Relaxing getaway close to everything

We had everything we needed to get away from it all while still being close to all the things to do in Hendersonville and Asheville.

Spirits and Sunshine at Lake Summit

Very accommodating, well stocked with lots of amenities! Great views and the boat house was an added extra! We had a wonderful time!!

Great house and great location

We stayed during a record breaking cold snap and Kathy called and made sure we were OK and the house was warm--it was. Enjoyed the stay and working with her.

Perfect for 20, 50 and 80 year olds!

Large rooms to spread out or accommodate the whole family. Magnificent views, toys for all ages, beautiful, interesting decor that makes you feel at home and completely relaxed. I could easily spend extended time there. The host and manager were a pleasure to work with.

This is a wonderful, well-stocked family vacation home. Lake Summit was quiet (October). Sunrise and sunset over the lake were beautiful. Every day we fished; used canoes, kayaks and paddleboards; jumped off the upper level deck of the boathouse; and swam (a little cool). Our family picked apples, played tennis in Saluda, hiked in Bell Park and elsewhere, rode bikes, and had a grand time. I would be happy to rent this property again.

Lake Summit Week

We had a great week in a wonderful house!!! Such a clean and comfortable home. Everything you could possibly need!! Same with the boathouse!!! Not to mention the view!! We hope to return next year!!!

5 stars all around

Fabulous well equipped family home and boat house with gorgeous views of Lake Summit. Excellent kitchen. Very quiet in early October. We canoed and kayaked and the kids loved jumping from the boat house porch. We hope to stay there again.

Fantastic stay

We came to Zirconia to compete in collegiate mtb nationals and Kathy’s house was perfect! Plenty of room for all of us and the boathouse was amazing with lots of toys for fun paddles on the lake! We will have to return just for fun at some point so we can enjoy the amenities. Kathy was fantastic at communicating and set up a bike room to store our bikes. Check in was a snap and we very much enjoyed our stay! It was magic!!

Wonderful stay at Lake Summit

We had such a nice week at the lake. The property had plenty of space for our entire crew, and we loved being able to jump off the boathouse deck and paddle on the SUP and kayak. We got our exercise with the steps up and down the hill, and we really enjoyed the views out over the lake from all parts of the house and the multiple porches. Kathy was very helpful with her communication and guidance. What a relaxing week!

brady bunch

The main house is right out of the pages of Better Homes and Gardens. BEAUTIFUL, with so much history. Comfortable rooms and great views of the water. Three oven kitchen was a dream come true. Jumping from boathouse top deck to water was a highlight. Caught huge carp from deck too. Loved having lunch by the water made in the 2nd kitchen at boathouse. Round table united our 2 families together.

Friendsgiving

Overall the stay was great. The house is amazingly clean and spacious with all things we needed to cook a Thanksgiving Feast! My boys were a bit chilly in the boast house and didn't enjoy having to wake up the day after Thanksgiving for work at the boast house but overall it was a great stay! One thing I would invest in especially for colder months is more comfortable seating throughout the house. There was plenty of room but very uncomfortable seating! Overall though a beautiful view, fabulous kitchen and overall great space!

Fantastic Find, Great House !

I am really happy to have found this place before everyone else has... It is really going to go fast... This property is a true gem. Kathy was a great host and easy to communicate with.. Evidently, she is new to VRBO...a pleasure to talk to, and already sounds like a seasoned host. This house has great views of beautiful Lake Summit, and both the house and the boathouse are very spacious and clean. The kitchen has 2 stoves and 3 ovens ! Great for any size group... The boathouse also has a spacious living area, with another kitchen, bedroom and bath (and bar..) Was fun to swim in the lake with her provided floats and kayaks.. Also jumping off the boathouse porch a crowd pleaser.... We will definetly be returning.

Lakehouse with Gorgeous Views

We loved our third summer vacation visit to Lake Summit; daily visits from many ducks, hummingbirds and fish while enjoying canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding on the wide part of this gorgeous lake. Gorgeous views of the lake from the oversized dining/living room and the master bedroom and the oversized boathouse. Lots of room and fun toys to make wholesome and event filled family memories.

Grandchildren on the river

Perfect spot for a long weekend with our grandchildren. The downstairs area provides quiet and privacy . The grandchildren enjoyed the river. With the public landing nearby they tuned down to the cabin and exited. Only wish the river steps were more accessible for all ages. Wonderful and relaxing time.

First Vacation since Covid

What a beautiful experience for my whole family. Breathtaking views, morning swims in lake, cookouts on the water and paddleboards all day long. The house is amazingly stocked and we loved our stay. We will be back…. Soon! Kathy is amazing!

Nice Getaway

Family Thanksgiving

Every year, my family tries our best to get as many of us together as possible. This year we decided on a vacation spot to do so. What a great decision. Not only was the location beautiful but there was plenty of room for everyone. Kathy couldn’t have been more accommodating. We hope to go back when it’s warm enough to enjoy the fabulous lake. Thanks Kathy! We had a most memorable time.

Wonderful old family home on private mountain lake

Much loved mountain lake house that has been home to several generations of the same family since Lake Summit was opened Very well stocked kitchen includes two stoves (meaning 2 separate cooktops for a combined total of 8 eyes., 3 ovens and 1 microwave. Fabulousl, large dining table centered by a large revolving lazy Suzan which sits in front of an amazing picture window that looks out over Lake Summit. Seats at least 8-10 easily. One separate bedroom and full bath upstairs. At least 3 separate conversation areas in the various reception room. Lots of game board puzzles and board game for family entertainment. The fist floor contains 3 large bedrooms with king, double and two single beds located in the first floor bedrooms. ALL baths have en-suite bathrooms in every bedroom. Bonus room with great ping pong table is also located on the first floor. Great porches off first and second floors from which you can observe Lake Summitt 24/7. The boat house has its own kitchen , living area, separate deck and bedroom. Wonderful place to spend the afternoon swimming. Short drive to Saluda for dining and a shopping.
