Welcome to a "Little Piece of Paradise"! This home is situated within walking distance of Kerr Lake. You will have access to your own private pickleball court and equipment, private dock, 2 kayaks, outdoor fire pit, spacious deck and outdoor entertaining area including a gas grill, gas smoker, and an ice maker. This is a great family space, we have lots of games for the rainy days. Bring your boat! You can use our private dock or public boat landing within 5 miles.

Beautiful home near the lake. Outdoor space has tons of room for entertaining and a pickle ball court which was lots of fun. Spacious home with lots of activities and a golf cart to get to and from the amazing lake. Everyone had a great time and definitely will book again!

Perfect holiday weekend

This is a great spot! The house and surrounding area had everything we needed for a 4th of July weekend. Clayton was communicative and helpful, and even had a few wonderful surprises in store for us. We made great memories the kids will remember for a lifetime.

Peaceful location

We enjoyed the property and the host was great to deal with. Bugs were a little bit of an issue though.

Exceeded Expectations

The house was perfect for our long weekend at the lake! The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking, great amount of seating indoor and outdoor. Great amenities such as the golf cart and private dock! We can’t wait to be back.

Cozy and rustic

We enjoyed our weekend getaway. A bit isolated for this time of year. The decks, seating areas, and covered pavilion would be wonderful in the summer! Great communication with the host.

Peace and Quiet

Quiet A-frame style house with short forest walk to the dock. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go. I appreciated being able to kayak around the cove and channel without any fear of being overrun by skidoos.

Great Property

The location and home were great. The only down side was the Wi-Fi was a little slow for the kids devices all at once. But, they had lots of board games they could play.

Amazing little getaway!

We loved our trip to Clayton's. Everything was perfect! We grilled out & ate on the beautiful back deck, played games inside, took the golf cart to the dock & the kids had so much fun playing on the beach. We fished, kayaked & floated out in the middle of the cove all weekend. This house has everything you need, linens, towels, beach chairs, ice machine, games, Wifi & has plenty of room for everyone. We even got fresh vegetables & eggs from his farm stand when we arrived! We can't wait to come back & visit again.

Weekend Getaway with Friends!

Our weekend at Little Piece of Paradise was perfect! The house is spacious and great for the 8 of us. We were so appreciative of Clayton’s flexibility with us, thanks for being so accommodating! We spent most of our time on the water, the dock for the house is great and the golf cart to get down there was an excellent bonus for hauling everything down to the water. We cooked all our meals while we were there and the kitchen had everything we needed. The house supplying beach towels and floats and such was super helpful. We saw so much wildlife while here! So many bald eagles, herons, cormorants, osprey, wild turkeys, turtles, frogs, deer, a black snake and I think a coyote! It was just the best weekend. Thank you, Clayton!

Perfect for a family vacation

This lake house is perfect for families. It is beautiful. Honestly the pictures don't do it justice. There is plenty of space for everyone. Kids enjoy the loft space. The deck is great for entertaining as well as the living area. The golf cart is helpful for going to and from the lake. There is plenty of parking space for family vehicles as well as boat trailers if needed. We have stayed twice already. Once with another family and the second just the four of us. There were a few minor issues that were communicated to the owner that I feel will be taken care of. I also wish it had a lake view. It would be perfect to sit in the living room, looking out the floor to ceiling windows, or on the great deck sipping coffee watching the water in the morning. If you are looking for a peaceful spot in the woods just a a short ride to the lake, this is your place. The dock was spacious and large enough to accommodate all of us. The folding anti gravity chairs are also a nice touch. The view at sunset is lovely fom the dock. The little beach area makes it easy for launching kayaks which are provided for use. We brought our own boat as well. There's a place to launch your boat not far from the house. Its about 2 miles once you're in the water to come back by boat. Overall, I would recommend this property to others. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

Great House in a Wonderful Setting!

We had a great time here. There are 6 large recliners, that are super comfortable Great place to hang out and have quality time together. Great location near the interstate.

Amazing Lake House

The pictures do not do this house justice. It is absolutely beautiful. The owner stopped by and he is very nice and helpful. I will definitely rent this house again.

Owner had double booked the property

Shortly before arriving (<20 min from the property after a 6 hour drive with kids), we were told by the owner that the property had been double booked and another family was there. We could not stay there. He blamed VRBO, but clearly their software does not allow for double booking and he had rented it on another site. Us and the other 2 families had to stay at a hotel that night, then return home the next day - Cancelling our vacation. Owner was apologetic the first call, then refused other calls when we wanted help with the hotel. This kind of thing makes you lose faith in people. In the end we were refunded by VRBO for the stay which didn’t happen, but hotel and travel expenses were not refunded (another family flew and had to fly back).

Nice stay

We used it for a training retreat for some of our catechists. It was comfortable and had what we needed. We enjoyed that it was away from the city but not too far from home.

Nice girls getaway

The communication with the owners was excellent. All question were answered and they anticipated questions we may have discovered while there. The directions on how to access the lake by the golf cart were complete with pictures and accurate descriptions. The house is spacious with a nice deck and has a well-equipped kitchen. Part of the deck is covered which was very welcome since we had an expected rain shower while eating. We enjoyed the peaceful lake while sitting and some trips on the kayaks. We also recommend the Middlebury Steak & Seafood restaurant which is about 6 miles away. It was is a popular place but we didn't mind the little wait. We did have challenges with the water pressure. It seems that two items requiring water can not adequately function at the same time. Additionally, the shower on the first floor was the only one that works, and the water flow is low. For 3 people, this wasn't too big of a deal, but if you had the full house capacity of 8 it may be more of an issue. Check out instructions weren't as thorough as the check-in. Our questions were quickly answered and we left the home in good shape.
