Excellent location! Beautiful Apartment and brand new renovation. We really enjoyed our stay. The only minor inconvenience was the wifi, it doesn't work in the bedroom. But no big deal, we loved our family vacation. Thank you

Wonderful location

Wonderful location right on the boardwalk and not a far walk from both the southern entertainment and the northern eateries. Only improvement would be that it had better cooking pots/pans and more dishware.

Private Beach Vacation

We had a blast! Felt like you have your own private beach with the sandy area, our kids loved it. The building itself is a bit older but nicely updated inside and had a spacious outdoor deck. We already booked again for next Summer!!!

On the beach

The property was wonderfully located on the beach where you could watch the beautiful sunsets. Our family had a relaxing time sitting on the patio, walking the beach, and walking the boardwalk. Perfect family gathering.

Great time on Mission Beach

The property was perfect for our group! It was comfortable and met everyone’s needs. Everything to have a great time is within walking distance. Supplies were limited so be prepared to buy bathroom supplies.

The property managers were very responsive to questions we had. The location is perfect, and it was great to have two parking spaces. The house was clean.

Great Location!

Loved the location, the house was comfortable and welcoming. Did not like the super small garage and lack of parking. Only 2 very small cars could possibly fit...

Thanksgiving Family Getaway

Lovely property. Great location. The two-properties-in-one structure worked out perfectly for me and my family and allowed young adult family members their “own” space. I do wish, though, there was a tv in every bedroom. Wonderful experience overall.

Graduation Celebration

We couldn't have chosen a better place to host our son's college graduation. The outside deck is right on the ocean and big enough to host our entire group of 15. All beds and sofas were very comfortable, the kitchens were nicely stocked, and the units were super duper clean. We only wish there was more parking, ugh :(

Family Vacation

Great Family Vacation!!! We had 11 in total with plenty of beds. Perfect location. The place is beautifully decorated with all the water/beach toys. We tightly fit a minivan and mid-size SUV in the garage, but I recommend smaller cars. We saw dolphins from our patio surfing in the waves. Corn hole was a hit with everyone! We highly recommend this place!!!

Family

We were there for my nephews, marine graduation but unfortunately he had gotten sick and was not able to graduate. We still all got together and turned it into a family vacation. The house was perfect. The location was perfect. We absolutely enjoyed it.

Beach Front

Property was clean, but not up to date. The bathrooms were from the 1970's and fridge leaked all over the inside of the fridge and all over the floor. . Called property manager and they said they would take care of it...never heard or saw them!! Property was very clean but very outdated!! View was amazing.

Things needed to be updated and repaired. Location was perfect.

Amount for the property should be lower for the quality. Things needed to be repaired especially the lower unit. A little paint, new appliances, shower repaired. Deck, windows upstairs leaked rain inside. Nothing to sweep floors downstairs. Location was the best.

Huge Ocean Front Yard, Nicely Decorated, Endless Views

We would give this place a 5 star just for the huge patio on the ocean, it had a bbq, table and chairs, shade umbrella, and it's own sand area that our kids absolutely loved (they had cornhole onsite, which was a huge hit). Both homes are beautifully decorated, you can tell it was professionally done, and ocean views from the living rooms and kitchens. All the beds and most of the furniture was new. My only complaint was trash filled up fast with only 1 trash bin and 1 recycle bin and it would have been nicer to have more supplies. But a blast had by all, thanks again.

Over rated

Location is amazing, but travelling with a group of 14 with children and grand parents, we found that the appartments need some love. No lights on side of garage, deck has wave in it, miss steps a few times for my parents. Faucet broken, toilet leaking in one bathroom, both barbecues not working properly...i understand the location is perfect, we found that for the price we paid, we expected more.

In reviewing our communication, none of these items were reported besides the BBQs and we instructed to use a manual lighter and sent video instructions on how to work them.. We are very quick to respond to guest reports. Had we known about any of the other items, we would have been happy to send maintenance over immediately. We hope you otherwise enjoyed your time in San Diego.

Disappointed

The deck was a huge disappointment. It was a safety hazard for adults and children. Loose, warped, soft boards that were a trip hazard. Also, the floor of the bottom unit was filthy. Toddler was filthy within 5 minutes crawling on floor. I don’t think it had been mopped in quite a while.

We want to highlight how professionally the hosts handled the unexpected situation. The original home we booked (this one) ended up having house issues and wasn’t available for our dates, but the team at Surf Style Vacation Homes quickly offered us five alternative properties to choose from. Once we selected the one we liked, the changeover was seamless—we received updated welcome instructions and access codes right away with zero hiccups, with no change or increase in fees. The new home was absolutely gorgeous (see review below for the new home): What a beautiful, gorgeous, and stylishly updated home! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well thought-out and comfortable everything was. The views were absolutely top notch, and the layout was perfect for our group—great bedroom options, plenty of bathrooms, and lots of space for everyone to relax.One of the biggest highlights was how easy checkout was. The cleanup requirements were a breeze (especially compared to other rentals), which made the end of our stay stress-free. Everything in the home worked perfectly, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking and cleaning.We stayed with 5 couples, and every single one of us had an amazing time. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this home. The only suggestion we’d have would be adding a fire pit or fire bowl downstairs, which would make the outdoor space even more incredible.

2/10 Terrible

Disappointing & Complete Lack of Responsiveness

We rented 3455 Ocean Front Walk, Rip Curl 3, October 20 – October 23. We were very disappointed to learn that the refrigerator was not working in the downstairs unit. We traveled with young children and had planned to spend all of our meals at the house, so we knew we would need access to both fridge units throughout the weekend to do so. We contacted Surf Style at 9 am Friday morning to let them know about the issue and were told that someone would come to repair it the same day. A couple bags of ice were dropped off that afternoon, but no other assistance or attempts to rectify the situation were made by the Surf Style team. Because we were not able to store everything in one fridge, we had to spend additional, unplanned funds to feed our family during the weekend. This resulted in an overall disappointing and frustrating weekend.

Perfect for large family gathering

Location is everything here!! We stayed here for my moms 80th bday. There was 12 of us, including teenagers and small children and the place was perfect for them. It was so peaceful to wake up to a gorgeous beach view. We were less than a 10 minute walk from Belmont Park which had amusement park rides, arcade games, rock climbing wall, zip line, bumper cars, ropes course and lots of fun food! And it was so fun to rent bikes and rollerblades and walk up and down the strand. We never left the beach! It was hard to find a 5 bedroom house that was right on the beach and this was exactly what we wanted. Although it is 2 separate units, the upstairs was big enough so we could all eat and hang out together. We had so much fun playing corn hole in the back yard. As other guests have mentioned, and I recommend reading all reviews, the place could use some updating, so don’t expect everything to work perfectly. And the garage is tight but we were able to fit a minivan and a Honda CRV. You just have to unpack and get everyone out of the car before you park. But the cars fit and the house was clean. Surf Style was very responsive when we had any questions. Overall, this place was perfect for a large family. You’re right on the beach and great food everywhere. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed. Our family had the best time and my mom is already recommending this place to her friends.

Paying for Great location, wouldn’t stay at the house again!

-We had 2 trucks and neither fit in the garage by 2 ft easy so we had to find street parking and then received a 52$ parking ticket for parking on a street sweeping day so we had to keep moving the trucks, -the washer and dryer didn’t work, washer didn’t drain the nasty water and the dryer wouldn’t dry at all so we had to go to the laundromat, The dishwasher in the downstairs kitchen leaked all over the floor and didn’t clean the dishes so we had to wash by hand all weekend. Very poor lighting in the living room and bedrooms, didn’t realize the top floor and bottom floor were two separate units we rented the entire house and had to go outside up the side stairs to get upstairs which didn’t make for a fun weekend. If you’re staying there I would definitely bring more towels and make sure you have a car or a small SUV because anything big will not fit in the garage the garage and beach toys were absolutely filthy spiderwebs everywhere. For what you pay this was the least favorite vacation home in the last year but again you are paying for location
