Located between Buena Vista and Salida at the foot of the Chalk Cliffs, our vacation home is perfect for families and those who love outdoor adventures. Mt Princeton Hot Springs, white water rafting and hiking are all at your doorstep. Relax on the deck while gazing at Mt Antero and Mt Princeton, or enjoy our great room with cozy fireplace and amazing views of the Chalk Cliffs. The basement boasts a large game room well suited for fun of all ages. Decorated and stocked with everything your family will need, Cactus Flower has it all.

Outstanding Property

Beautiful, outstanding property. Excellent, private location. Very close to the hot springs. Our family of 7 stayed here and skied 3 days at Monarch. 45 minute drive to the slope.Home has a beautiful view of the mountains and everything about the stay was flawless.

Wonderful Home

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. We could not get enough of the morning sunshine glow from the Chalk Cliffs outside the main living room windows. Wow. The home is perfectly situated for this view.

Beautiful Mountain Home

This property was absolutely beautiful. The home is fully furnished so it made preparing dinner each night so easy. I would go back to this property in a minute and highly recommend it.

Even more amazing in person

This was our second stay in this beautiful home. The view from the deck is absolutely breathtaking. The owners are very responsive though we didn’t need to contact them but once because the property is perfectly created for guests. We LOVE the location, the house, the hiking, the views, the town. Just a wonderful family vacation.

Beautiful seclusion

The home was beautiful and clean, and just the right size for our 5 adults and 5 teenagers. In a quiet secluded area, close to Buena Vista and a short drive to Salida. We all loved it!

Get-a-way heaven

We stayed for a week at this wonderful place. The deck off the dining room, with a view of Mt Princeton, is the best way to start the day with coffee & finish your day with cocktails. Plenty of space for 6 adults without feeling crowded. Will stay here again. Nice owners. Couldn’t ask for a better place.

Hot springs weekend

Perfect getaway spot

We loved our trip to Buena Vista! Cactus Flower is an incredible, secluded property where you can enjoy peace and quiet, yet just a short drive to all of the activities. Hiking, fishing, hot springs, rafting, shopping and restaurants - all at your fingertips. The deck was the best part of the property - amazing views!! Jamie and Jill were great to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful family experience.

The cabin and views were absolutely amazing. The kids to St Elmo, the trout hatchery and hiking and playing. Adults enjoyed Buena Vista and Salida. Highly recommed close to everything. Thanks to our host James & Jill for sharing your home!

Never Disappointing

Great home for extended family

The home had everything needed for a great mountain getaway. Grilled stakes and cooked Colorado corn for a dinner meal and had smores by the fire pit. We had a clear moonless night and the stars were bright. Everyone set on the patio in the mornings for coffee and the view. Excellent layout for three generations to stay together,

Awesome

Came for a short stay celebrating a birthday. Kids came, May snow came (17” total over the weekend). We weren’t planning on snow, but still made the best of it. Still enjoyed sight-seeing and the BV area (disc golfing, actual golfing, indoor wall climbing, shopping, cool restaurants) We will visit again as this has quickly become a favorite place for us.

Chalk Cliff Views for Days

This property had everything you could need for a group of 6. First off, the views from the house/balcony were stunning of Mt Princeton. We spent a good amount of time outside enjoying the views. The house feels massive with the high ceilings and very comfortable furniture. I love to cook and the kitchen was spectacular. Jaime and Jill were easy to communicate over the VRBO site. Overall we couldn’t be more happy with our stay and if we’re back in the area, we would absolutely stay again.

Warm, inviting, beautiful home with spectacular views!

This home is even more inviting, warm and beautifully situated than the pictures show. Communication with the host was flawless. Directions were easy to find. The accommodations were perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and the nicest I have ever stayed in for selection of cooking ware. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. The bathroom in the master suite has a gorgeous view of the mountains. The location is close to Bueno Vista. Easy access to trails, restaurants, white water rafting on the Arkansas River. But the biggest treat is the views from the porch overlooking Mount Princeton and Chalk Cliffs. It was a perfect location and we hope to visit again soon- and would not consider staying any where else!

Spectacular Place!

This house was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well stocked. The house felt like a well lived in home with comfortable furniture, extra blankets, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The views were breathtaking and honestly the most stunning views possibly anywhere we have ever stayed. We were there with four women for a girl's getaway and the bedrooms layouts and on-suites were perfect for an adult vacation. We hope to come back with our kiddos as the bottom floor game room would be great for them. Location was amazing - very secluded but only minutes away from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. We will for sure be back! Thanks again!

AWESOME Snowboard and Relaxation in Beautiful Setting

We had a fantastic stay, and Jamie and Jill were fantastic with communication and addressing any questions we had. We loved the spectacular views from all over the house... and the secluded but accessible location was perfect for us. The ability to adjust temps with the radiant heating system in the floors let everyone stay warm and toasty with their own thermostats, and the gas fireplace made it super easy to fire up some flames on demand in the living room. Our kiddos loved the foose-ball table and the second living area downstairs. The home was well appointed on all levels... and it made for a fantastic retreat after all our long days on the slopes at Monarch (which we love and highly recommend, too). We'll for sure stay again if we are back in the area!!

Five year anniversary trip

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property and the location is perfect. Just close enough to Monarch, but just far enough away. The view is amazing. The owners of the house are very accommodating and everything is just like it is described.

Amazing home!

We loved our stay. The owners gave amazing directions to get to the home in case we lost reception and once we arrived everything was perfect for our stay. Check-in and check-out was super smooth. The kitchen is well stocked in kitchen supplies and everything you could need to spend days in this beautiful location. Lots of games and places to relax throughout the home. Close to town and the views were amazing!

Amazing!

This beautiful home is in a gorgeous location with views that go on forever. We have been made welcome there for the last four or five years and look forward to each year. The area has a multitude of hiking & riding trails for everyone. You can begin your day with coffee on the deck & end it there with cocktails. The view is breathtaking!

Jamie and I built this house in 2020 as a family get-away. Jamie, who has been building houses since 1990, has built several homes in the area. Jill is a retired school teacher. We have 4 grown children and one grandchild. We fell in love with the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery of Chaffee County.
