Beautiful view to relax

We were a group of women in their 40’s looking for a relaxing weekend. We had plenty of space, enjoyed the pool and rented a boat to use while here. It was a gorgeous view to wake up to each morning and had a blast at the house. Thanks for great memories!

Perfect place for a group trip

Our group of 3 families had an awesome time on our long weekend. Most of us never even left the house- we had everything we needed between the house, pool, and lake. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their space. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone with multiple families.

Great home on Lake Norman

We had the most wonderful relaxing week on the lake. Youngsters headed out on lake to tube, wakeboard and swim. They loved it. Basement area is a great hang out for kids, games, and time together away from parents.

Spring Get Away

First time at Lake Norman. Great house and great location on Lake Norman not to mention the pool and hot tub. Property owners were very responsive and easy to work with. They even checked in on us mid week to make sure we had everything we needed. All around great experience. Will definitely be back again.

Great Family Vacation

We rented the home for just our family and everything was as described. The property managers were always very communicative with any questions we may have had. There was a problem with the washer that predated our visit but the manager took care of it without us having to be involved. It was a great vacation for my family and my kids loved the lake!

Beautiful Lake view

The house was the perfect set-up for our stay with friends. The boat dock accommodated two boats with deep water as well. The pool and hot tub only had propane for heating purposes, so we were unable to use either one in the event of draining all the propane.

Family Vacation

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at Firefly Cove. Location is superb and the views do not disappoint. Pool area was great to hang out while kids were in the house. Only disappointment was the fact that cleanliness and basic maintenance seem to get overlooked with this rental property. All issues reported to management company were addressed somewhat quickly; however, most should not have had to be reported if the home was actively upkept vs. treated as a pure-play rental.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your good review! We're so happy to hear that your family enjoyed your time at our home. We never want our guests to experience issues at our homes, so anytime something is reported to us we make sure to take care of it as soon as possible; however, we can only fix what we are made aware of. This home has had a very busy summer, so unfortunately we do sometimes have to rely on our guests to let us know if anything comes up as we may not be able to catch everything on same day turnovers. We hope to host you and your family again soon!

Overall a good property.

Few issues with appliances and air conditioning. Interestingly the master has a fireplace that it shares with the living room and it’s literally an open space and not very quiet when others are in the kitchen or living room. The lake is beautiful as usual but it should be a little clearer how steep the walk is from the lake to the home. Loved having the pool and hot tub. Overall a good experience.

We truly enjoyed our stay here. 9 family members. The house was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The grounds well maintained. Lovely views. Plenty of bedroom linens, towels and drawer/closet space. We kept our lunch supplies in the downstairs kitchen which was handy for all. There's a lot of poolside furniture. The temperature was perfect. 5 day boat rental was easy,There were cons: By the end of the week, the pool/hot tub had a significant amount of algae. They said they'd take care of it when we left. Reasonable not to shock it while we were there, but it reduced pool/hot tub access by 2 days. The pool lining is super sharp. Lots of toes, fingers and elbows were scraped. Bring pool shoes, No toiletries provided. If you like to cook on vacation (we do) bring sharp cooking knives and leftover containers. Pantry space/refrigerator is small. I wouldn't buy more than 3 days of fresh food at a time if you have a large group. One significant issue--there is no flat access to the water level. This should DEFINITELY be addressed and pictured on the Southern Charm property description. Manageable access to top dock. Then there is a 20 degree slanted plank to be traversed to get to the narrow 17 stairs and down to the water. Our daughter is partially handicapped. Getting her to the boat and back was treacherous so we had only 1 full-family boat ride. Most people would love it here. We won't be back due to the unstated and significant mobility challenges.

We’re sorry for the issues you experienced with the pool/hot tub and, especially, the difficult water access. Our team is aware of these concerns and will be addressing them.
