The lakehouse is 2462 sq ft has cathedral ceilings, large decks, a screened gazebo with hot tub, fire pit and a private boat dock. Perfect for relaxing with oversized windows in the large living room for a year round scenic view of the lake and Laurel Mountain. Laurel Mountain Lake is a spring fed 60 acre lake with a sandy beach area and picnic table for community use.

Lake Life

Such a nice, quiet, relaxing stay. We enjoyed everything the lake had to offer - swimming, boating (kayaks & pedal boat provided) and fishing. Enjoyed the hot tub too. So nice that they welcome dogs. The house was very nice and had all the amenities we needed. Would recommend!

Spring Break

The house is in one of the quietest Lake Communities we’ve ever stayed in. House was perfect for a Spring Break getaway. It had everything needed for a fun family week stay, only had to leave for food! House was very clean and well kept. Hostess was very responsive and helpful from check-in to the time we left.

Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at this beautiful lake house! The house itself was spacious, clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The outside space was equally welcoming and we had a blast jumping off the dock and swimming during the day and having bon fires at night. It was a peaceful and serene setting. The hosts were very gracious and quick to respond to any questions we had. If you're looking for a stay on a quiet lake, this place is a must!

Lake house

Loved the house and the lake. Host responded quickly to any questions and was very patient. No “to-do” list at the end like most places. Saw a lot of deer. Lake was small enough to take the canoe to both ends, get a good bit of exercise in but not be worn out. Loved that there were no boats making wakes. Overall a great experience. One of the families favorite places we’ve stayed, and this is our 11th year trying to find a place we can agree on.

Holiday Stay

We stayed here because it was dog friendly and close to both family and reasonably placed near attractions (Dollywood). The house is lovely and the use of the kayaks made a day in extra fun for the kids. With the season being really busy I feel like the house needs a day off for some deep cleaning when possible. The split level was nice with kids. Two bedrooms down stairs one up. The drive way is very steep but even my passenger van made it fine but be cautious pulling in. The neighborhood was quite and relaxing. Plenty of kitchen utensils and a good bit of “extras” (like oil, spices, coffee, and sugar) Not the host fault but the previous renters did not clean up after their dogs (my lab/bloodhound loved that😅)

Tranquil

Ended up only my wife, our dog, and myself able use property. House in a gated community where I met a few of local residents. Pleasant and helpful with suggestions for area. Easy drive to destinations such.as Skyline as well was access to local restaurants and the big box variety. Water level in lake was low however with two nights of rain was getting filled. Plenty of utensils for a large group and food cabinets had some breakfast and starter items (we also contributed a few items). Only needed to contact owner one time however Carrie Joy was very responsive. There are wild animals such as white tail dear in the surrounding woods as well as we spotted an eagle catch a fish from the lake. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful Lake House

We came all the way from Upstate NY to visit with my sister who lives in Ga and felt that this would be the perfect place to be able to spend some long overdue time with her. The home is absolutely beautiful and was very clean inside and equipped with everything you needed. The lake was also beautiful and there are plenty of items available to use in the lake. Our problem, and the reason for the 4 stars was because the whole time we where there the grass was so high we couldn't even use the backyard. Previous vacationioners also did not pick up after their pets so when our dog would go in the backyard we had to be very careful walking back there. The evening before we left someone finally showed up and mowed the lawn. We never complained since it did not hinder our enjoyment, however it would have been nice if that was kept up since it looked like it hadn't been done in a while. They also did not weed whack the front or anything, they just took care of the backyard so the next vacationers are now seeing grass/weeds in the front yard that are well over a foot tall. We had a fantastic time and it is a beautiful home, we would highly recommend staying here. If we are ever in the area we would definitely stay again. I do want to mention that we did not make an effort to contact Carrie Joy about the lawn since we weren't bothered that much by it, most of our time was spent in the water. We believe that if we said something to Carrie Joy she would have taken care of it.

Lake House gave us a well needed break.

We were looking for a place to get away from the current stresses of Florida in September (i.e. COVID-19 surge, hurricanes, and ever increasing heat & humidity) We were looking for a place to remain isolated but close enough to either get food deliveries or be able to pick up orders. We found this and more at this Laurel Lake home. Now let me rave about this beautiful house. It was spacious and well stocked with everything! It even had a cauldron for the fire pit if the guest wanted to cook at the fire pit. There was plenty of supplies and equipment provided to enjoy the lake including a paddle boat and 2 kayaks. The unique floor plan allowed my family to follow their own desires while being all in one house. The house had every modern amenity. Including 2 coffee makers (keurig and traditional brewing), Crock pots, Wii, Roku (which provided many streaming networks like Netflix, Prime, Tubi, Hulu, Disney+, etc.) We stayed there a month and were still discovering new things about the house.(i.e. I found a stash of traditional board games a few days before we left). The lake itself was gorgeous and we loved the seclusion we felt while not being too far away from the main roads that we could not also enjoy the beauty of the area. There were so many parks and natural reserves. We frequently packed lunches and went to different parks to enjoy the TN beauty. Often we strayed from our original destination to find another place we didn't expect. The wildlife was wonderful to see and we saw black bears, Deer with fawns, and numerous other small animals and birds. There were 2 issues to note. First the roads there were surprisingly narrow and we didn't feel comfortable navigating at night. Second wifi was not as strong as I hoped. The owners did respond immediately upon notification and installed an extender the next day (so maybe that's a positive). The signal was more than adequate as a rule, but there were a few issues that arose. So In conclusion, This was a unique vacation that will be remembered. This house was a big part of our enjoyment. We did not want to leave but had to return. Thank you Carrie Joy for letting us stay in your home. We needed the break and enjoyed every day we were there.

Lovely little house on a lake

We loved our stay at the lake house. The house was perfect for our teen son and two small dogs. We all spent a lot of time fishing - from the dock, the shore, and even from the paddle boat! The location is very remote and private and the views from the house are gorgeous. The grilled often and spent a lot of time on the huge deck overlooking the lake. We had absolutely perfect weather and would definitely return.

Perfect Vacation House

We highly enjoyed our stay, the house had everything we could want and more. We loved the shower, the water pressure was amazing and enjoyed the fireplace every night. My husband and daughter loved fishing from the dock and kayaking, we also used the grill multiple times. The hot tub was very relaxing and my daughter got in it daily. Even with the 3 days of rain and Hurricane Helene’s side effects we loved our time at this property. The only negative is the tricky driveway, we parked in front of the upper garage as I was not comfortable with the driveway in front of the house.

Oh, but it's just a spider!

I rented this house for a relaxing week and to get some work done for my business. The check-in process was easy, but we were disappointed to find cobwebs everywhere! The kitchen had utensils, silverware, and pots, and maybe one pan. When we turned on the water, brown water came out initially. The provided coffee maker leaked water and had gritty white residue in the coffee. The freezer contained old food and ice with a strange smell. I also noticed limescale buildup in dishwasher, sinks, and shower, leaving a chalky residue on dishes and making everything feel dirty. The house wasn’t as clean as it appeared either. We were delighted with the private lake, peaceful atmosphere, and great fishing. The shaded dock was a plus for fishing anytime. My husband spent a week clearing cobwebs and saving me from spiders. The exterior of the house was covered in cobwebs, including every window and the screened-in porch. I wanted to use the hot tub, but I didn't dare because of all the spiders. We encountered brown recluses, black widows, and wolf spiders. Every morning, we had to clear spiderwebs from the back deck and outdoor furniture. Despite some considering it part of nature, I think the property needs a deep clean and pest control. I was very disappointed in our stay here because I felt like I couldn’t truly relax. I couldn’t spend much time outside because of the uncleanliness, and overall, I felt like I wasted my money. The lake is beautiful, but the house needs a lot of TLC.

Relaxing family vacation

Beautiful scenic walk around the lake on paved road. Quiet, private setting. Everything there to provide for a casual, carefree time. Thank you so much for such a nice stay.

Loved the house

Everything clean, lots of extra items in cupboards, spices, pots pans coffee, Host was very patient with my exhausted self checking in 3+ hours late at night after sitting in traffic jam after traffic jam. Since there was no cell service for T-Mobile, had to rely on my printout I thankfully made. Had printed the “wifi instructions” with all the door and WiFi codes, it stated garage remote on table- no remote but door would not open more than 6 inches even pushing button inside garage, and door had poison ivy growing on it so gave up on use of garage since it was a steep drop to house anyways. If arriving at night take flashlight, it is pitch black and motion activating lights on house don’t come on until you are underneath them, driveway narrow and steep in dark. Lake was like bath water temp and spent lots of time in lake. Sandy beach across lake. Very few people around. Did Gatlinburg and pigeon forge, each about 2 hours away with traffic. Walmart about 20 minutes. Also missed the section on listing stating no cable - just streaming, 2 TVs in house 36 inch in living room and master. Also electric blanket in master closet which always freezing husband was thankful for. Also multiple WiFi options, pick regular WiFi in main part of house and the extended option if in far bedrooms.

Excellent Place!

We thoroughly enjoyed the home and the lake! The lake was clean (no motors allowed) and perfect to swim in. Our 2 dogs also loved taking a dip. The house is very large and comfortable. So many places to sit inside and out. We saw many deer on the property and around. Great lake for fishing too! We had an amazing vacation!!

Great Lake House!

Could not have found a better lake house to stay in! Enjoyed swimming in the lake so much, loved the paddle boat, and the hot tub! The property had everything you needed, plenty of towels, blankets. Fully stocked kitchenware. Beds were comfortable as well. My only negatives were the amount of baby millipedes found on the first level of the house, especially in the bathroom. Had to kill and clean out dozens of them. Also the outside of the house could use some power washing, lots of dead bugs, spiderwebs, and bird poop. But other than that, everything was very clean.

Relaxing and Peaceful

Our stay was wonderful. It was very quiet all week and most times we were the only people on the lake, whether we were floating or kayaking. House was clean and equipped with all you would need, including toiletries (i forgot my toothbrush,but an unopened pack was provided), paper products, beach towels, floats and basic spices to cook with. Communication from the host was excellent. It felt more like staying at a friend or relative's home than a rental. I would not hesitate to come back and stay again.

Unplug and decompress

Wonderful rental to spend a week. The lake is beautiful and the neighborhood is so quiet at night that it is almost eerie. My wife, bother-in-law, and 2 Corgi dogs had a very relaxing week spent mostly on the large deck. The deck is great for dogs due to having gates, they could come in and out of the house as they pleased. Master bedroom/bathroom are spacious and comfortable. Two downstairs bedrooms were good size and have their own bathroom. Hardly any traffic on the road around the lake, but be prepared for a lot of turns on the road getting to the gate for the community. Overall one of the best VRBOs we’ve rented and definitely would stay there again.

Wonderful lake house

Cozy Lake Home

This place was perfect for us. Beautiful inside and out, incredible views, amazing fireplace, comfy bed in the master, all the details were there right down to the deck layout and the dog doors! Carrie Joy is easy to communicate with and a gracious host.

Unique home right on the lake, beautiful views

We had a great holiday. Only about an hour from Knox and close to all the towns that we wanted to visit. Home was stocked with everything needed.

Picture Perfect location

I'd have to recommend this place based on location alone. This was the perfect time of year to come with the leaves turning and sitting on this lake was a great location. The home is pretty well described in the listing and the owner answered any questions and responded quickly to any communication. The area is quiet, scenic and very restful yet close enough to Madisonville and Tellico Plains (try Tellico Plains Bakery and thank me later) that you have everything you'll need readily available. We really enjoyed the stay.
