Quaint, Cozy, Historic 3BR/2BA Cottage - Six Blocks from Beach

A unique, almost 100 year old Laguna writer's home, still owned by original family. The house is three bedrooms, two baths, set on a half acre of wooded hillside, six blocks from the beach, one mile south of downtown Laguna Beach, near BlueBird Canyon.

One of Laguna's early homes, built simply with pine walls and floors, the house has a good-sized living and dining room with a wonderful fireplace.

Soaring eucalyptus trees planted around the perimeter of the property in the 1920s host a variety birds and migrating monarch butterflies. The natural, spacious landscape encourages the play of children.

The beach is a short walk from the house and offers a fascinating
change of scene as tides work their way in and out.

Perfect as an artist or family retreat.

Great place to slow things down. Walking distance to it all... even grocery store Ralph's. We enjoyed the vibe of relax and don't take ithings too seriously. We will return.

This home is an historic gem, a throw-back to very early Laguna Beach, and what many homes in CA coastal communities used to look like. It is very rustic and cabin-like. Cozy inside with a lovely deck outside. You'll feel as though you are in a tree-house. Very private. Five-stars for the uniqueness and the historic quality, but a 4-star rating overall because the bed comfort needs some updating. Would stay again.

The cottage was located in a quiet, peaceful area just a short walk from the beach. It provided the privacy and relaxation my husband wanted and the proximity to shops and restaurants that my young adult children wanted. It offered the best of both worlds.

The home was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. We loved its' cozy, rustic charm; as well as the proximity to the beach and shops. We had to change dates 2x leading up to our stay and Steve/Annette were very gracious and accommodating.

This cottage was perfect, a true respite from the noise of the world chaos Surrounded by huge ancient trees one might think you were in the mountains. Birds singing and a view from every window. Friendly Cats to greet you outside the kitchen door each morning. A really well stocked VRBO. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and even two cork screws! Oh , and a normal size refrigerator too. Plenty of towels & and linens. I felt as if I was stepping into someone’s home.It is a joy filled place, with a good spirit ..Inside the front door is a beautiful piece of hand embroidery that welcomes the GUEST. Be sure to read the old beige guest book, including the history of the cabin..written by Hugh Wire, the son of Harold Wire the original builder of the cabin. So very thankful to the Wire Family for opening their home to travelers.Eileen

The cottage definitely lived up to the 5 star reviews I read before arriving. Comfortable, romantic, peaceful, and within easy walking distance to restaurants and beaches. We were in town for a wedding and so glad to be staying here and not at a hotel.

It is a pretty place. There was no coffee, shampoo or fans, (which were needed the fbut that might be normal in CA.

It’s a great location. The property owners were kind and responsive. I know it is an area in demand and property is expensive but the property needs some updating.It doesn’t have air. We didn’t need it most of the time, but when we arrived, the temperature of the house was 80 inside. I realize that would be a significant expense to add air conditioning.The front bedroom is a little musty smelling. The cranks on some of the windows don’t work, and there aren’t screens on all of the windows when you open them. The coffee maker could use an upgrade.We loved the cottage feel of the place. We love the closeness to the main strip of Laguna Beach. We love the deck for just hanging out and birdwatching in the cool trees that are on the property. Finally, it was really nice to have the ample parking area.Overall, we really enjoyed the place.

This little cottage near the beach was just what we needed!! It was quiet and quaint but close to all the beach action. We’d love to make this our yearly spot!!

Charming cabin in a wonderful location

We enjoyed the quirkiness and charm of the home - made us feel like we were in a mountain cabin and yet it was right near the beach and downtown. Nice quiet neighborhood to go on walks and for families.
