We are sorry this guest was disappointed, but we would like to clarify several points for future guests. The dryer unexpectedly broke during the stay. We promptly arranged repairs and, when necessary, purchased a new dryer for delivery within days. The washer remained fully operational. Unfortunately, when delivery was scheduled, the guests could not accommodate the required access window, despite our rental agreement allowing reasonable access for necessary repairs. We also disagree that the bathroom was unusable. Although the dryer may temporarily have been in the way, the bathroom remained functional and accessible. We took their cleanliness concerns seriously. Our property representative attended, apologized, and offered a bottle of wine and pizza coupon as goodwill gestures. We also offered $100 compensation for the dryer inconvenience and had already waived approximately $200 in pet fees for their two dogs. After checkout, our cleaner reported the home was left in unusually poor condition, including dog feces on the floor and garbage not removed as required. We have hosted many guests without these issues and always make every reasonable effort to resolve problems promptly. We regret that we could not meet this guest's expectations.

We clearly state that towels and bed sheets are not provided. Renters suppose to bring your owns. However we do have bedding sheets and extra towels for emergency usage only, once renters finish using them we ask that renters kindly wash them prior to checking out.

These renters is the reason why we stopped taking reservations from family with young children. Prior to their arrival, these renters were told that our air condition had stopped working. We offered 100 % refund should the renter choose to cancel. The renter decided to go ahead with the reservation. We gave the renters 50.00 refund for every day that the renter has to endure without air condition. We were able to replace the air condition unit few days later. Regarding the neighbors situation: The majority of the people who reside here are retirees and seniors who value their boundaries and privacy. Most of them are friendly toward renters as long as renters respect their property. Members of the renter's family were trespassing into the neighbor's backyard a few times even though they were told ahead of time not to do so. The renters did not follow instructions as to how garbage should be separated when they left our cleaner had to go through their garbage and sort out for them. It was a mess. These people promised to respect our property, however, when they left the cleaner took some photographs. These photographs were too painful to look at. They totally trashed our beautiful beach home.

1. Increase in cleaner's fee: We were caught by surprise as well when the cleaner told that she would increase her fee from 180 - 200 right before the May 2022. We had no choice but to pass this fee onto the renters. Most renters has no problem with the 20 increase. 2. We already talked to the cleaner regarding the spider issue. The house is located very closely to the lake, even through, we have sprayed every year spiders always come back. When we are there, we clean the webs off the night before, the next day webs back again. I guess sometimes one has to accept the fact that nature always wins no matter how hard we, human, try. 3. Mice have never been an issue for us when we are there. We always keeps the door closed and food and garbage clean and contained. I cannot control every renter's action and how they behave. The minutes you left the door open and those critters can sneak in right way. However, we are taking this seriously and will look further as to how we can fix this. Regarding the dirty dishes, we are not a hotel, we do not have staff to clean after the renters' dishes for them. 4. 2021 was a bad year ,weather wise, for Fort Erie, we had some really bad storms that affected most homes in the region especially the one that close to the lake. Some homes in the areas have their basement flooded with water. Our beach house did not get flooded but the water came pretty closed. I think this may have changed the grading in our driveway causing a backflow into the basement when the renters use the outdoor shower. This issue is totally new to us. We used the outdoor shower many times last year and there was no problem. As a result we have to shut down the outdoor shower until the grading can be fixed. 5. Our property is not little kid friendly so from now on it is no longer available for families with younger children. 6. We have only one fob and that will not change. It is a nuisance and I am totally agree with that. However, this is what you get if you want to live or rent in a gated community where security is extremely important. Thanks to the honest review.
