Amazing views of the lake and located in a great private community. Beautiful decks to eat and relax on. Great exercise walking up and down the outside stairs. House was clean and cozy.

Beautiful home in the best location on Candlewood Lake - very private and secure. The house is extremely comfortable, with two huge decks overlooking the lake, one covered, which was great for rain and too much sun and the other offering views all day. The floating dock is wonderful for swimming, kayaking etc as well as watching sunsets, fireworks and the stars at night— just a beautiful property! The hosts are responsive and the process in and out was very easy.We also rented a pontoon boat from Gerard’s marina which was such fun- highly recommended!

Perfect location, well equipped from decks and dock, kayaks and fire pit. Beautiful well kept landscape. Nice open floor plan for family gatherings.

What a beautiful setting! 180 degrees of gorgeous lake views, tucked between lush, large trees and nestled down a beautifully landscaped slope…breathe, listen to the birdsongs, watch fish leap and cranes gently glide, take a dip, row a kayak and enjoy the laughter of families passing by on the lake! The house is very clean and has everything needed for a relaxing and fun stay. Tho there are stairs, the view from them is great! They’re solid, wide and have handrails as they curve downward. The owners are lovely and extremely helpful!

Beautiful home on Candlewood Lake. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. Lovely to spend time sitting on the decks or wharf - so relaxing. Hosts very responsive to any questions.

Great view and home

The view in the fall was amazing! So relaxing to sit and watch the lake while having our coffee. The owners are amazing. Everything we needed and more. Plenty of room for the family or even if multiple families stayed. Would stay here again!

Cozy lakeside holiday getaway

Our family's stay at Helen and Richie's property for the holidays was perfect. Waking up to views of the lake every morning, watching flocks of birds travel on the water and being surrounded by nature was all we could ask for. The house has all amenities provided in the kitchen, bathrooms etc. Location is convenient near shops, grocery, and restaurants in New Fairfield. The hosts were very responsive in communication and I appreciated them providing everything we needed.

Friends Trip

This beautiful home was very comfortable for a friends gathering with plenty of seating to enjoy the beautiful lake views from the deck or inside the house. The bathrooms were clean & the beds were comfortable. As the property description clearly states there are a lot of stairs which was not an issue for our active group. If ever looking to stay in this area again I would definitely look to return here!

If you enjoy climbing stairs and/or walking up and down steep inclines, this is the place for you! Unpacking our car was a blast. The house was spotless with great views of the lake. The lake itself is fantastic for boating, fishing and kayaking. We definitely had a memorable vacation.

Amazing v generous stay.

We loved everything about this house. The lake and the floating dock were perfect. We brought paddle boards and used the kayaks everyday. The views and patios were terrific. The house had everything we needed as a family of five and a dog. Generous number of spices, towels, blankets, etc. games / puzzles / and everything smells nice as well! Thanks for a wonderful experience, Helen and Richie!

Beautiful lake front

This place has stunning views of the lake with a large dock to park your boat at. The house is on one of the most desirable place on candlewood lake, We had a great time. Place was clean and the owners are good people. Caught a large catfish off the dock. Spent the days on the boat around the lake and at nearby islands. Only heads up is there are stairs throughout the property so be able to climb stairs. Thanks and we will be back

My stay at rhe anchorage

We had a great time. Kids had a wonderful time fishing and swimming. Only draw back was the 54 steep stairs you had to climb getting too and from your car and the home. Has a senior it was tough. Anyone with a handicap would not be able to do it.

Yes not meant for those that have trouble climbing stairs (as described in the listing). These stairs positions the home on the lake edge (uncommon) with unobstructed views (uncommon) and with a few steps to access the lake (uncommon). Despite the difficulties glad you all had a great time. Happy to see you have booked again for 2024.

Lakefront Beauty

The property was as described and the living space was perfect for our visit. The deck and views are amazing. If staying at this property, you just need to be aware that it is very difficult getting luggage and groceries into the property. You have to go down a long flight of stairs, walk down a very steep driveway and then go down another flight of stairs. Once you are in, bedroom access requires that you go up or down additional stairs.

We had a lovely time. Everything was great, this was our 2nd year there. I do think it would be nice if some updates were made-could use a new fridge(we brought our own water bc the water/ice filtration system doesn't work on the fridge. And our own ice maker, and -as the owners have stated it is a long/steep walk-so to be carrying waters down the driveway is a bit difficult) ) The decks also could use some TLC in our opinion. But all in all-its great!
