Stunning 4 Season Lake Burntside Log Cabin

Welcome to our Lake Burntside 4 Season retreat. This newer hand scribed 1,700 square foot log cabin on 2 acres of property and 200’ of frontage on the pristine waters of Lake Burntside is only 9 miles from Ely town ctr and minutes to the boundary waters canoe area.

The open plan cabin has a master bedroom and full bathroom on the main level as well as a loft with full bath, sleeping up to 8 in beds. It has a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, great views and large patio overlooking the lake as well as a new barrel sauna down by the water and dock.

In the summer, use our canoe or keep your boat on the dock as you enjoy fishing, watersports, canoeing and endless water activity on the +7,000 acre Lake Burntside known for its crystal clear waters as well as it’s fishery of Lake Trout, Whitefish, Walleye, Northern, perch and pan fish . For winter, the home is well insulated with heated floors so take advantage of abundant cross country and snowmobile trails (snowmobile trail passes right by property on lake) or enjoy snowshoeing, ice fishing, dogsledding, or just relaxing with hot cocoa or wine in front of the fire. Enjoy fall colors by taking a hike on one of the many trails within minutes of the cabin.

Fabulous stay! They had great beds and endless blankets! Great dock for fishing our having a pontoon/boat rental. Sauna was awesome!Main level had a full bathroom and queen size bed bedroom. Upstairs had a king with 2 kids beds and a cot bed, again with plenty of blankets and sheets!It was so peaceful couldn’t really see the neighbors and it was just amazing to see how dark the sky can get into seeing all the stars.Perfect stay for a family!

Fantastic view of the lake. One of the best kept properties I have ever stayed in.

We had a great stay at this cabin. It is a jewel in the woods. Caught a 42 in. northern off the dock.

Perfecto

A super clean and super comfortable log cabin ( itself a work of craftsmanship) with all the amenities. Comfortable seating and beds, Great lake views from inside and down by the lake and quite private. It is hands down the best stocked place ever including sharp knives(!!!), scissors, paper, pens, tape, power strip were extra bonus items we seldom see. The lake was quiet in this pre-season time except for lovely loon calls.

Nice year round destination

We enjoyed the easy access to numerous snowmobile trails. Wonderful sauna to warm up after the ride. Would also be great for a summer destination.

Beautiful log cabin at the edge of the BWCA

We had a great time. The sauna is awesome and I loved doing cold plunges in the lake between rounds. The cabin is very nice and we enjoyed the view of the lake from the loft. You won't regret staying here.

Beautiful lakeside cabin

Fantastic property with stunning views of the lake! We saw wolves run across the frozen expanse! The space is just what you want from a log cabin including the sauna. Loved our stay and we would go again!

Perfect

This was our third time staying here and hope to be able to return. The hosts are always kind and timely with their communication. The home is clean, relaxing, and quiet. We spent our time canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, sitting by the lake, reading, and playing games. Easy access to Ely. Would highly recommend!

The Perfect Northwoods Cabin

This property is spotless and beautiful. It feels very secluded, but is an easy, beautiful drive into Ely. The view is incredible from everywhere in the house and this part of the Burntside Lake is sparsely populated. We were here in November so no snow and now swimming, and yet it was so peaceful and lovely. We enjoyed the sauna and the Adirondack chairs very much! Also loved the fireplace, the comfy furniture and beds and the unique and giant dining room table. The hosts were so kind and helpful - they truly above and beyond and we were grateful for them! We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Good experience. Great location.

This was a great time of the year to be here. Barely anyone on the lake except the loons and the eagles, and the water was still warm enough for swimming. Far enough north where you are away the from traffic noise. Good water access: great dock for sitting, swimming, fishing, or launching a canoe. Very peaceful north woods experience in a comfortable cabin in a beautiful location. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Book now and relax later.

Spur of the moment getaway had everything we needed. Just bring clothes and food. Check in was easy and we enjoyed the SPECTACULAR VIEWS of the sunset. The sauna was easy to operate and the beds were comfy. We are a family of 5 but there was plenty of space for more. Planning on booking again soon.

Relaxing Cabin By The Lake

We loved spending a few days here relaxing! The cabin was beautiful and it was very cozy. It was full of everything we needed: dishware, silverware, dishwasher, washer/dryer, plenty of comforters/linens, comfortable furniture, fireplace, fire pit… the list goes on! There were amazing views of the lake and we enjoyed our time reading by the fire. We will be coming back in the Autumn! - Kevin & Bethany

It was just right

The home was just right. Comfortable, spacious and roomy for our family. The home included a great kitchen for all the family meals. Very large dining table/ benches to gather at. Two bathrooms. Very large upstairs with lots of room and areas to sleep and a large bedroom on the main floor. We had a warm February stay full of sunshine and mild temps. Thank you Jason and Jennifer for the perfect family getaway.

Beautiful spot

Our weekend at this home was wonderful. The house is beautiful and so comfortable and the views in every direction are magical- a winter wonderland. The sauna near the lake was an added treat. We were in the area to try dog sledding. The house was not far from Ely to explore town and the dog sledding outfitter was easy to reach. Yet we felt like we were tucked away in the woods. Recommend this spot to everyone. We hope to return.

Such a nice place. We will definitely be coming back, but probably during the summer months to use the hiking trails and canoe more. The only real "complaint" was there was no Kleenex in the house. :)

Beautiful home, and perfect view

Great log cabin loft home right on the lake. View from the living room overlooking the lake was fabulous! Fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms one with shower/tub and the other a shower. Plenty of towels, kitchen and bath. And a huge bonus, a sauna! House was very clean, with comfortable furniture . Communications were easy, accurate and very, very fast. A wonderful, home perfect for ANY season of the year.

Peaceful Northwoods Vacation

This property and the community of Ely and surrounding towns provided a perfect, peaceful Northwoods family vacation. Check-in was extremely simple and the hosts were accommodating. The cabin is beautiful and provides ample space for our family of 5. There was plenty of room for everyone to have space of their own. The lake was stunning and very quiet and we spent a lot of time enjoying the comfortable seating and dock area. Our children (aged 16 to 3) were able to swim by the dock safely and loved it. I would recommend bringing water tubes or float pads as the lake is a lot of fun. The cabin provides seclusion from neighbors and it was honestly so quiet, that you could hear your ears ring ;) But that's a great thing! The town of Ely had everything we needed - Zup's grocery store, gas stations, and several fun shops & outfitters. Every single store we stopped in, we were greeted with friendly people. If you are looking for a rustic, charming getaway, Ely is the place. I would also recommend renting a Pontoon from Lakeview Lodge - they deliver it to the public boat access just down the road from the cabin and you can dock it at the property. There are several fun and interesting family activities throughout the area, as well as great restaurant options. All in all - it was a great place for a vacation!

Wonderful property and great stay overall! Very clean, well maintained and good communication. Fireplace inside was nice and loved the sauna by the lake. As others have said, a little steep navigating down to the lake but not too bad overall. We have one child in a wheelchair and didn’t make the attempt out of caution but otherwise no issues. Enjoyed having puzzles and games to keep us busy with downtime. Would suggest a little brighter bulbs in the dining room as it was difficult to see the puzzle later in the day. All in all, a really great experience in a beautiful location on the lake. Thank you!

We love lake life and believe there is nothing like Lake Burntside. It is pristine, serene, amazing for fishing and watersports or just canoeing and relaxing. We are a very active family and fell in love with the area as there are so many outdoor options. The town of Ely is full of little shops and wonderful people who show world class hospitality. If adventure is your thing you have to check out the famous boundary waters canoe area for a portage experience that might just change your life!
