Very beautiful, comfortable home

Overall a good stay

All in all a good stay. Internet became an issue on our last night. Very comfy king bed.

Thank you for your review Heidi. We are glad that you had an overall great stay. When there is a lot of Internet usage, modem needs to be reset. Instructions to do this are provided on site. Had you let me know, I would have happily helped you resolve the issue.This was a very popular time in the mountains due to the leaves changing. Blessings to you and your family.

Owner cancelled on us

About 3 hours before our arrival the owner cancelled on us. We have a dog with us so we had limited places to pick from last minute.

Sometimes issues arise that are out of our control. Due to the extreme cold, the pipes underneath the house froze. The previous renters were asked to drip the faucets, but must’ve forgotten. We felt badly that we had to cancel because the basement was flooded and there was no hot water. We worked diligently to secure alternate accommodations for them, but they refused. We issued a full refund, and apologized profusely, although there was nothing that could’ve been done.

Sweet spot

This home was very welcoming for me as I spent the week with my sister who lives nearby. The owner was very accommodating and easy to reach with any questions. The view over the back rail from the sunroom was my favorite and I spent many hours sitting there for various reasons. The location is really quiet and very low occurrence of cars on the road. The main bedroom was nice and dark for a late wake-up and I slept like a log there. I never went upstairs. I felt very secure at all times here. Thank you for a lovely retreat.

Mountain home

We enjoyed our time in the mountains, especially the cooler weather. The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood with paved access road and driveway. There is room for several vehicles on the property. It is close to town and shopping areas. Also it is very close to a beautiful recreation complex which has a playground, creek, dog park and more. Lake Junaluska is also nearby and a lovely place to visit with lots of recreational options. The kitchen in the house was well equipped and the house was surface cleaned adequately but could benefit from a deep cleaning. There are some maintenance issues which should be addressed as well. Internet connections were good as was TV cable service. The host was very responsive to any inquiries and concerns.

BEWARE HOSTS- MOST DIFFICULT GUEST EVER I pride myself on making my guests comfortable. I work very hard to ensure that my guests are happy. Unfortunately Sometimes you come across a very difficult guest. Marjory cannot be pleased no matter what you do. . I should have known when she needed a last-minute rental because she was “unhappy” with her current VRBO rental. BIG MISTAKE ! HUGE. . From the moment she arrived, Marjory began her daily morning texts, and barrage of opinions about the house. This is why I don’t do long term rentals. I knew that it was going to be a long month. I immediately refunded her $150 cleaning fee. this was not enough because she continued texting me daily, as if I were her personal concierge at a 5 star hotel. So draining to deal with someone who views the world in such dark tones. And there’s more…..Request was for 2 guests, but she brought 4 extra people. I was counting the days until she left. This was a horrible experience.

Very Comfy!

We had such a nice stay! The place was perfect for our stay. It was clean and had wonderful touches like CO Bigelow or similar soap and super comfy, cuddly sheets on the bed with a heated blanket!! Will stay there again.
