Other nearby attractions: Calfkiller Brewery, Northfield Vineyards, the Mennonite Communities of Fall Creek Falls and Muddy Pond. In the area for a family wedding, ideal location to the area parks and sights! Such a restful location on the water quiet with clear views of the stars from the deck. Comfortable spaces for all the guests, wished we had been able to enjoy the outdoor sitting areas more! Tucked away off the main road along the creek. Would love to come back later in fall, it has to be gorgeous with all the colors!!

This was the perfect house to have a getaway and a great location for all the waterfalls we wanted and got to visit. Can't recommend this place enough! So sweet of the co-hosts to leave fresh bananas nut bread and fresh eggs but especially sweet to loan Meryl and Luna (dog and cat). They made the stay so much more fun!

This is a beautiful property with wonderful hosts. Very peaceful with occasional coyotes at night, a view and access to the river and a wonderful rural feel. House is well set up with a roomy kitchen, beautiful deck, comfortable beds. Here for our daughter's wedding at River Cliff, we found this place to be perfect location. Close to Sparta for a great meal at Brother's Tavern or a walk around the square. Hosts are very responsive and friendly. We'd move in tomorrow if we could .

Everything was perfect. We had a homemade loaf of banana bread waiting for us when we arrived. Very clean, comfortable, and felt like home. The family also enjoyed the friendly neighborhood visitors.

This was our second time staying here, and it was as amazing as the first time. The house is beautiful, clean, and right on the river. We were greeted with fresh banana bread and a dozen fresh eggs. We love our visits from Luna and Merle. And there is so much to do in the area!

Quiet, clean and great accommodations

Stayed here with my wife and sister, very pleasant experience. The river was beautiful. Very close to Sparta and many state parks. Will definitely be coming back.

Great accommodations in a great hiking area

We chose this location and rental due to location and other great reviews. It is centrally located to many state parks but there is also the option to kayak right out the back door. Large windows overlook the river with beautiful sunrises. Great options for food and ice cream (our favorite treat) nearby.

This is a very comfortable home and everything we needed was there. Communication with the host was great. We really enjoyed the out side cats who visited at least 2x day. It was nice to use the kayaks on the river. We would definitely stay again.

Our stay here was outstanding! Check in and check out was seamless, with prompt communication. We enjoy hiking and kayaking, and there is an abundance of that in this area! We enjoyed relaxing on the deck overlooking the river, it was very peaceful.

Dream stay for paddlers

We absolutely loved the place. It was very comfortable and the river was just so pleasant to paddle. It was within driving distance of so many state parks with amazing waterfalls, and the local pizzeria and coffee shop were excellent suggestions. Thanks for an hosting us on this wonderful little vacation, we really enjoyed it!

Our home sits right along side the Calfkiller River, which is a 42.4 mile-long stream in the east-central portion of Middle Tennessee in the United States. It is a tributary of the Caney Fork, and is part of the Cumberland, Ohio, and Mississippi watersheds.
The Calfkiller River is great for fishing and kayaking, and you'll have access directly to the river right outside in the backyard.
