Spent a week vacation, fishing was a bust as the heat was brutal, but enjoyed the slower lake life for a few days! grandchildren arrived for the weekend. Made some amazing memories! Host was very responsive and helpful with any inquiries. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay with family was great. The slide off the deck and swing set were a hit for my granddaughters. Plenty of property room to play outside.

Loved it here. It was very peaceful. The water in this area has a sulfer smell.. That would be our only complaint, (no fault of the host) The host made sure there was plenty of good water for drinking, which we really appreciated

Location is fantastic!! Concept is fantastic! As soon as you step inside you are smacked with the smell. Musty old smell. It also would be nice if the listing indicates it's on a rotten egg smelling well so showers are out. They do have water in jugs here that's a plus. Let's not even get started on the height of the grass/weeds over ankle depth. The deck is fantastic highlight of the property. I had no cell service and tried calling the host he answered and we heard laughing i sent texts... nothing we only stayed because I knew I was already out the 400 dollars for 2 nights

It's a great little place. We had a minor issue with a light that quit working but they were going to check it out but it was not a big deal. The driveway is a little hard to see when you first come because the grass has grown over the rocks so just a heads up. I believe it's well water and it's a little stinky but they have a water dispenser and big jugs there, so again no issue just a heads up. The playground equipment could use a good power wash but we told the kids just stay off the slide. Those were our only concerns but all in all, we had a good weekend.

Fishing cabin

We really enjoyed our stay. Kids loved the swing set and slide off the deck. It was close to the boat ramps for fishing. Cabin was stocked very well.

Fishing Trip

The property was a great place to stay for a fishing trip to Truman Dam. Plenty of spots to sleep. Great trip!

Lake Cabin

Very nice cabin and an awesome host. We were there to fish and the location is close to two boat ramps. Convenience store with good food and bait close.

This cabin, was great for our visit. The owners were quick to respond and made sure we had what we needed, even had a nice welcome card and gift for us on arrival

It such a nice quiet little place! They even had dog treats and a s’mores station. We loves how much seating there was around the fire pit.

Cozy Weekend Getaway

We had the best stay at the fireside cabin. The cabin was very clean and had comfortable bedding. We enjoyed fishing and fires in the backyard firepit. Bryant was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a quiet spot for a weekend getaway this is the place to be.

Girls weekend

Cute cabin

We didn't spend much time in the cabin, but the time spent was great! The beds are comfy, the kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. Enough space for 8 people to visit. We comfortably. Will go again..

Cozy quiet retreat

We absolutely loved this property. We were looking for a quiet, peaceful place to stay. The only sounds we heard were made by nature. This rental did not disappoint! We will definitely be back!

Nice Stay

The owner was very nice and very easy to work with. The cabin was very well equipped and just a short walk down to the lake. And a neighbor left a big bag of fresh corn on the cob on the porch! :)

Nice and quiet!

We were only there for 2 nights passing through for a few off days from our work schedule. The cabin was so cute! We brought food to cook on the grill both nights. Thank you for sharing your cabin - I hope we can go back again!

I'm a big fan of Truman Lake! Over the years, I’ve spent countless days out here fishing, boating, hunting, or just soaking in the peacefulness of the evenings. Everything you need is close by, and the kindness of the locals makes the area feel like home. I really can’t speak highly enough about it.

One of the things I enjoy most is hearing the stories from guests after their stay. I often hear about how much the kids love the play set—and how the slide off the deck brings out the inner child in the adults, too! But more than anything, people talk about the peace and quiet they experience while they’re here.

You can sit back and watch birds fly through the trees, deer wander across the backyard, and enjoy the charm of the Martin house. It’s a special place, and I’m always happy to share it.

I have loved spending time at Truman Lake for many years. It’s one of my favorite places to relax, fish, boat, hunt or just enjoy the outdoors. With hiking trails, picnic spots, and beautiful open water, there’s always something to do.

Truman Lake isn’t just scenic—it has a rich history. Truman is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake that was created in 1979, and named after Missouri native President Harry S. Truman. Today, it covers over 55,000 acres and supports both wildlife and recreation.

Whether I’m out on the water or exploring the area’s trails or boating, every visit reminds me why I love this place so much. If you’re looking for a peaceful, activity-filled getaway, or to just chill, I highly recommend it.
