Scott was a great host, and we really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was well stocked, and the bathroom was comfortable. Having the kayaks and life jackets sitting down by the water, ready to use, was a really nice touch.The driveway is a little tricky to navigate with larger vehicles, but if you know the area, that’s par for the course.We will definitely be back!

Our stay at Candlewood Cabin exceeded our expectations! The view of Squantz Pond from the home was majestic and serene. The home was clean and well stocked with everything a traveler could need. Thank you Scott for your clear communication and hospitality.

Great place to stay

This was a great place for our family to stay while we were visiting some family nearby. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of room for us and our two kids.

Beautiful location, Amazing view! Very Functional space with a lots of hiking nearby. Still close to grocery stores and it took us an hour and fifteen minutes to get there from NYC. We had an awesome weekend. Almost instant, clear and helpful communication from the host Scott.

Amazing Weekend Getaway!!

Absolutely love the 2 bedroom , 1 bathroom house. It was the ideal weekend escape with a charming atmosphere. From the cozy bedrooms to the well-equipped bathroom, everything was top-notch for a relaxing stay! I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!!

Nice lake setting, but significant undisclosed issuesWe stayed for a week and unfortunately encountered several problems that weren't disclosed before booking. We found water intrusion and a mold-like stain on the baseboard inside a closet — likely from recent heavy rain in the area. We hadn't been using that closet and kept it closed the entire stay.More seriously, the driveway was extremely difficult and unsafe to navigate, making parking a real challenge. The home is right on busy state route 39 and there is a steep climb to get to the flat portion of the driveway. The flat part can hold one car and allow to turn around. It is also difficult to cross the busy street to get to the lake. We had planned a small pre-dinner gathering for six of us, but the owner informed us that we were not allowed any day guests beyond the two of us, citing a septic system that couldn't handle additional people on the property at any time. This day guest restriction was never mentioned in the listing or before our arrival, and we ended up canceling our plans with friends because of both the guest limit and the unsafe parking situation. There are also 39 steps to get to the property. This is the only access, so it is not right for anyone with mobility issues. We'd strongly encourage the owner to disclose the septic-related occupancy limits and the driveway/parking conditions clearly in the listing, since both significantly affected our stay.

Comfortable with a lovely view!

The most important thing for me at any house or hotel is the comfort of the bedding and, I’ve got to say, I slept like a baby every night! Both the mattress and the pillows were incredibly comfortable. The view was amazing and, because I was there for work, made for a wonderful respite after stressful days. There were even a few visits from some deer which I don’t see often. On top of all of this, the house was immaculately clean. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway. Scott answered all of my questions within minutes and was incredibly helpful. Thank you, Scott, for a lovely stay!

Great Weekend Girls Trip

This was such a relaxing weekend getaway for me and my bestie! Our goal was to spend some time sipping wine and catching up in a place we could feel at home, with a great view. This beautiful cottage did not disappoint! Close to wineries and cute little towns for shopping, beautifully decorated, and a great view. Scott was great! We had a little trouble opening the front door lock (total user error) and Scott was able to help us immediately. He was super communicative and made himself available with additional questions. I will definitely be looking into a weekend this summer once the weather is a little warmer! Great place and a great host!
