Welcome to Fenix Azul, your next romantic getaway, friends retreat, or family adventure with stargazing in the heart of the high desert. Soak up the private views from every window and enjoy BBQing from the deck while watching the sunset, then sit back and marvel at the stars and Milky Way. If you appreciate dark skies, this is the place for you! We even provide a telescope for your explorations of the cosmos! Imagine yourself relaxing and drinking your favorite beverage after shopping Canyon Road, and hiking the spectacular trails around Santa Fe. This charming 1700 sq.ft home is tastefully designed to give you a true Santa Fe experience with old school brick floors, two inviting kiva fireplaces (flameless candles only) and traditional viga ceilings. Come and enjoy numerous furnishings collected from nearby Santa Fe that deliver a New Mexico vibe. Newly landscaped yard and heating and cooling, freshly renovated kitchen and bathroom all make this property a pleasurable vacation experience. This gem has two living areas, each with their own candlelit fireplace. There's two master bedrooms (very firm queen/medium firm king) that share a bathroom and both have a private patio. An additional hallway bathroom is next to the third bedroom (soft queen). The three beds offer versatility for sleepers. There's also two single airbeds available. Fenix Azul sits on over an acre of land with large juniper trees protecting your privacy and offering a sanctuary for wildlife. There's plenty of hiking/running trails nearby as well as bike paths that travel throughout the community. The Rails To Trails runs right through Eldorado, going from the cute little town of Lamy all the way to Santa Fe. Galisteo Basin Preserve offers great hiking and is only a short drive. It's approximately a 25 minute drive to Santa Fe Plaza and 54 minutes to Ski Santa Fe.
The kitchen is fully stocked with the necessary tools to cook your favorite meal or perhaps try a local recipe from one of our cookbooks. The kitchen was renovated in 2020 and has all new stainless steel appliances and custom cabinets.
The whole house is yours except the detached garage. There is a large circle driveway so there's parking available up to four vehicles.

This could not have been a more perfect place for our small group of women to stay for a 4-day Santa Fe adventure together. The house was extremely comfortable, clean, and a super easy 20-minute commute into Santa Fe each day. We liked getting back out into the majestic countryside at the end of each day where it was quiet and peaceful. Our weather was a bit rainy, so we didn't get to enjoy the stars as much as we hoped, but we'll be back. And when we come back, we'll most certainly stay at Fenix Azul again.

Fenix Azul was an exceptional place to stay during our trip to Santa Fe. The decor and furniture is so lovely and lends a perfect Southwest flavor to the experience. The location is great if you want to be in nature but still be within driving distance to town. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We would highly recommend this house to someone visiting Santa Fe.

Fenix Azul was such an outstanding rental. Clean, quiet, peaceful, and comfortable, the rental provided a lovely home base for a girls weekend in Santa Fe. The views were gorgeous, the beds comfy, and the house both well supplied and well appointed. We’d definitely stay again.

Home-away-home in the heart of nature near a world-class city

We were delighted with our stay at Fenix Azul. The home is thoughtfully appointed with what is needed to make it our home away from home. Then there is the setting at the western end of the Eldorado neighborhood - wow! It is hard to find quiet and dark like this in a development so close to a world-class city - with awesome vistas and hiking just outside your door. We'll be back!

Great place outside of town with privacy and great views. We enjoyed a relaxing stay and would return again. Host was very quick to respond and easy to communicate with before and during our stay. Appreciate the comfortable and sufficient accommodations for our multiple day stay. We enjoyed nearby attractions but made sure to have time to rest on site.

Comfortable and Charming

We enjoyed our 4 night stay here. We found everything comfortable and clean. Cute little kitchen/sitting area with lovely views out the big windows. Didnt use the outside deck because it was too cold but it looked very inviting. Instructions were clear and good communication with the host. A great stay. Thank you!

Adorable, beautiful, clean

Well stocked, thoughtful amenities, comfortable beds. The scenery and landscaping were beautiful. We could see stars forever, and Milky Way was perfectly clear in the pitch dark night sky. The host made things easy as well. Most importantly, it was clean!!!

Loved it

Gals adventure to Santa Fe

Home was a perfect place to relax after a busy day touring. Comfortable beds- so nice to get up and have coffee and enjoy the view of the mountains. A well stocked and maintained home. Made our stay most enjoyable.

Nice property

We have rented in Eldorado each time we have visited Santa Fe. It’s a great location for exploring the area. The house was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. Highly recommend.

Great home

Great home and perfect location to discover Santa Fe and surrounding. The house was perfectly clean and very comfortable. Renee did a great job making us feel at home.

Loved it!

We loved our stay. The house was bigger than it seemed in photos and every room had amazing views. The house was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed.

Beautiful home

Had a wonderful stay at Fenix Azul. It was the perfect end to each days adventure. All the comfort of home and a great price too. Will recommend this home to anyone staying in Santa Fe area.

My name is Renee and my husband is Rick. We were both born and raised in California and moved to New Mexico in the summer of 2019. We lost everything, including our home and two long term rentals in the Camp Fire that destroyed Paradise, Ca. November 8, 2018. We've found healing here in the Land of Enchantment.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Instead of replacing our long term rental with another one, we decided to venture into the short term rental business and Santa Fe was the perfect location due to it's beauty and rich cultural history. We looked in the city limits but found the rural Eldorado area with it's dark skies to be such a beautiful and peaceful area for a vacation destination.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

We love the quiet and dark skies found here at Fenix Azul as well as the flora and fauna of this high desert community. There are endless bike trails, including the Rails to Trails path that takes you from Lamy, through Eldorado and on to the city of Santa Fe. The Galisto Basin Preserve is a quick drive down the road and there are several excellent restaurants nearby with patio dining. I'm a snow skier and I love the close proximity to Ski Santa Fe. After a long day of playing in the snow or hiking in the aspens, it's so nice to come back to this cozy home. The howling of the coyotes, curious cottontail rabbits and occasional bobcat sightings are an added plus. However, the views surrounding this home are the main feature and the sunrises and sunsets are our favorites!
