The home is a brand new build from the ground up; purchased, designed and built as a vacation rental. It is a craftsman home nestled in a quiet, old-styled neighborhood just above Downtown and Balboa Park. The neighborhood of Mission Hills is centrally located and has a nice variety of its own unique restaurants and shops that are a pleasant walk away. Bustling Hillcrest, the Gaslamp District, and Little Italy are just minutes away by car. The World Famous Zoo and Sea World are just a few minutes away. Or stay home and enjoy a quiet restful time, with a newly built house that includes a large deck in the back with a view of the lovely wooded canyon and view to San Diego Bay. There is a large barbecue and outdoor dining/seating area, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. You can prepare meals and enjoy a beautiful view of the canyon and bay. This house has three en suite bedrooms with high quality mattresses and linens. The bathrooms are spacious and have beautiful tiles and stone. There are two TVs and Wi-Fi service. Susan and her family live nearby and are ready to help if you need something. Between the home itself, the neighborhood and great location, you will not be disappointed.

loved our stay

Perfection

Such a lovely home with a fabulous view! Private, quiet and exquisitely decorated. Very comfortable beds too! Kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking items we needed! It feels like a home not a rental at all. Just loved it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great house - Great Location

House was very comfortable, well appointed, and in a great, quiet neighborhood. House was perfectly located for all of our activities. Communication with the owner was excellent. Will definitely stay here again when I visit San Diego.

Fabulous location and home!

Susan's home is in the perfect location. We were able to visit the San Diego Zoo, take in a Padres game and walk into town and visit some shops. Sitting out on the deck was very relaxing and watched the birds fly in and around. We also had one night where we cooked out for dinner - so having the grill was fantastic. Her home is gorgeous and was a much better atmosphere to have a family vacation.

Minutes away from the airport, mission beach, sea world, Belmont park and pretty much everywhere. Super clean and good space for our whole family.

A Lovely Home Close to Everything

Wonderful and relaxing home. Close to the convention center downtown, Balboa Park, and Old Town. Lots of restaurants near by. Enjoyed birdwatching off the deck. Kitchen was well stocked. Overall, it was a really nice stay while attending a conference.

Beautiful and Perfectly Located VRBO

My family and I absolutely loved this very beautiful VRBO home. The home has three generously sized bedrooms - each with its own bathroom which is a real plus. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beautiful deck and firepit was a delight for morning coffees and evening relaxation. We had everything we needed in the home and the owner was super responsive. It is also just minutes away from the downtown area and a quick drive to La Jolla and other areas. Great restaurants are nearby. We highly recommend this lovely home!

Urban Canyon Retreat

This is a beautiful home with lovely gardens front and back. Enjoyed hummingbirds and an amazing canyon view from the deck. Even got to see the fireworks on the Fourth. The house is bright and airy and has everything four adults needed for relaxing in a sophisticated yet comfortable space.

Fantastic place, location, and host

We loved this place! We stayed in the owners property next door and loved the location. This is so roomy with plenty of privacy and bathrooms. The outdoor space is wonderful and we got lemons off the tree for our tea. Top notch in cleanliness. Wonderful place and host

Absolutely the BEST VRBO property

We spent 5 nights in this amazing property and it wasn’t nearly enough - everything about it is perfect for a San Diego getaway! The location is amazing - a quiet, beautiful neighborhood which made for great sleeping at night and fun (and safe!) walks every morning. The house is well stocked and absolutely beautifully decorated. Susan even left fresh flowers and fresh lemons - both picked from her beautiful garden - for us to enjoy! We had 3 adult couples so the 3 bedrooms with their own bathrooms was a huge plus. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were huge! We spent every morning and every evening sitting out on the beautiful back deck, enjoying the firepit and taking in the beauty of Susans backyard and surrounding canyon area. Susan was so accommodating and communicative - she made us feel like family. If we are fortunate enough to visit San Diego again, we would definitely return to this property. It was the highlight of our trip and provided an unforgettable experience for our family!

Great Home In Mission Hills

This is a beautiful home in the Mission Hills area of San Diego. It is an amazing new home built with craftsmen style. The home was very clean and well equipped. The deck offers a great view. My family of 5 had plenty of room with the 3 bedrooms. We also loved the kitchen complete with Viking Stove with all the pots, pans, other things you need to make a family meal. We would love to stay there again if our travels take us back to San Diego.

Picture Perfect Craftsman Overlooking Canyon

Wonderful Stay

Impeccable house. As described in the listing. Actually better than the listing. Susan (the Host) is being modest. Beautifully appointed house. Three full bedrooms, each with own attached bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen, open floor plan into dining and living rooms. Living room and master bedroom have full glass doors accessing the deck. Off street driveway parking. Central cooling. House is central to all. Ten minutes to downtown San Diego. And lest we forget, a super responsive host! The best. You will not be disappointed in your stay.

Everything you could want

This home is lovely inside and out. Its done in a craftsman style with beautiful finishes and we loved every minute we were there. The finishes are high end, it is well stocked, spacious, and the whole house is meticulously clean. Every bedroom (comfortable beds!) has it's own bathroom. The host is wonderful, has fantastic communication, and obviously has put a lot of effort and love into this property. The road is a little busy with cars, walkers and bicycles, but inside is so peaceful and quiet, and the deck off the back is huge and you would never know you were in a large city. This has been one of our top VRBO stays! Thanks Susan!

Perfect San Diego House

We stayed here 6/8-6-12. It was the perfect location to the attractions we went to, SeaWorld, Zoo, Belmont Park. It was also only a half hour to Legoland. It was also only minutes to the airport and downtown. The house itself is great, nice floor plan, great kitchen, bathrooms, and has everything you need. Thank you Susan, we won’t hesitate to recommend and/or stay at your place again when we return to San Diego.

Fort 2 is well located, managed personally by Susan, and as comfortable as you will ever find in a home away from home. A romantic place for two, or a comfortable home for family vacations. The bedrooms are set apart with ensuite bathrooms...lots of space, and you don't have to share a bathroom.
