Gorgeous and high end 4 bedroom plus bonus (sleeping) loft, located in prime gated community, sleeps 12. Very large landscaped yard, fantastic ocean view, central A/C, plunge pool, top appliances (sub zero) granite kitchen beautiful bedrooms, fabulous artwork and only a few steps to Magic Sands Beach, town, restaurants and shopping. Family amenities - tons of beach toys like beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards, boce ball, volleyball, ping pong table and BBQ for family time. Watch whales from the lanai in the spring, each bedroom with en suite bathroom, decorative (not playable) baby grand piano, and gourmet kitchen.

Perfect Family Trip!

We had a perfect getaway staying here. 6 nights, 12 people, grandparents, friends and our kids gathered for a birthday getaway!Our host Anne was wonderful and got us oriented. The house is amazing and private, with our own little walkway to the ocean for sunset drinks. We had easy walk to Magic Sands Beach, and nice drives to beaches and snorkeling spots. It was a two hour drive to see the volcano erupting, and 1.25 hours to the top of Mauna Kea for stargazing. House was fully accommodating with extra bathrooms and all the supplies you’d need. Would totally do this trip again!

Perfect Accomodations

Absolutely loved the home. The home and the view were amazing! The host was outstanding, not only providing everything we needed at the house but provided a lot of local knowledge and information for a very enjoyable vacation.

Beautiful Property

Loved the house in general; very comfortable, especially the abilitiy to open the house with the glass doors. Great view from second floor balcony. Very happy with chairs and beach items available for use. Showers were difficult to figure out - master handheld doesn't work. The pool was ok.

Beautiful home in great location

Great home in gated community with pool and very short walk to beaches. Great sunsets every evening. Perfect for large families or multiple couples traveling together

Great house!

Our time in Hawaii was great! The house was as expected, plenty of space, comfortable beds and great location. Our only issue was the A/C wasn’t working properly in some of the rooms but the property manager was easy to get in touch with and she was able to bring us a few more fans and it solved the problem.

Could not have been better.

We had a wonderful 10 days at the house. It is better than pictured. We found it to be a perfect location and loved our time there. The house is amazingly furnished with anything you could want including a treasure trove of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas…. Truly made for a great stay. Thank you again.

Gorgeous house

Our 2 daughters, their husbands, and their children, ages 2, 4, 5, and 6 stayed at the house for 1 week. It is a beautiful, very large, very nicely furnished house with everything our family needed. Everyone loved the roominess. The kids loved the pool. The surface around the pool is very slippery when wet! Luckily there were lots of beach towels, so they used some on the patio to keep the kids from slipping. The hot tub does not heat up but the kids loved it anyway. It's a lovely quiet neighborhood with a path to the ocean, not a sandy beach, but tide pools to explore among the lava rock. The check in was super easy. Anne Hubbard met us at the house and gave us a great tour and answered all our questions. There was a wonderful welcome basket full of treats, fruit, snacks, and coffee. There were plenty of sand toys, beach chairs, umbrella etc. for their use. The location was great, not far from beaches, stores, restaurants etc. It was a perfect place to stay!!

Nice Villa to relax...

It is a very nice and quiet place with a wonderful view of the sea. The house is spacious and very well equipped, everything is in good condition. We spent 15 days that we enjoyed a lot... The nearby beaches are very beautiful, especially the one that we enjoyed the most with my children was "Magic Sands". The variety of nearby restaurants and supermarkets is very good. Thank you Anne for everything... We really liked the welcome gift.

Family Fun

This was a fabulous trip with many memories made! This house was great for the 11 of us (ages 73 to 8). The property manager was easy to get a hold of and responded quickly to the few things that needed looked at. The location was great, easy to enter and exit and plenty of room outdoors for the kids to romp and explore. The pool was refreshing but note that the jacuzzi was not functioning. There were plenty of beach towels and masks, snorkels, beach chairs and sand toys. I would return if back in Kona!

All was as advertised and expected.

We were appreciative that everything met our expectations and was per the listing. House grounds were impeccable, house and all accoutrements were as advertised. Many different places in the house to sit and relax. Our group went from pool to upstairs balcony to living room as the day went by and we gathered to chat. Plenty of separate spaces in the house for adult groups. We were not on top of each other. All the "toys" were definitely helpful, from sand shoes to chairs to snorkel gear. Nice place!!

Beautiful home & wonderful host

This home is amazing! It was well stocked and so much space for all 8 of us! It is centrally located with easy access to town and many wonderful shops. The beach is a short walk to go and view all the tide pools and watch sunset. The ability to open the sliding doors for morning coffee or to watch the sunset was such an added bonus! We didn't expect the view to be that amazing! The property manager responded quickly when a few things in the home didn't work quite right and was a huge help when we all became stranded there for a bit longer than planned. Thank you so very much to the host for working with us and our crazy situation of our flights being cancelled. Your home is wonderful and we enjoyed staying here very much!! You have a true gem!

Paradise Found!

This is a beautiful, spacious, well appointed house in paradise! We loved staying there. The pictures are hard-put to do it justice. The locale was excellent and we loved being able to walk to a beach! Ann was a gracious host and appeared to try her best . We did have an issue with the “warm hot tub”. Unfortunately it wasn’t even warm until the last 2 days of our 12 day stay. And there a leak in the air conditioning which leaked into the upstairs laundry room and from there, even with towels on the floor and constantly changing them, leaked into the downstairs dining room. A plumber was called , again at the end of our stay. We know what damage water can do! Again, things were fixed by the end of our stay but it would have been great to have them fixed earlier, since we were there for 12 days! To sum up, we loved the property, the spaciousness and the locale. You have a gem there!! Aloha!!

Amazing time in Kona.

First of all: The house is lovely. The location is great. It's private and well kept and has a great view of the ocean. Secondly: Great communication. Mark is easy to get in touch with by Vrbo app or text. Anne (local connection) is easy to get in touch by phone or text. Half my family had an issue getting home (plane mechanical issue) and Mark and Anne were great helping out with a solution. House: even nicer than the photos. Great landscaping with lots of birds and geckos (outside). So many beach chairs and umbrellas really helped for beach days. And the coolers too. Gated entry is nice to have. Location: So easy to get anywhere. 10 minute walk to Magic Sands Bar. 3 mile drive to downtown Kona. Just a great location. 2 Steps is less that 30 minutes drive south and HIGHLY suggested. Sadly Magic Sands was without sand at this time, but that just motivated us to hit some other beaches: Kua Bay is 30 minutes north and great. Hapunna Beach is nice. With a rental car all parts of the Island are just a day trip even on the Big Island. Thanks Mark and Anne

Wonderful stay in Kona area

We had a WONDERFUL time at the Shining Sea property on the Big Island. The home is beautiful inside and out with a great oceanview from the living room/front yard. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. The home is also located close to the town of Kailua-Kona and about 25 minutes from the airport so it was very conveniently located. We stayed in the home with two other families and our group had adults and children ranging from ages 6 to 12. The home was spacious and clean, with large California king beds in three of the rooms and two queens in another room. With Hawaii being an adventurous island full of hiking and beach activities, we appreciated having access to two sets of washers and dryers. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for large group and the owners were also very thoughtful to provide beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and sand toys for the kids that we enjoyed using at beautiful beaches on the island. The owners were also responsive and gracious in our communications with them. Lastly, we enjoyed the ping pong table and pool, and our kids looked forward to coming home every day to swim. They actually said the pool was their favorite part of the vacation.:) We made many priceless memories during this vacation, and we look forward to coming back to the Big Island and staying at this home again!
