbird Sanctuary

Debi is an amazing host with a gift of hospitality. Opened fridge to find eggs from her chickens, OJ, fruit, cold water and homemade hummingbird loaf, delicious! Mornings were spent on the porch, sitting in the swing, with coffee in one hand an a book in the other; enjoying the peace, quiet, and solitude, even had a hummingbird visited one morning. If you are looking for rest and relaxation check out Hummingbird Hill, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Debi.

Exactly what we needed

Debbie was awesome. She gives you specific instructions on the location, pay close attention to the details (the gps took us their fine), but being that far up in the mountains cell service is spotty, so the driving instructions are valuable. Room was great, clean and exactly what we needed. Would stay at again. Communication was top notch. Thanks Debbie.

Perfect mountain retreat

This is a wonderful property that had everything we needed and then some. The unit is very clean and very comfortable. Debi is a great host who has landscaped the outside area beautifully. Highly recommend!

Amazing getaway in the mountains of NC!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hummingbird Hill! Debi was a wonderful host and a talented gardener! We loved touring her gardens with her beautiful flowers and the sweet whimsical touches! The weather was perfect and the apartment was very cozy!

Relaxing getaway in the woods

Our stay was brief but very relaxing. The space is private and well appointed with a full kitchen and king size bed. The TV could be a little larger but we really didn’t watch it anyway. I would recommend this location and would come back again.

Peaceful and rejuvenating

My dog and I stayed for a week while my kids were at a nearby camp. The space is thoughtfully arranged and the furniture is so comfortable. The bed was especially comfy. There isn’t much noise from the main house upstairs so it seems to be very well insulated. The cool mountain air meant we had the windows open most the time and it was perfect. Debi’s gardens are extraordinary. We enjoyed walking her garden paths and the nearby country lanes. We saw so many animals and plants and really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. I spent most of my day reading on the porch which had a few different comfortable sitting spots. Debi was a delight as well. She was so gracious and kind. When I needed something, Cashiers was a beautiful 25 min drive away. I mostly brought food precooked, and was glad I did. There is only a cooktop and no oven. But that is sufficient for a week. I really could not have asked for a better place and I hope to come back again next summer.

Heaven on Earth

Debbie, you could not ask for a nicer host or person. She wants you to be comfortable and to enjoy. Her Garden is spectacular with all the hard work she puts into it. Everything from the cake, berries and the hospitality was wonderful. A piece of paradise on earth! Much enjoy our stay.

Relaxing Getaway

Debi was very nice and accommodating. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the king size bed with plenty of pillows. Beautiful secluded property but still close to trails, waterfalls and stores. Dog friendly.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hummingbird Hill studio apartment in Cullowhee, NC, and it was a fantastic experience. **Host:** Our host, Debi, was gracious and fun, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. **Apartment:** The studio itself was delightful. The landscaping around the property was amazing, providing a serene and beautiful setting. Inside, the King-sized bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals, and the bathroom was very clean. **Amenities:** We particularly loved the comfortable porch, which offered stunning views of the mountain—a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening relaxation. The apartment also had a large storage closet, which was very convenient for keeping our belongings organized. The tasteful decoration, with wonderful pictures, added a lovely touch to the overall ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are already looking forward to a return visit. If you're planning a trip to Cullowhee, we highly recommend staying at Hummingbird Hill!
