Owl’s Perch-lakefront, paddle boards, pool table

Owl's Perch is nestled beside the neighboring cabin and overlooks gorgeous Eagle Lake. The cabin has that wonderful rustic Mentone feel while offering all the creature comforts of home. A brand new fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an outdoor charcoal grill will have you prepping meals for the fam to enjoy either at the indoor dining table or at the lakeside picnic table. A cozy living room with flat screen tv, WIFI, cable TV leads you out onto the screened porch overlooking Eagle Lake. There are two bedrooms downstairs: one private with a queen bed and TV; the other with twin bed and another twin sized custom-built top bunk. A full-sized bath with clawfoot tub and shower is also on the main level in addition to a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. On your way upstairs, stop off in the game room with full size pool table, games, puzzles, toys for the kids and a reading nook as well as another full-size bath. Upstairs loft bedroom offers lots of space with a queen bed + full bed, a custom dollhouse and a cozy seating area. There's plenty of space to play outdoors in the large lakefront yard. Relax while fishing on the shared dock (bring your own gear). Take a cruise around Eagle Lake on the paddleboards provided with this cabin. Please bring your own lifejackets and beach towels. Enjoy smores around the private fire pit tucked behind the cabin near the woods. We have lots of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the screened-in porch overlooking the lake or relaxing on the spacious deck by the antique fountain. This cabin is adjacent to it's sister cabin, Eagle's Rest. These cabins are completely separate with separate entrances and screened porches but they are joined by a deck, so you will likely see the other family staying in the adjacent cabin.

Need more space? Our sister cabin Eagle's Rest accommodates up to 8 more guests and is located adjacent to Owl's Perch. If you would like to book them together check out VRBO # 2289629 These cabins can be rented together at a discount. Please note that these cabins share a common dock and large yard overlooking the lake but each cabin has private outdoor space for you to enjoy!

Located approximately 5-10 minutes from downtown Mentone, 10 minutes to Desoto State Park, 30 minutes to Cloudland State Park.

It definitely has the “cabin in the woods” atmosphere, which is what we were wanting for our grandparent camp with the teenagers. The pier with paddle boards and the game room were enjoyed by the family. It is part of a duplex and no one was in the other side so it was quiet. It would be a great place to rent both sides for a larger gathering. The grounds were beautiful with the patio, fountain, and fire pit.

Relaxing getaway

Beautiful property, quiet area getting to soak in nature. We arrived after work and was relaxed right as soon as we walked into the door. Will definitely be staying again.

Wonderful place to stay. Clean and neat.

We really enjoyed our stay there, lots to do. Pool table was a hit and the fire pit was wonderful to sit around and have a drink. Took the pedal boat out around the pond and really enjoyed herself as well. Thank you for a great stay.

Great family getaway at Owl's Perch in Mentone

Wonderful cabin and idyllic setting. Very nice indoor and outdoor living areas. We enjoyed the small lake out back. Good bluegill fishing right off the dock for the kids. Easy access to Mentone and Desoto SP. Overall, perfect for a long weekend with the family. Highly recommended.

Can't wait to come back!

We visit Mentone for the first time and we absolutely loved our stay at the Owl's Perch! The house was so cozy during the chilly weather and the fire pit was a hit! We are already planning our trip to return to Mentone and we will definitely be staying with Delightful Retreats again. The property owner was very helpful whenever we need assistance and quick in responses. The house was suited for everything we needed. Our favorite plus about the property was an adorable Muscovy duck named 'Doug' that befriended us as soon as we arrived. He just waddles around the neighborhood and in the pond. He was definitely such a sweetheart. We can't wait to return to Mentone and to the Owl's Perch!

Great Getaway

My husband and two of our kids (both 14) stayed at Owl’s Perch with another couple and their teenage son. The layout was good for our group and the house had almost everything we needed. We all enjoyed the stand up paddle boards and the lake. There is a huge fire pit off to the side of the property, plus a short hiking trail. The house is located in a private community, just a few minutes away from Mentone and DeSoto Falls. Owl’s Perch was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. There are some things I wish had been more clear, however. 1. We knew we would have a shared pier with another property, but really didn’t know just how close the two properties are. They are actually accessible from the same deck. There’s a shared driveway and in order to get to Owl’s Perch, you walk beside and then behind the other property. The people who were staying in the other unit were super friendly, thankfully, but if we’d had an issue with them, the situation wouldn’t have been pleasant. Privacy outside of the units is not something to be expected. For instance, I was grilling hot dogs and chatting with the neighbors as they enjoyed their fire pit. However, it would be perfect for a large family or group of friends willing to rent both units. 2. In order to get from the kitchen/living room to the laundry room or game room, you have to pass through the bedroom with the bunk beds. 3. The bedroom with two queen beds is above the game room and there’s no door. It’s not completely a loft style room, but it is open to all of the sounds from the pool table. Just something to note for sleeping arrangements. Night owls should definitely be put in that room. I would definitely recommend this rental to friends. The rental company was very responsive and helpful.

This place is the perfect summer getaway! It is almost like you see in the movies. The host was amazing! Fishing was great just an all around great experience. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful getaway

My family and I spent the weekend in the Owl's Perch and our stay was beautiful. We try to select a spot which allows us a tranquil rest while not being too far from any family activities. The Owls Perch offered us the traquility we needed and the scenery was beautiful. We were even greeted by a very friendly duck who would follow us around like a little puppy. The Owls Perch is also connected to another cabin, The Eagles Rest. Both are beautiful, inside and out, and we would highly recommend either of these, or one of the other cabins offetred by Delightful Retreats LLC.

Wonderful Cabin by the Lake

Owls Perch is a beautiful cabin in an amazing location by a lake. Our family stayed here for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lake was picturesque and peaceful. Each morning began with coffee on the deck enjoying the peace and quiet. During the day we did the zipline at Desoto State Park, hiked to Desoto Falls and visited Littler River Canyon Falls. At night we sat by the fire ring and roasted marshmallows. We also liked playing billiards and card games.The kitchen was modern and had everything you could need. One night it rained heavily and it was so nice to sit out on the screened porch and listen to the rain. We did not have cell service at the cabin but the Wifi worked fine and you can turn on Wifi calling on your phone. Holly was great and got back to me quickly and answered my questions. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!

The whole experience was awesome!!!! We had a problem with the air and Holley was quick to get it fixed!!!! Will stay again!!!!
