I don't think there is enough room to really explain our experience and a lot of mixed feelings on the overall stay. First off be sure to look over the rental agreement, I booked a year in advance and did not brush up on the agreement (my fault). Although I did abide by the maximum "overnight" guests, I did not alert property management of anyone else coming over. I have family that lives in Fort Bragg and other family that stayed at a hotel and had no clue that getting together for dinner at the home has to be relayed to the property management. If you do have anyone over it is more money per person per day added on.
The home could not be in a better place in terms of access to the beach. The home is outdated, not the cleanest, stove is temperamental but had everything we needed. I could have overlooked these things easily because the view when you woke up and the location were incredible. What I could not overlook was the neighbor directly behind the home. Now this couple is not happy that this home is a VRBO, and they let you know it. The minute we stepped out of the car we were getting glared at and watched. We are a blended family and I am not going to assume they did not like that, but they did not want us there. Every time we stepped outside they were there watching us and giving us dirty looks. We made sure we did not play music and did not spend too much time outside near there home but it did not matter. They reported us to property management for too many people and an RV that my brother and his friend drove down in (whole other story), and honestly I feel sorry for the property management because these people must be an ongoing nightmare. Once the neighbors complained they were laughing and waving at us, but we tried to make the most of our remaining two nights. This was our third annual family vacation and my father has recently taken a turn with his dementia. He wants to do this every year until his passing, and I was very disappointed our vacation was ruined by this horrible couple. We plan to go back next year, but unfortunately not to this home.
