Welcome to Maple Street Cottage! A newly remodeled residence in downtown Sparta, TN. We welcome guests and their pets to explore all the area has to offer while visiting the charming little town. The Upper Cumberland has over a dozen waterfalls to visit and four state parks (Fall Creek Falls, Burgess Falls, Rock Island and Virgin Falls) are within a 45 minute drive from the cottage.

The house features a wide porch perfect for drinking coffee and enjoying the weather. The cottage is over 100 years old and has been newly remodeled to offer guests all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay while keeping the charm and character of a beautiful historic property. Guests will be greeted with a spacious living room with fire place, a king and queen bed, two bathrooms, a full kitchen open to the dining room featuring a large farmhouse table and a laundry room with a ping pong table and dart game. The outdoor area is fully fenced and welcomes guests to enjoy a fire pit, corn hole game, outside dining table, and a lounge deck. (Please note: for the safety of our guests, there is an outdoor camera on the porch)

Guest are steps away from the downtown square of Sparta, Tennessee where they can find the local coffee shop, an herbal apothecary shop, pizzeria, family friendly brewery, and several boutiques including a specialty pet store. Sparta is a quaint and charming town, perfect for a getaway of any type! The area is renowned for outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, cycling, and rock climbing. Great house and location

The house was as good as the pics in the listing. Very nice, and hosts were always available. Location to the town square was great and in quick walking distance to the Coffee Collective for breakfast, Marioochi’s Pizza for dinner, and Happy Trails Brewing for beer and a burger. All were great! Very friendly town too.

Quick getaway

The house was charming! Street in front a little busier than expected. We enjoyed the back deck and cooking in the kitchen. A few minor things we wondered about. Overall great stay!

Feels like home

2nd time staying here. Very clean and updated charming old cottage that is a block off the town square. House is well-equipped, and host is very responsive. We feel at home at this property. See ya next time.

Great Rental

This property is absolutely gorgeous and it’s centrally located to all the cool things to explore in this area of TN. After exploring nature’s beauty (anything from Cumberland Caverns to Burgess Falls), clean up in one of two beautifully modeled bathrooms, relax by the outdoor fire and get a great night’s sleep in superb bedding. Enough room to feel spacious with thoughtful decor to make it feel cozy. A+++

Downtown Liberty Square 3 Day Getaway

We love how Dog Friendly this property is! All the little added dog touches were much appreciated. They loved sunbathing out back. If you have small dogs they may be able to get out under the fence and through the rails on the back porch. Ours didn’t have that problem! The house was plenty big enough for us and the other couple with their dog. The home was right in downtown next to Liberty Square with in walking distance. Several places to eat and shop, but for whatever reason pretty much everything around the square closes on Sunday. Cookeville is a short distance North up Spring Street. We stayed in the second bedroom and the bed seemed firm to me. The other couple said the king was fine. Loved the big fluffy bath towels! There was YouTube Live and games available to play. Coffee Pods and snacks were there for us to use and even a bowl for water and food for the dog. They honestly thought of everything. We have stayed at several homes and this one was very nice! Thank you for being such a wonderful host!

As advertised…well maintained historic property with appropriate modern updates. First class furnishings and amenities throughout. A couple of issues from the previous guests were fixed immediately. The property was extremely clean. Would highly recommend this unit.

The cottage is exactly as described. It’s clean and stocked with supplies (very much appreciated). Bedrooms, family room and dining room are very comfortable. Kitchen and laundry/playroom are functional and well-stocked Everything we used worked well. This is an exceptional property…..far better than most that are available. The host is very responsive. There are several parks and waterfalls easily reached from downtown Sparta.

Cozy and Comfortable

This was a great place to stop for the night on our 2000 mile journey. It was close to coffee and restaurants and the home was clean and well equipped. We would definitely stay again.

Charmed, We're Sure!

Charming cottage home, charming town!We chose this home due to its location to so many waterfalls in middle TN. We wanted a quick getaway with our daughter and pups! This home was perfect! From the decor to having everything and more for our dogs to enjoy (they loved the backyard and morning walk around the town square). We enjoyed breakfast on the back patio and evening tea on the front porch. We loved being able to walk for great options whether it was shopping, grabbing a drink at a brewery or dinner next door. Sparta is a quiet community we used as our base for daily hikes. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for meals together. The layout of the home is great for gathering and reconnecting. We'd absolutely stay here again the next time we visit middle TN!

AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN

The house was amazing---warm, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Such effort put into every detail of the design. Each night we had a fire outside or sat on the porch during the day. The location was perfect...we loved the coffee shop around the corner, the pizza place and the clothing store. The house was great---really great but this stay was about the host. She is amazing. Before I got there she responded to everything, sent me recommendations like the pizza place and while we there, we needed her for something and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND. A great host and human. We are planning to meet there annually and stay in this house.

Great home near downtown Sparta

This 2 bedroom / 2 bath home is very clean and steps away from downtown Sparta. Walked to the coffee shop, wood-fired pizza place and other shops. Nice porch, sat on it with my labrador every morning and night. We visited with family that lives nearby.

Girls wknd trip

Had a girl's wknd trip and stayed at this lovely home! It was perfect! Plenty of space for 6 of us, very homey and relaxing and right by town square. Hosts were very responsive and we loved the lil treats! Would definitely stay here again!

This is the second year we've stayed at the cottage and it did not disappoint! Great location whether you are staying local or venturing out to other attractions. The home is welcoming and very well kept and stocked with all necessary amenities. The owners are very responsive to questions and checked in to see how we were doing shortly after we arrived. I've traveled the world and seen breathtaking landscapes but I still find the beauty of the Upper Cumberland peaceful and awe inspiring. In the past I've been a geologist, tour guide in Alaska, and a professional photographer but now I have the joy of showing guests all that the area has to offer during their visit. I'm happily married and have a wonderful little boy and we enjoy camping, hiking and bike riding! I'm happy to answer any questions and look forward to helping you enjoy TN!
