Family vacation

Nice spacious house. Hot tub was warm not hot. Wi-Fi did not work. All TV's would not work with no Wi-Fi. Microwave needed cord manipulated to work. Thermostat fluctuated on its own.

Beautiful home and area! Plenty big enough for 3 families to stay together and for everyone to have their own space to escape to. This location has a free shuttle that will come to the house and bring you to the clubhouse where you can enjoy the amenities! Was a lot of fun.

Fantastic villa

We stayed for 2 weeks. Fantastic villa in a great location. It was spotless. Only neg point is there is very little cooking trays etc but we mostly ate out so this didn't affect our stay. Would 100% recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book this again. Thanks.

Perfect quick stay

Great house. My teenagers and all adults loved the spaciousness. Leaky sink in one bathroom and the pool table was missing a workable pool stick but other than that great property.

Outstanding Experience!

Our experience was perfect in every way. The owner communicated extremely well and was very helpful in guiding us through our first time using VRBO. The house was immaculate and exactly as described. Beautifully maintained and decorated. Check-in was fast and easy. Our family had a wonderful time on this vacation, and much of the credit goes to our wonderful VRBO experience. I highly recommend this owner and property!

Adequate

This place was adequate for our purposes- visiting Disney. It had plenty of room for everyone in our party. The ride to Disney took much longer than indicated in the listing. On average it was a 40-45 minute drive.If you plan to stay, note the hours of communicating with the rental service. Best to do by email.Bring dish towels if you plan to hand wash dishes/pots. Also we didn’t know about the additional cost to heat the pool and use the gas grill.

First great family vacation

We loved our stay at Champions Gate Resort! We booked through Vrbo.com. 8/14 to 8/20 The house was beautiful, 5 bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and very spacious. The pool was a plus! We had access to all amenities, loved the oasis club. We had to drive about 6 min to the oasis, which wasn’t a problem. Our Location was perfect to Disney parks, lego land, Island of adventure. We did run into school traffic leaving Champions gate to head to the parks. So we now know that school starts early in Florida and depending on the times you head out you may run into traffic, but hey, it’s vacation, be patient, be kind and live in the moment! Will definitely come back.

Great until there’s an issue

Upon arriving at to the house we noticed it to be unusually warm. We turned the AC down, went for dinner and when we came back the house was still hot, 86 degrees. When we contacted the property owner it took a while for a response and we were left to sleep in a 86 degree home with small children. The issue did not get resolved until noon the following day. When we requested compensation our request was ignored. The property was overall good aside from our initial issue. It was the perfect size for our family.

Great house.

The house is amazing, room for everyone to spread out. Open living/dining/kitchen is great for meal time and hanging out. We chose not to pay for the pool to be heated and the kids still had a good time swimming. If you like to cook, the kitchen is not stocked with essentials. Things not provided: can opener, baking sheets, large skillet, measuring cups, cake pans, hot pan holders. You are only provided one trash bag and one dishwasher pod so you will want to buy extra. If you are a big family like ours (12 people) you will need to get more toilet paper and bring your own toiletries. The check in/security gate process is cumbersome after traveling all day. You need to check in at the main security gate to get your gate pass to enter your section of the community’s gate. We ran into an issue that our reservation had not been communicated to the community so we had to wait for property manager to handle that. QR code given for gate pass did not scan so we had to call security each time to be buzzed in. Clubhouse amenities are nice, heads up: you cannot bring in your own food, snacks or drinks.

The place had boogers and roaches everywhere white stains on the couches the WiFi did not work so we could not even watch the tv my kids and I was forced to sleep in one room in the same bed and leave all of our things in the car bc of the roaches they do not advertise the roaches online but after u get there u find a we have roaches sign on the wall behind the door. The host was very un accommodating and did not care how this affected our trip as well as the sign said the bug people spray everyday they did not come during my whole trip.I was there to enjoy myself and I could not do that bc I was constantly having to calm the hostess people while I was out and about.The hosts never one time called me to correct any of my concerns. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER FOR A FIRST TIME FAMILY VACATION.

Important things to note before booking

The property is roughly 20-40 minutes to the parks without traffic— certainly not 6 minutes as stated in the listing.If you choose to heat the pool, it costs 45/day. The grill costs 50 for your stay if you choose to use it. This would be nice information to disclose before booking. As stated in other reviews, supplies in the house are bare minimum. There are only 2 sets of towels per bathroom—we had 10 bath towels for 15 guests. Certainly should have enough towels to accommodate your amount of guests. I had to purchase dish rags and towels because there are none.The furniture downstairs is in poor condition Backs of the dining chairs were loose. The faux leather sofa was flaking off on our hair and clothing all week. Important to note the next door neighbor does not like any kind of noise during daylight hours. She came outside to complain. Keep this in mind if you have young children who plan on using the private pool. When getting your parking pass, be prepared for absolute chaos at the gate if you’re arriving around check-in time. Took my family at least 30 minutes to get our pass. Positives: House was decently clean, resort pools were clean, host is responsive, trash pickup daily, convenient to several restaurants, nice golf course. We had a good week— if the issues listed were resolved, we’d stay again.

Lovely house

The house itself is great! The club house and pool area are amazing too. Perfect size for what we needed for the week. The pool in the lanai was a highlight and we used it every day. The kitchen could use a bit more necessities like dish towels. The only negative I have is the traffic to get to the theme parks is insane. I would stay on Disney property 100% to avoid that traffic. The showers could use railings as it's very slippery.

Not all we thought it would be

The house was tidy but not really well cleaned. We were aware we would need to buy our own groceries but essentials like dish cloths, garbage bags and dish soap/dishwasher soap and toilet paper was not provided. A list of what to be prepared to purchase on arrival would have saved substantial time on our limited vacation stay. The bathrooms were surface clean but I ended up buying cleaning supplies to clean the sinks and showers as we did find hair and grime in the corners. I had received an email to have the heat turned on in the hot tub and pool ahead of time. There was an additional charge for this. Something not clearly stated when I made the reservation. I also had to pay additionally for use of the BBQ. This was slightly annoying but I paid the additional fees ahead and booked a turn on date so it would be ready when we arrived. Upon arrival, we found the hot tub and pool cold. We contacted the property managers and were told it takes 8-10 to heat up. I had requested the turn on to be the day before so it should have been ready. Long story short, we got the run around from the property management representative, and after several unanswered emails, text messages and then phone calls, we were told the heater was broken and could not be fixed. Our money was refunded for the heat turn on but we did not receive the compensation for not having the pool/hot to use during our stay. We do not recommend this property and would not return.
