Quaint, Cozy, Historic 3BR/2BA Cottage - Six Blocks from Beach

A unique, almost 100 year old Laguna writer's home, still owned by original family. The house is three bedrooms, two baths, set on a half acre of wooded hillside, six blocks from the beach, one mile south of downtown Laguna Beach, near BlueBird Canyon.

One of Laguna's early homes, built simply with pine walls and floors, the house has a good-sized living and dining room with a wonderful fireplace.

Soaring eucalyptus trees planted around the perimeter of the property in the 1920s host a variety birds and migrating monarch butterflies. The natural, spacious landscape encourages the play of children.

The beach is a short walk from the house and offers a fascinating
change of scene as tides work their way in and out.

Perfect as an artist or family retreat.

Total Gem

This place is a gem and is the second time we've rented it in the last 10 years. We had 3 kids with us and it was perfect for our stay, we hope to come back annually.

Amazing stay in a historical cabin

We highly recommend this location for a stay in Laguna Beach or Irvine. It is an amazing structure that dates back to the 1920s. We loved seeing the stages of development recorded in the main room photos. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner, and we looked forward to our daily walks in the neighborhood. We cannot wait to return in the future!

Cozy cabin in eucalyptus trees

We loved our time in Laguna in this cozy 1920s cabin in a grove of eucalyptus trees. At times i felt like I was in a tree house, it was so delightful. The deck made for lovely mornings with a cup of coffee and cocktail hour as the sun set. We appreciated how walkable it is to the beach coves. The fireplace made for a cozy winter visit. We appreciate the family history of this cottage and are grateful for our time there.

Charming cabin in a wonderful location

We enjoyed the quirkiness and charm of the home - made us feel like we were in a mountain cabin and yet it was right near the beach and downtown. Nice quiet neighborhood to go on walks and for families.

Beach retreat

Our best stay yet!

This little cottage near the beach was just what we needed!! It was quiet and quaint but close to all the beach action. We’d love to make this our yearly spot!!

Wonderful retreat

Wire Cottage

Coming from the Los Angeles fires, my family was feeling very fragile. As luck would have it, we met a wonderful mother at Bluebird Park, Laura, who introduced us to this rental. Charming, restorative, peaceful--we couldn't have asked for more during our stay with our 15 month old son. Surrounded by light, trees and wood, we enjoyed beautiful meals on the deck and walks through the serene neighborhood to the beach. We will definitely be coming back and cannot wait for others to share a similar experience.

Great Stay in Laguna

Went to Laguna for my wedding and got this place for my parents, brother and grandmother. This place was perfect for them. Plenty of space, cozy and all the amenities were great.

Nice hideaway in Laguna

Very quaint and charmingly rustic. Tucked away in the hillside trees and close to Woods Cove. Perfect setting. We had a relaxing winter getaway at the beach and weather was cool but lovely.

Cottage bliss

Our 2nd time staying at Wire Cottage and it was perfect again. Simple walk down to the beach and town, plenty of pots, pans, plates, cooking materials, etc. and the hobbit sized doorways were still as fun as ever. The deck area is perfect to sit and read at in the afternoon or evening and the neighborhood was fantastically quiet, even during the 4th of July weekend.

Old Laguna in the woods

Super cute place to stay. At Christmas, sunset over the water perfectly lines up with the view. Quiet and woodsy; walkable to town and the beach.

Heaven on the Hill

Wire Cottage is magical. We loved the spirit and vibe during our stay in Laguna Beach. A perfect get away for family dinners and game night. Everything we needed for quality time together.

Beautiful spot

The neighborhood cannot be beat — lush, private, quiet and close to both the beach and town. The cabin is rustic and the layout a little funky (you enter through one of the bedrooms) but we loved it. The patio is a great place for coffee, lunch, drinks/dinner and there’s a nice view of the ocean. We will definitely do another girls getaway here.

Christmas Gift

This was a gift to my daughters and sons in law. The owner worked with me to make it happen fir them. The house was discribed just as advertised and the had a very good time. Will book again sometime.

Cute But Old Little Cottage

Location was perfect. The lock box for the key was a little finickey and took a few brains to open. We did encounter a few spiders trying to crawl into our suitcase one of the nights. Overall a great location and a cute little place! Cons: Doorways are extremely narrow Floors creek everywhere you step Spider visitors Pros: Great location Easy to get to Beautiful outdoor patio

Very quirky but lovable

Loved the cabin & reading about its history. Apparently the cleaners did not show up to clean/wash sheets, towels and empty trash cans. I would recommend finding a new service.

Unique, cozy, charming stay

The house and property are historic and a truly unique experience. Loved the history, the view, and the location. If you are used to a king-sized bed with your partner, the beds are small (double/queen). They are good quality but on the harder side. That would not keep me from coming back. The sunset views over the ocean from the porch are amazing, a 5-minute walk to the beach. Close drive to Crystal Cove, my favorite. Enjoyed all the historical information about the property, Orange County, and Laguna. Highly recommend this property.
