Stay at our amazing little piece of country music history nestled on a quiet street in the middle of it all. 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, game room, outstanding back deck with fireplace, wet bar, hot tub, outdoor commercial heaters & a 16' disappearing glass door that opens the entire back of the house up to a back yard oasis with fire pit & bocce court. Minutes from downtown Nashville & less than a mile from Bluebird Cafe.

Welcome to Fancy Free - an Entertainer's Dream

When I first stepped foot on this property it was 1982 and I was just a little girl. My uncle was a successful songwriter and manager of The Oak Ridge Boys publishing company. He and his wife took the royalties from his #1 hit Fancy Free by The Oak Ridge Boys and bought the little 1930’s bungalow that was originally on this property and turned it into my favorite place on earth.

Fast forward to 2018 and my husband and I bought the property and built our very own dream home and it is still my favorite place on earth!

This place is filled with country music memories from all of the stars and extremely talented writers that stayed a many a night right here. Walk through the house and you will see gold and platinum albums that tell a little bit of the history.

If you are looking for an amazing Nashville experience, this is the place for you. We are located right in the middle of everything but with the beautiful wooded lot you feel far away from it all. Only one mile from the world-famous Bluebird Cafe and a couple of miles to Broadway, this is the perfect vacation spot.

We are also two doors down from a great public park with tennis courts, a covered pavilion, basketball court, small baseball diamond and walking trail.

Go a couple of blocks over and spend some time hanging out at Elmington Park where you will find the most amazing food trucks on the weekends!

About 1.5 miles and you are at Centennial Park where you can tour the world’s only replica of The Parthenon and feed the ducks.

Displaced Family

We placed a family here while they are out of their home during some repairs to their home from an insurance claim. The hosts were so wonderful to work with, they were quick to respond, and extremely helpful. Our client's enjoyed their stay and would definitely recommend the Carroll's and their beautiful property Fancy Free Nashville for your next trip to Nashville.

Quick and Easy Access to the City

The outdoor dining room is the feature to live by. Perfect for a family trip. Plenty of spaces to splinter off to and enjoy for everyone. Master bedroom suite and bathroom alone are large enough to be their own apartment. Playground is a short walk away if you have children who need to get outdoors during the day. Location is near restaurants, grocery stores, Vanderbilt, the mall, etc.

As advertised

The house is in a quaint area and the property is terrific. Huge trees and an amazing backyard. We found all house as advertised with high-end finishes and plenty of room. The owners we communicative and easy to work with. We would definitely stay there again in the future.

The Perfect Weekend Getaway

We had such a great time with friends and family during our stay in this beautiful home. The photos online just don’t do it justice. It was stunning! We didn’t want to leave. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Nashville.

this property is incredible! the indoor / outdoor living options with the glass wall opening up to the back porch was perfect for our executive team gathering. The kitchen is a dream, even the private chef we had come in was impressed. Would definitely book again.

The house and neighborhood were amazing!

Beautiful property

My friends and I stayed at this property for a bachelorette weekend. The property is beautiful and looked better in person than the pictures showed for the property. We were amazed at how open, clean, and the attention to detail of the property. We really loved how nice it was and had the best time! Thank you for letting us stay!

Friends Were Very Happy!

I rented this house for out-of-town friends for a few days, and they were very happy. The hosts were so wonderful and communicative. The house was awesome, my friends loved the hot tub.

Great place very quite and lots of amenities

The owners were great and had great communication throughout. The house is beautiful and has a great story about it. So many things the house offers that you would only find in a select few. Would definitely recommend and stay there again. Thanks for the great stay

Beautiful, amazing and Gorgeous

The house was even more beautiful, inviting and comfortable than the pictures show. Hosts were responsive and gracious. Back yard and screened in porch, such wonderful places to hang out. Plenty of space to have alone time if needed. Read books, play in the yard etc.

What a great house

We had a great long weekend. A perfect spot for a family stay. Location is great, close enough to everything but in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommended

Great House in Great Location

This house has an amazing kitchen and porch and family room. It was super comfortable with great holiday touches. We loved hanging in the kitchen and around the fireplace on the porch. Plenty of seating inside and out. Kids had a blast with all of the games and karaoke. Rooms were very comfortable. Host was VERY helpful throughout the trip with recommendations etc. would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. Great neighborhood with park down the street and close to everything!

Excellent place to stay!!

Several college friends got together to hang out and listen to some country music. The house was AMAZING. The kitchen is amazing, and the outdoor space is spectacular. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor fire place and outdoor seating area. We also loved the ice machine and the fancy coffee maker. Beds were very comfortable! It isn’t so clear in the listing but there is a room with a bunk and a trundle so we had plenty of beds for everyone. Communication with the host was great - she was so responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. She even left us a very sweet welcome gift! Thanks for the great stay.

Perfect home in perfect location

We traveled to Nashville to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our best friends anniversary. This home could not have accommodated the 10 of us any better. Heather was an amazing host and made sure that all of our needs and requests were met. When we travel back to Nashville we will for sure be staying at Fancy Free.

Nashville Get Away

The house is beautiful. Great location. About a ten minute ride to downtown Nashville. The interior is beautifully decorated. High end amenities. The back porch feels like an extension of the home. Would stay there again.

"Vintage Nashville" Bedroom
This bedroom comes with an extremely comfy queen size bed, a desk, Roku tv, it's own coffee station and a vintage 1964 RCA Victor vinyl record console player. Spin your favorite vinyl and enjoy the crackling sound that only a vintage record player can provide! We have even included a couple of records that include songs written on this very little piece of land!

This bedroom shares a full bath with Hillbilly Highway.

“Hillbilly Highway” Bedroom

The Steve Earl hit Hillbilly Highway was co-written by my uncle, the original owner of this property, and was an homage to his road from Newton, MS to Nashville when he was only 14 years old.

They began writing the song at William Lee Golden's beach house on ONO Island on the trip that secured Steve Earl's record deal with Tony Brown and MCA Records. After coming back to Nashville they finished writing Hillbilly Highway right here on the back porch and it became part of the award-winning Guitar Town album.

At the 1986 ASCAP Country Music Awards, Steve Earle was the new hot artist with a Grammy Nomination for Guitar Town. Following the awards, he spent the night right here in this very spot :)

This bedroom has a comfy queen size bed, tv, writing desk (in case inspiration strikes) and a Wii game console. This bedroom shares a full bathroom with Vintage Nashville.

“Reba’s Room” Upstairs Master
This bedroom has a full size bed, Roku tv, large walk-in closet and its own full bathroom.

Named for the Reba McEntire hit Red Roses that was written from this very place. Red Roses was on the Have I Got A Deal For You album that went Gold. I remember listening to the demo tape from the living room couch and thinking how clever those lyrics were. It was co-written with David Lee Murphy about 10 years before Party Crowd which they also co-wrote.
