This is a truly special place, and I am so grateful to Ted and Anna for being such wonderful hosts. They have poured tremendous love and care into creating this gorgeous getaway. If you need time and space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself, this is a journey worth taking.

Our second stay at The Sea Sanctuary was more wonderful than the first. The new upgrades are perfect. We had stunning sunsets every night of our stay and the location is ideal for the area. The host/owner (Ted) was amazing, friendly, and accommodating. All of our family was very comfortable and we look forward to a future visit.

What a wonderful place to call home for a week. This thoughtfully designed home has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. We took an afternoon off from exploring the nearby state parks just to enjoy the many amenities of the home: cozy reading spots, private office space, fabulous hot tub, decks, and garden.

Amazing location, could not imagine better. Ocean view and 45 second walk to be on sand. House is very nice. Host extremely responsive. Could not be happier. Beach is not a "southern CA" light sand... it has scattered washed up timber, but we loved it. Clean house, extremely well labeled instructions. Made us want to stay longer.

This property accommodated our 10 people easily. Everything is very well labeled and instructions are clear. The kitchen is very well stocked with what you need to cook - with high quality appliances, pot, pans and other things needed. Temp was consistent with radiant floor heating. My favorite part was the view and the location. The bike trail out front goes all the way into Fort Bragg, along the coast. Plenty of walking and biking opportunities. Two of my boys even surfed right out front so we could watch them from the living room and hot tub. It was an epic weekend stay and we made memories that will last a lifetime.

Stunning property

The Sea Sanctuary exceeded our expectations, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a summer holiday with our family. Stunning views, a gorgeous property with thoughtful touches that made it easy for us to feel at home during our stay. We highly recommend this property and would happily stay here again.

The house was amazing! The decorations were beautiful, the layout of the house was perfect, and everything we needed was provided. Ted and Anna were attentive hosts. It was such a great trip! My husband is crying as we drive away. Lol

Magnificent home so calm and peaceful!!! We all enjoyed going to the beach and collecting shell. The kitchen is fantastic with everything you need to cook a dinner. Bed where very comfortable and we all slept great.

Recharging with Vitamin Sea

Location,Location, Location! Whether you wanted to stay indoors or go to the beach you were there. Many walks were done and lots of whale watching. Sunsets were primo! Thank you for sharing your home.

Indescribably amazing!!!!

I cannot rave about this property and the owner enough! It was better than pictured and truly a sanctuary. The owner was quick and proactive with their communication. The home is well supplied and thoughtfully designed. We did need to do some minor cleaning - there was sand on the furniture and some cobwebs and spiders, but given that it's a beach house, this wasn't unexpected. It's clear that the owner tries to keep the house clean. Without hesitation I can say that my family and I would definitely stay here again.

Absolute Serenity

I took my parents and daughters to the Sea Sanctuary for respite and exploring and we were blown away. The house was incredibly thoughtful...everything served a purpose. The views were remarkable, both front and back, and everything, every morsel of the home was thoughtfully placed. It felt enveloping and warm, and the communication with oir host was just perfect. Also.... the kitchen.... just my favorite place ever. We can't wait to come back next summer.

Good location and great beach

The beach was great. The house was ok. There were two befrooms in addition to the master and a sleeping futon in a separate room. The house had sand everywhere but after quite a lot of hoovering it was reasonably clean. Kitchen and master br are upstairs which made for a great view but a bit of a climb with groceries. The kitchen was well equipped. Fort bragg had two shops, Safeway and an another one, I have forgotten the name but it was a really good one, definitely to recommend. Otherwise a nice little town.

I am disappointed to read this review and my caretaker was horrified. She's has been working for me for 2 years and is truly a preofessional. When she cleans, she finishes by vaccuuming the entire home, carpets and wood floors and sweeps the stairs. The Sea Sanctuary hasa very strong track record of 5-star reviews and I work very hard to keep it that way. I ask guests to refrain from wearing shoes in the home and to rinse theiir feet outside when returning from the beach specifically to avoid sand being tracked into the home. Not sure what happened here, but i assure future guests that it is far from the norm and nowhere near the expectations I have for how the home is presented to guests.

Stunning ocean views

My family recently stayed at this home and the views are simply breathtaking. We loved walking the beach and seeing the birds and seals. The home had plenty of space to spread out and the kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook a meal. The owner was very responsive throughout the booking process. The location was convenient, quiet and only a few minutes drive away from downtown Ft. Bragg. Our only feedback would be that this home needs a thorough cleaning. It was surface clean but there were a ton of cobwebs and the light fixtures were very dusty. Kids handprints on the fireplace and windows. Given the price, this should not be the case.

Thanks for your feedback. I had been in the process of replacing my cleaning crew (now have two excellent cleaners) and had been trying to catch up with deep cleaning. On that particular day during that transition, the cleaning was actually left to me. I try to pride myself keeping a tidy home but I must have personally missed some spots. I always tell the same thing to my cleaning crew that my guests are paying a fair price for their stay and i want to make sure they have a perfectly clean home for a 5 star stay. Thanks again for your feedback.

The Sea Sanctuary was a wonderful house! It was equipped with everything you need. The host left very helpful notes around the house which really helped to understand where things were and how things worked. It was very clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a great place to unwind in the evening and watch the sunset- it was very clean and high quality. The beach is across a neighborhood street ( very few cars) and there is a walkway along the beach. The beach was great! It is a beautiful area and you can walk a little ways down the beach to see the seals sun bathing on a the rocks. The location was really good. It was secluded but not too far from restaurants and grocery. There is a small grocery very close called Cleone’s. They were very nice and had many things you might have forgotten or just if you need a potatoe or cereal for the morning! I highly recommend this property.

Serene home. Loved the attention paid to design features. All appliances top quality. Kitchen equipped with anything a cook could want, and it was wonderful to find an impressive array of spices. Great vegan and vegetarian cookbooks, too. A soak in the new hot tub looking out at the ocean was a restorative experience.

Beach vacation

It is a perfect home for time of peace and quite. Very tranquil. Great view of the shoreline and great for taking walks on the beach. I would recommend it for getting away from the hustle and bustle.

Excellent house and location

Beautiful home with lots of natural lighting. House is right across the street (not busy at all with few houses on the block) from the beach and a walking/biking trail that goes all the way to the southern end of Fort Bragg. Good forest hiking and paddle boarding nearby. Big River was a great place to paddleboard; you can go several miles upstream from the ocean. Saw river otters there. The upstairs at the house has a window nook, a day bed and a loft which all offer great views of the ocean across the street. Great spot to view sunsets over the ocean, especially from the hot tub. Also liked the fresh lettuce growing in planter boxes in the upstairs decks. Overall, highly recommend.

We loved all the special details Ted supplied. Ted explained in written detail everything about the house. The view was absolutely breath taking. The accessibility to the beach was for any age. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Beautiful Sea Sanctuary

Our host, Ted was a GREAT guest communicator. He responded to my emails within the hour and with very positive responses. Now for the Sea Sanctuary...it was all that I was hoping for. We walked into the downstairs (what could have been a small apartment with the exception of no kitchen) living space equipped with two private separate bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a large living/family room equipped with an embedded TV. The second level entry leads to a 3-tiered staircase (3-stairs on each tier) which leads you to the full living space. As we approached the 2nd. level of the home, there was a wood-burning fireplace that was viewable in 3-separate directions. 1-facing the hallway/staircase, 2-facing the (what I would call) a reading room, and 3-facing the dining room/kitchen/ the home went on and on from there...including a TV/den, a 1/2 bath, and en suite with a full ocean view and for that matter, almost the entire 2nd. the level had a full ocean view. The kitchen was, in my opinion, a chef's choice (and I am an avid cook & baker). We enjoyed our Thanksgiving Dinner & Dessert prepared in this kitchen along with leftovers throughout the (5) days we spent there. Moving along to the location in Cleone, (the city in which the home/beach are located in (2-miles outside the city limits of Fort Bragg). The beaches were amazing. Each night we were able to catch the high tide (we checked the times online) at dusk so the waves were huge and loud and just what I had hoped for. I can't say enough great things about this home and its location. If you think Fort Bragg doesn't offer a great setting...think again. I must also mention the Noyo Harbor Tavern located directly on the Noyo River. It was fabulous both the food and it's the ambiance. We ate Dinner and Lunch there the next day it was that good. Also, the downtown shopping is lovely. Lots of galleries with one-of-a-kind pieces, most of them created by local artisans. And, the drives along the coast were breathtaking. Just a wonderful home to stay in with a lot to do, great dining-out options. I am a "suites at the Ritz or Four Seasons" lady. I realize that there is no Concierge/on-hand customer service however, I would rate the overall time we spent there a 9.5 out of 10 for its overall beauty, home & fun things to do/great dining-out too. Peaceful, joyful girls trip.

Rented sea sanctuary for a girls trip. After this crazy year, 7 of my (fully vaccinated) girlfriends and I needed a get away. The name really does say it all. The house is beautiful. Big enough for everyone to have their own space but come together when we wanted to. The spacious fully stocked kitchen meant we could have great dinners together around the big kitchen table. The spa and the sunsets were gorgeous. The location was great for our daily activities. We hired a driver to take us wine tasting in the Anderson Valley (highly recommended that too). We road the skunk train and rail bikes. We hiked, we shopped… there is also a great sound system that meant we danced & laughed a whole lot. I will probably rent this place again in the future. It was a great get away. Everything was easy and enjoyable. Ted the host was easily accessible & very helpful. I highly recommend Sea Sanctuary.
